I really liked the short one. I am not very good at cutting and was able to get through a target I have never made it through before. They are great swords!
is seems this was a modernized designed based on later period Chinese dao swords which were on the other hand mainly either Steppe nomadic or Japanese influenced designs

By lancelots own admission he took elements from what he views as the best cutting swords. So yes, you are correct.
