I’m glad you explained why you get so pumped about catching Rainbows. Where I live it’s all Rainbows and very few Brookies. In fact, there’s a stretch of the Snake River where it’s illegal to release any Rainbows that you catch. The Idaho Dept of Fish & Game have tagged a bunch of Rainbows with micro transmitters. Every Rainbow that you catch, you cut off the head, fill out a form and put them in a drop box on the river. They’ll come by, check each head and if you got one with the transmitter, you can win a bunch of money.
They are so few and far here in Maine! Definitely the hardest trout to catch here in Maine! No way! That’s so interesting it’s amazing how different the fisheries are from state to state! What a cool idea to get fisherman to contribute!
Great catch, beautiful introduction, get a black rubber mat, cut into 2×2 sections, cut door knob hole in center, slice to open like a flap, wrap around trap a little snow keeps them in place, DIY, no more frozen holes
Thank you so much!! Was such an exciting day! More to come we really are trying to push them out! Thanks a ton for watching we really appreciate it! ❤️👍
In Wisconsin the season closes on October 15th and opens the first weekend in May again. You can fish artificial lures and catch and release em after January 5th, but I'm usually out ice fishing giant Mississippi river perch then. Congratulations on your biggest rainbow.
@@Fishin4Adventure If you ever find yourselves in SW Wisconsin around late March and April Id put you on some good one's. Last few year's they have been some of the biggest perch I've seen since I was a kid in the late 70s.
@@Fishin4Adventure Yea I got a camp up there but I havent been in about 5 years. I'm stationed in Kansas at the moment, the fishing out here is great though!

They do it to try to protect the native Yellowstone Cutthroat population. They are my favorite fish to catch in these parts.

Best release of the century, best fall over backwards knock everything over and get your butt wet. That isn't bad and lots of fun fishing.
Haha thanks rick! Sure was all of the above! Thanks a bunch for the comment and tuning in! We really appreciate it!
