Poco X6 Pro 5G | Unboxing & One Week Review

- Unboxing Xiaomi's Poco X6 Pro 5G, with a one-week review of the camera performance, gaming, battery life & Hyper OS. I've used the Poco X6 Pro as my full-time phone for those seven days and it's a big upgrade in some ways, incremental in others. But it's certainly one of the best budget mid-range smartphones in 2024 and a hot rival vs the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus.
If you're tempted, you can grab one right here: gozbx.com/r/wNAHupHGqmgl
That 64MP main camera is a respectable effort, if not much of an upgrade over the X5 series. The Poco X6 Pro can capture crisp photos if the lighting isn't too dodgy, as well as 4K video on demand.
If you're a gamer, multi-tasker or heavy user, the Poco X6 Pro will be a smart choice on a budget. That Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset can make short work of Genshin Impact and other Android titles, while the battery life is also superb.
Film fans will adore that 1.5k AMOLED screen with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. The Poco X6 Pro 5G also boasts boomy stereo speakers and Xiaomi's latest Hyper OS launcher, which smells a bit like MiUI. So you've got the same Game Turbo features etc.

Nah
funny reading so many comments talking about the X3 (Pro) and the good experiences with it. Own an X3 Pro myself, was waiting for the proper successor to it (since the subsequent phones seemed to be downgrades from the X3 Pro), even considering dipping my toes in Xiaomi's or the Redmi's, but it was either too expensive or lacked the features that I wanted from a new phone. The X6 Pro, despite being pricier than the X3 Pro on release, seems to be the proper upgrade from it (bought one yesterday).
The X3 Pro is such a good bang for the buck and I don't think Xiaomi will be releasing anything as good as that.
I was also extremely lucky to never get hit with the motherboard issues a lot of people reported the X3 Pro would have.
I'm in the same boat as you! I've had my X3 Pro for a little over two years, and casually looking at the next option for later this year.
How is it going with your X6 Pro now? Would you still recommend it as the successor to the X3 Pro?
Don't believe a lot of people as they're usually crying for no reason, or they have an unhappy life.
I'm the same been searching for a better phone but it's finally here and my poco still rocks better than them poco x5 crap with them crappy chip set poco x6pro is off the chart
Same here. Have the x3pro and its odd that until x6pro, the others are not upgrades. This phone is so good for its price, i love the x3pro.
I passed my X3 Pro on to my daughter. The performance does eat my X5 Pro but other than that I wouldn't go back (5G, better display, better camera, lighter, better build quality...) YMMV
Edit: Mine has had its battery swell badly recently (abuse) but looks easy enough to replace
F4 user here. Was hoping that X changes the cam sensor to a Sony IMX, but now, the X6 Pro has the same 64-megapixel Omnivision sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical stabilisation (OIS) as the Poco F4 and the 2 other cameras are also the same. Xiaomi must have a crapload of those useless 2-Mp and ancient 8-Mp WA cam sensors in it's warehouses. The Hyper-OS and the performance however looks tempting, not to mention the updates.
I had a POCO X3 Pro once and it died before the year of usage, wifi stopped working and that meant that to fix it would require changing the entire motherboard which cost the same as the phone. Afterwards X4, X5 models were rather underwhelming in their specs compared to what the X3 Pro offered at a cheaper price, but now this X6 finally looks like a worthy successor specs wise for the price range. Still, unsure if I would ever buy another POCO.
I had the F1, F3, F4 and now thinking about the X6 and the ones before have been fine but the cameras were all trash on them
same here man i used to own an x3 pro before it just "died" like the phone wont turn on after that, one of the worst purchases ive ever done it felt like i burned my money by doing that

I like your unboxing and review.
One thing I couldn't see/understand that quickly at 6:13: it's dual-SIM right? How do SIMs fit in?
Looks like one SIM is put in "on top" and another one "on the bottom" of the SIM slider?

Yes, they Sandwich the tray.
Where do you get those themes n backgrounds please
I used to have a Poco X3, which I still own. However, my current device is the Realme 9 Pro Plus, recognized for its impressive camera in the 20k price bracket. Despite its excellent camera, I find it inconvenient due to the smaller screen size and the lack of a burst shot camera mode. I'm considering getting the Poco X6 Pro as my next phone soon.
Wait Poco F6

No wait for poco X7, no wait for poco F7, no wait wait for poco X8, no wait for poco X8, no wait for poco F8, no wait for poco X9, no wait for poco F9
The camera on the x6 pro is garbage. They make up for it with the performance but honestly, 12gb RAM and 512 GB of storage for £350 with a flagship killer chipset is worth it.
Poco x6 pro vs f6 .... little difference poco f6 is just a little premium with glass back and better camera and more expensive 😅
@@ulysses4989any motherboard issues? I know it's a joke im geniuenly hesitant in getting it because of all the motherboard comments
i have tested this myself, and its been so good for me! i used it to emulate sonic mania, play roblox and other games. It did not fail in keeping up. This is a better upgrade for my iphone x.

Been enjoying my Poco X3 Pro for over a year, but it's time to join the 5G generation & the Poco X6 Pro looks like the obvious upgrade.
I'm gonna go for the Xiaomi 13t... More so for the camera spec
Will definitely upgrading now from X3 Pro.
Tempted to buy it but I have already got 2 recent phones. I will see what price I can find it for.
goed bezig maat Greetings from the Netherlands
Perhaps it will be one of the legendary phones in the average budget.
Sup, i have the Poco F3 and i am looking for an upgrade for it. You think Poco X6 pro is a decent replacement?
I have the x5 almost 2 years and love it. Battery is still great. Would it be worth changing to the x6? Probably not. I'll keep this until it dies.
Thanks Chris it ticks all the boxes for me, I think the fake leather backed version will be my next phone
I've had an X3 NFC for years. Think of upgrading to this.
My last Poco phone was the F4 GT which I have to say was possibly my favourite phone to date. I'm now using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and honestly, I preferred the F4 GT for a number of reasons, the main one being the price. The F4 GT cost me £320 which is something like a 1/4 of the price of the S23 Ultra. Both phones have their good points and negatives, but whatever they are, you can't ignore that the Poco is SO much cheaper and frankly, just as good.
The S23's battery life is shite, so I have no idea what everyone else is going on about! It's constantly needing a charge, whereas the Poco genuinely lasted a day of heavy use.
The Poco charged up in 15 minutes, the Samsung over an hour +.
The Poco's quality build had those awesome magnetic triggers, which are really very useful.
And don't get me started on the Samsungs in screen fingerprint scanner which is utterly shite if you use any kind of screen protector!
Frankly, in my opinion, the truth is, why would you spend any more than £300 - £350 when you can get something like the Poco F4 GT or the device being reviewed here?
Both Samsungs and Apples Flagships are honestly a total utter rip off!
Fun fact: that dabi wallpaper I've been using it on my Poco f1 for a few months now I saw it in the theme store
I was still using poco f1 up untill now but now i'm switching to poco x6 pro as my poco f1 is dying now
@@kazuragi895 mine the battery got busted again but this time it DMG a major piece of the device on the inside so I never bothered buying a new battery again
Poco x3 was the bang for the buck and its still working till this day flawlessly, but this one should be THE upgrade now, x4 x5 were horrible spec wise.
dude you need to make top best display on mid range-budget smartphones, i heard only honor 90 has top tier display from cheap ones
I just want to see emulation performance on this phone, but unfortunately no one has done it yet :( Great review though
Thanks for the review and really appreciate it. Have already ordered one - Poco X6 Pro 5G (12GB+512GB) and am getting it tomorrow. Definitely will share my feedback with you. Wonder what people want in their phone - someone was complaining about no SD Card slot and no wireless charging. What do you expect from a budget midrange phone. If you are ready to pay four times the price, you will get all such features. Is it worth it? Do you use any of those features in your day to day life. I had Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, but I hardly used any of its advanced features. People are ready spend a fortune owning an iPhone.
Perhaps having the top of the line phone just isn't for you, because, buying a phone like the S23 Ultra just means that you want EVERYTHING it comes with and plan to utilise it.
I myself have an iPhone 15 Pro, and I very much enjoy all its features and use it as much as I can, since it's part of what I paid for.
As for why I'm here, I'd like a nice mid-range android because I very much do not need a flagship one.
@@hongkong8907 very true what you said. Am using Poco X6 Pro 5G now and am very happy with its performance. I strongly recommend this mid range beast for your day today use. Worth every penny.
I got one from Mi Store the other day and absolutely love it... moved from seriously unimpressive Pixel 6a... I've got the yellow matte finish and I can't believe how light it is 🤯
@@AdrianMcGavockquick question if you don't mind me asking what network you on I'm on EE and it read the SIM but was unable to make calls or use my mobile date it was very intermittent, I've sent back for a replacement and EE insisted it's a faulty phone but an 3 SIM worked fine 🤷
@@TheVman42 sorry for slow reply sir, busy day! I'm on Sky and absolutely no probs with connecting to network... obviously, lack of 5G coverage means it's not all bells and whistles but all clear 👍
The global variant is the one to go for!
Be mindful of the 'Made In India' variants...
Those phones used to have motherboard and capacitor leak issues due to poor build quality.
No always on display. Next!! A must have as far as I'm concerned. Can't believe it's not standard
Is the X3 poco the best version? I own the X3 nfc
My main take away here is: wassat movie with Kevin Bacon and whassisface and sumwun else at 6:30 with all the stranded white Tesla's. looks interesting!
BTW I have a Poco F2 Pro needs replacing only for lack of updates and i see the X6 Pro is £349 (369 list) vs £319 for the Poco X6 for a few days. The bog F5 still looks good though with 2 OS's from May 23 and security til May 26. then there's the 13T, the 12T and 12T Pro with some life left in them. 🤔
Very good review!
i have old poco x3 pro and dont feel like upgrading yet 🤔 some would say biggest downside is lcd 120hz display but i recently compared it with last year samsung a53 oled and i preferred whites on my poco x3pro so no rush for upgating unless that camera tech really improves

I love your humor! I had eczema that peeled my crusty skin back between my fingers. During class at high school I picked a bit off anf flicked it and it landed in Cheryl Bell's mouth.
Hey Chris, I have the F3 which is great, is this worth an upgrade? Looks a bit incremental to me. Great video as usual.
Same position here. As the X6 pro is a rebranded redmi K70E I'd hold off in hope that the K70 pro gets rebranded as a Poco phone for the UK.
Just wait for the Poco F6
I'm gonna switch. Here are some good comparisons:
F3: 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~395 ppi density) AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 1300 nits (peak)
X6 P: 1220 x 2712 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~446 ppi density) AMOLED, 68B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, 500 nits (typ), 1200 nits (HBM), 1800 nits (peak)
F3: Snapdragon 870 5G (7 nm)
X6 P: Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra (4 nm)
F3: 256GB 8GB RAM 3.1
X6 P: 512GB 12GB RAM 4.0
F3: 4520 mAh 33W Charging (52m)
X6 P: 5000 mAh 67W Charging (45m)
Overall, a great upgrade (mainly for gaming and watching movies)
Downsides X6 P: worse selfie camera, harder to add custom ROM due to Mediatek chipset.
Downsides F3: Begins with Android 11
I'd say wait till the Redmi K70 gets a Poco rebrand, it should be a way better upgrade. I also have an F3 here and it works fine.

Where did you get the Dabi background from?
Why do icons in Poco Launcher never get updated? 😑
Cool video carnal greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽 a question, do you know how many years of android updates and security patches Xiaomi promises in the x6 pro...?????
3 android updates and 4 years of security patches
My first Poco was the x3 NFC, which I bought on price but turned out to be a great phone albeit that it was a bit of a brick, though the battery life was incredible.
Now have a POCO X5 Pro 5G which is such a nice phone! Lighter less durable I suspect but performance is great in all dept. It had a few problems with android auto to begin with but they were resolved in time with upgrade patches.
I am keen to buy a Poco X6 but sadly I can't justify it at the moment as the present phone works so well and it's not that old.
I've owned HTC and Apple phones in the past but why spend all that cash!
I just bought the Poco X6 Pro 2-29-23 from Amazon to replace my Poco X3 GT had it for over 2 years. Great Phone, No Problems with it. Updates very Fast and Good. I bought the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ over 4 months ago for $329. On sale from Giztop. Can't get rid of the Chinese Apps. I'm going to sell it on eBay. I live in Chicago USA.
Love the shot on the HMS Belfast.
Will this have android update support for years to come or just 1 year?
3 years of Android + 4 years of security
have buy for 245€ on youtube is a best buy
Just got my redmi k70 yesterday, and I've been quite disappointed with the customisation options so far in hyperOs (I.e. the amount of it rather than the quality of it). I have also just noticed the always on display problem is on this phone as well, but also small things like lack of gesture customisation make me pine for my old realme x2 pro, which I wasn't expecting. Bloatware is obviously significantly more annoying on a phine bought in china, but for around £300, and a glass back and snapdragon 8 gen 2 over the poco x6 pro, I'm certainly very happy
Never mind, my phone does have an always on display option to set it to always.
I was with the launching event❤
Can someone pls tell me where i can get the wallpaper for, the batery life segment?????????
X3 NFC user here... Might just upgrade after years
So is there a better xaiomi option? Or is this a good phone to go for? Wondering mostly because of the external.

Can you make a comparation with Xiaomi 13T ? Is main competitor and many people wait this comparation (i want to see photo difference in special)
Meee to i think 13t camera is much better
Probably close to the F3 with that sensor. 13T uses a different larger sensor so ofc it is going to be better.

I absolutely love Poco phones, I had an X3 and it died and then i had an X5pro briefly but I recently saw one that also died so I'm worried about that part, but otherwise its a no brainer
I fell like all these "cheap phones" (and some expensive too, don't get me wrong) are designed to died out, so this way you need to buy another in 2-3 years.
I had a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and it died after 3 years out of nowhere, but since it costed me "only" $200, I wasn't THAT mad tbh

After watching the reviews, I understand that the X6 Pro is significantly faster than the X6, but does this only apply to gaming (which I don't)? As a regular, low-maintenance phone user (UA-cam, internet, watching movies, listening to podcasts), will the slower X6 be good enough, or will there be any benefit to me if I spend more and buy the Pro?
The x6 comes with Snapdragon 7 gen 2 which is absolutely more than enough for media streaming (and average games too), also the aux jack is an extra treat for getting the normal x6, i got the x6 pro and it's a beast in gaming, but unless you're gaming i don't see a reason to get the pro
