Super Glad to have added this bike to our garage....It's a blast to ride......The Kaplans are a pleasure to do business with, And the New England Motorcycle Museum is a must see for any bike enthusiast....
what do these go for just for a reference
Very cool video. just FYI, the lever is simply a throttle advance, not a choke, as it's fuel injected. I LOVE mine!
Hey that was me on the yellow cbr600, you see me at rockstock for sure!! Keep up the great content
I just bought a 2003 Moto Guzzi California Stone with 6,000 miles for $2,800. About half of what bluebook value probably is and about half of what market value is for sure. These bikes do provide decades of reliable service and have amazing engine life. well over 100,000 miles between rebuilds. I also have a 1976 v1000iconvert with 55,000 miles that i have torn down for light resto. Could not believe how little wear it shows. Cylinders look great with barely a hint of ridge and valve guides are fine. My latest aquisition, the 2003 is really an almost identical experience to buying a brand new one. Just much cheaper. The most under rated over looked bikes on the market.
are you located in the states?
I just picked up this same bike but an 01 model, I feel like the price on these things have really bottomed out, Mine is a one owner bike and has 22,000 miles on it, I got it for $3k. I have already gone on a few trips and put almost 2,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ, all I did when I got it since it sat for a few years was do an oil/filter change and tighten up the valve clearances, they were out of spec and super noisey. Other then that the bike shifts like a champ and cruises beautifully on the highway. Also do yourself a favor and get a Mistral exhaust for the bike, the sound is intoxicating!
That flywheel anti-torque reaction is fun eh? I love Moto Guzzis. The Jackal looks great for long distance riding. Thanks for the awesome review, Ken!
Thanks for the pillion ride, I loved every minute. Now I have to save up and start living.
I just bought this same model this past summer and trust me you wont be disappointed, I have had lots of different bikes in my life and this bike is great! I got a Mistral exhaust for mine and the sound is amazing!
How much for the goose. Had a red one I bought brand new from Marsha moto guzzi in Windsor. Had over 90 thousand and ran like a top. Got rid of her due to a DUI. interested
Beauty, and awesome review.
I don't mean to be an ass, but it's pronounced "goot-si", not "guzz-i". As far as I know, "goot-si" is the proper pronunciation.
Then don't be an ass.
@@kevinlunney5608 you dont say peas-sa. you say peetz-aa. guzzi and pizza have that tzi not si sound
This model will make it to about 118mph. I've done it.
..."more like a Ducati than a Harley..." Uh, maybe because both the Guzzi and the Ducati are 90 deg. V-twins, instead of Harley's 45 deg.?
Ti aspetto al 100 ario 2021 della moto guzzi in mandello del lario.
At 40 secs did you just claim that this is a HD evolution motor?
Yes he did.
@@jacktanner7738 Got his finger on the pulse.....
Wait till they find out it corners and stops, wonder what HD bits cause that?
guz-zee hahahha its goot-zi.
Theres a 2002 thats lips stick red at the pawn shop. Only 4000 miles .and it's around 3000$ dollers I want it so badly damit it would soot me fine. Oh and its a 1100 Jackie .bad bad badly
Dude, that is an excellent buy! I just bought an 03 from a private party north of Seattle with 6,000mi. on it for $2,800 and honestly i feel like i got it for about half of it's true value. Mine is a Cali Stone which looks to be a dead ringer for a Jackal and it's an 1100. All the power i need and really good ratio spacing in the trans. So glad i stuck to my convictions instead of wussin' out over a fear of a sketchy parts and service and buying something real common like a Honda. This thing surpasses my every expectation and i feel like i robbed the guy.
@@gregorytimmons4777 dam someone bought the one I wanted. I had a Suzuki gal 1000 and I miss that bike grrr lol
Ciao ,io ho un california stone del 2003,ho appena tolto il portapacchi, la umiliava xché una vera moto nn deve avere quelle cose, ciao
If it has a choke, its not fuel injected bud.
These bikes you have to start & let them run for a couple of minutes before riding off. Otherwise they stalling. And they are efi.
Uh, ya it is. Some how, for some reason they provide a manual enrichment circuit. It just depends on what all is covered by sensors and interpreted by the ECU. Obviously to have such a feature on an F.I. bike is rare but this type of F.I. has a number of manually adjustable items as per a workshop manual details in the Fuel System section.
def is efi my breva had an enrichment valve. my current 98 vfr800 is FI and has a enrichment valve. FI but cold blooded and cant just start and ride away on cooler days.
My injected 2003 special sport does in fact have a choke lever. It might not perform a choke function, but it does facilitate easier starting and increases rpm while "choked."
