Theoretically iMT should be cheaper than AMT, that means they should offer the same with maximum 40000 rupees higher than manual...but sadly, Hyundai and Kia offer this transmission as expensive and give customers an impression like it's something comparable to DCT and conventional automatic...so sad👎👎👎👎👎 May be other manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Renault would launch more affordable cars with same technology if they have access

I think IMT will be better than AMT. I have Maruti celerio AMT.. Using it for last 5 years and had worst experience. All went fine for first 3.5 years. After that car started showing engine warning symbol and it was because if the AMT unit of the car got faulty. Since my car was under warrenty luckly I got the part replaced free of cost otherwise I have to pay around 55k for replacing it. After one year again faced the same issue and this time the showroom mechanic said that a part of the AMT unit need to be changed and it will cost 15k. We had many arguments with them even I complained to Maruti.. But didn't got any positive response... My car is only 14k driven in 5 yeara and just before one year only the complete AMT unit replaced. After all arguments, the showroom teaml charged me 5k and replaced something to fix the issue. So if u r planning to buy AMT car.. Make sure u have enough money in ur pocket after warrenty period to replace AMT unit or it's parts.. The coplete unit replacement will cost u 55k... They won't provide any warrenty for the newly replaced parts or thy won't show any responsibility for their parts.... It's my personal experience.. But if my car is really having any manufacturing defects, company should replace it... But they don't have that responsibility also...

All good ! But just for the sake of an all round perspective let's also discuss the cons as well. Main concerns now are what will be the maintenance costs and TCO compared to the manuals we have been driving around for decades ? Question is what will be the maintenance costs after warranty? Or after a 5 year period of ownership ?
No automobile companies or dealerships are out there for charity. Their only agenda is on how to increase their own profits and kill competitions with miscellaneous features and unsustainable performances than offering customers with reliable and easily repairable products😏😏 What you have to keep in mind is the max life expectancy of an automobile getting registered nowadays is 15 years. And out of that 5 - 7 years would be your loan tenure. And normally after your loan tenure you are out of warranty and your actual maintence costs will commence. And that's where these new technologies are enabling the dealerships as these complex systems could only be serviced at authorised service outlets and they are designed with such precision that after your loan tenure they are in for major repairs and replacements. And it's time to start a new loan for a new vehicle.
Also just try to compare TCO for a car bought in 2000, 2005,2010, 2015 and 2021 you can notice the huge difference in the amounts you pay and the value you are getting. OK let''s accept the fact we are enthusiasts and we love our cars and we are not much concerned of economics of car ownership. Still are we getting anything better in terms of fuel economy or pollution control ? Just analyse the cars we had in last 15 Years and the latest ones released 2020 - 21. With BS6 vehicle prices simply increased, Engines switched to bigger volumes and became less fuel efficient and have to use mandatory additives and if you closely analyse the benifit for environment is nill or may be only increased air pollution. Also the new complex features they are upselling now. High maintence costs in all aspects. And I dont want to discuss fuel pricing at all now 😏😏 And another fact is ,it is not at all possible for every Indian citizen to be on road with own automobile. Keep in mind it would be one of the great service you can do for the nation by simply opting for public transport whenever possible.
Another threat is these computerised controls and connected apps are miilking each and every activity. Both audio video and biometrics. We are already giving it out through each and every gadgets we use and car is also not going to be an exception. The fact is companies like Google know you better than yourself. Your brain is getting old and its processing power is comparitively very slow and have forgotten many things😏😏 Apart from privacy these enhanced safety features are a total death trap in the hands of a hacker ! In other words you are driving at high speeds in a vehicle which could be easily taken out of your control wirelessly by hacking into your car's control systems remotely by anyone with required tech skills.
So all together I am not discouraging any one aspiring to realise their automobile dreams and their wish for the latest technology adoptions but I was only trying to note down few points that you should not be ignoring. As many of the major youtubers and social media influncers will be only aligned with manufacturers and their business agendas.
Yes, if any complaints on these sophisticated and complex system, repair cost will be high. Companies are employing brilliant engineers, they are going on making new inventions to generate money. all part of system and game.

No don't you get it bro, this is for "semi enthusiasts". As in for those who love shifting or rowing by themselves.
The reason why I said semi-enthusiasts is because they like to shift their own gears but are either a bit lazy, relaxed or due to medical reasons can't shift using the left leg quite effectively and just prefer a simple and friendly city mover.
On the other hand a purist just blindly would buy a proper manual transmission car with a physical clutch. For them all they care is a fun, competitive and enjoyable car.

@@Arun-yl8kc: well that's what it seems like, the characteristics and mechanisms of the TCU (Transmission control unit) very much behaves like an automatic transmission.
But if you had noticed at 10:48, Baiju Sir tried accelerating or he mentions that he is flooring the throttle and this is where this transmission differs from an automatic transmission, because in an automatic transmission with paddle shifters even if you engage it in manual mode the transmission waits couple of seconds to see if you will respond as in wait probably like 3-4 secs to see if you will shift manually via the paddle shifters or through the gear selector.
If the transmission doesn't get any response, then the transmission will take over and will shift automatically for you and now the car will move forward.
But in this case the transmission didn't do it even though the transmission is more of a touch sensor as in it mimics the touch and assumes you are about to shift which you can notice at 10:45 he is about to shift but he doesn't because he realizes the transmission even felt or sensors his touch but it is not doing anything until he shifts it to 1st from a high gear.
