I think constantly fixing leaks is a fact of life with boats, we’ve had our boat 7 years and every winter is a battle against water leakage! Good luck!
Just a little tip you are putting the ptfe tape on the wrong way. When you wrap it round the thread you need to put it on the sams way your doing the nut up so as your tightening the nut it tightens the ptfe tape and doesn’t come undone if that makes sense. Basically put the ptfe tape on clockwise
Hi Chloe, Don't get too discouraged with the leaks around the side hatch and that includes windows. I have watched several videos where narrowboaters have mentioned this problem. When the weather gets warmer you will need to remove the side hatch and do a thorough repair. You might want to connect with May who has a narrowboat channel and had to do the windows and side hatch on her boat. She will be able to share some tips with you. Life will get better. Hi Gang, I feel it would work better if you put the sheet over the top hatch tape on top of roof all the way down sides about 150mm past the doors- here’s some good news- Summer is coming and I love your Vlogs, take care
Just to add a comment, the water connections to the pump have rubber washers that do the sealing, putting ptfe tape on the threads will do nothing. The rubber washers go hard over time and leak, they are very cheap to replace.
Have you moved to another mooring since filming this? I stumbled on this video and your mooring looks exactly like the one my boat is in currently at Isleham.
@@ryanandchloenarrowboat my boat is currently in the same mooring spot. It was a surprise when I stumbled on your video and saw it. The toy Father Christmas, which is visible in the distance 6 minutes into the video, is still sat on the bench now I believe.
Pumps have to be primed and you did the right thing by removing other pipe.❤❤
Hope you enjoyed watching :)

Good to know! Thank you!
Hello, I just saw you. I think auto glue would be good for places that leak water. They are very strong..

Thanks good advice!
Feel for you with the leaks. You said Ryan was going away. What does he do?

From what I have seen, everyone seems to have leaky windows and hatches …. Good fix though :)
Thank you hope you enjoyed watching :)

We have moved since this video yes :)

West marine multi caulk is a good marine sealant for windows, but the surfaces must be thoroughly clean, best of luck, I know it’s annoying.
I agree. You need something over the top of the boat down over the hatch with a wide spread on each side.
Thank you :)
