Might be worth remembering that s frozen sheet of water on the top of your water tank might eventually cause a vacuum beneath it as you draw water, causing you to think you have run out. The frozen water you threw overboard was drinking water, put it in the kettle😂
If you want to keep the boat warmer get some thermal curtains up at all the windows, the cold air drops into the room from the glass & any heat goes out the same way. Doesn't have to be pretty, you're trying to get warm! You can also hang curtains (bedcover from charity shop etc) over doorways, my little house has curtains on every door & it makes a huge difference. If you have an electric hook up buy an eco fan heater to kick start warming the place up before putting the woodburner on. NB - Don't buy one of the absolute rubbish ones advertised on UA-cam, they're not safe & don't even work apparently.
Dear Chloe, A couple of weeks back we had -30s during the days. The difference being that you guys have a lot of moisture in the air which makes things feel colder. Your frozen water tank reminded me of the days we spent in the backwoods of British Columbia. If you can find a place that sells things to farmers you may find a device that prevents the water from freezing in the animal troughs. Something that you can do for yourselves is purchase some weather strip for the doors. Also light a candle and hold it against any openings that you think are leaking air. If the flame flickers there is an air leak. Hair dryers are a great tool for thawing out frozen pipes. Stay warm and healthy, Mark Alberta, Canada
Love the vlog, well done👍 I watched a couple of van vloggers who use bubble wrap on the windows, cut to fit, and put up at night time, cuts down on condensation, and keeps the warmth in!! Short term double glazing, dead cheap !!
