I respectfully disagree with the comments that this doesn't work with beats. This track seems made for dance music to me. (I was late to the original and my instincts pinged instantly.) I came here today on a whim, looking for pretty much this.
Sinead approved of the remixes in 2000, even though she didn't like dance music and had stopped performing the original at her gigs. Perhaps she liked the younger generation getting off on her emotive voice in a club setting. When Paul Oakenfold played the Rob Searle remix at Creamfields live on Radio 1 she wanted a commercial release.
As bored as Joris looks, stale music the vocals just don't fit like a tone deaf alley cat shrieking to a beat, sweet to attempt a tribute Sinead one supposes.
This is brilliant - I hope this gets a release.
