Time for a new playthrough for me when this comes out. So cute!
I'm in my first playthrough, about 1,5months in. Absolutely in love with this game! Currently at building the truss main quest. Do you think it'd be nice to just buy this DLC already or will it be too overwhelming and should I complete my first playthrough first?

According to PSN store, the gecko was released a year ago?? It isn't apart of the Whisperer DLC ?? It is its own separate DLC Just for the Gecko....😂

If you can get pets so easily from wild animals with those balls, the whole task of making friends and improving the relationship with the pets in town and with Meerkat is mostly pointless. I think I don't like that.
They don't work on the normal pets -- they're purely for taming animals that are wild. And their level isn't their relationship level as was pointed out so you'll still have to build that up separately with the animals to get them to like you more. The level is purely for combat stats and abilities in this case.
