David Goggins has earned himself the reputation of “toughest man alive” and it’s a reputation well deserved. He is the former world record holder for the most pull-ups done in 24 hours. He once ran 205 miles in 39 hours without stopping. And he’s completed more than 60 ultra-endurance events in his career. He started all this after telling himself that he was the weakest man alive.
    SHOWNOTES
How Goggins armor plated his mind and why he titled his book “Can’t Hurt Me” [3:23]
Emotional beings are living at about 40% of their ability - survival mechanism that protects you from pain and suffering [4:20]
Why your mind has a tactical advantage over you (pushes you towards comfort) [5:10]
Where Goggins’ 40% rule kicks in [6:50]
Why you have to face the real you if you want to change and how Goggins uses an accountability mirror to gut-check himself [8:08]
Why you need to tell people the truth about who you are if you ever want to change [18:43]
How Goggins stopped feeling sorry for himself [19:47]
Why people don’t start the journey of becoming who they’re capable of becoming (Hint: most people are content to pose as someone else) [24:41]
The super-hardcore way Goggins deals with a learning disability (you can apply this philosophy to literally anything and you’ll wind up more successful than you ever dreamed) [23:54]
Why Goggins says everybody is searching for the easy way out and how to make sure you’re not like that [26:14]
Tom’s drug of choice (Goggins likes it too) [32:10]
How to find your passion in what Goggins calls “the bag of f*ck” and use your insecurities to transform yourself [36:50]
How Goggins measures the success of his life [38:16]
Why you have to dive into a sack of sh*t to find more about yourself [40:18]
This is the most important conversation you’ll ever have in your life [41:37]
The impact Goggins wants to have in the world. [47:29]
    QUOTES:
“When you care more about how someone’s judging you - you’re gonna stay right there. There’s no forward momentum.” [23:08]
“You gain knowledge through suffering. And on the other end of suffering is a world that very few have ever seen - it’s a beautiful world because that’s where you find yourself.” [28:16]
    “Mediocrity is contagious.” [29:18]
“I viewed myself as the weakest person on the planet earth - my goal in life was to in my mind believe I’m the hardest man alive.” [35:00]
“Life is one big head game and once you learn how to play the motherfucking head game, it’s not a game anymore at all. You can start living your life.” [48:06]

The cool part is by then you’ll look forward to your workouts, be desperate to get there if you miss one, and wonder why you ever lived your old unhealthy lifestyle. Then you’ll start thinking of possibilities of how could be living your life and you will start to work on your social skills. Goggins lived that way for so long he took on progressively better challenges. Don’t try to bench 225 your first day just because you’re trying harder than humanly possible. Everyone builds up to it

Earth, Wind and Fire taught the same thing decades ago with beautiful Lyrical brilliance for those for whom the message was meant. In addition, it is a fact that the exact same core message of taking dominion of your own thoughts you just heard from David, was being taught to children age 8 in the Mystery Schools of my Ancestor's Ancient Kemet, thousands of years ago. Ancient Kemet was renamed to Egypt. But, there is nothing "ancient" about Egypt. Egypt, is relatively young compared to Kemet and its Golden Age.
There is nothing knew under the sun. Or, said more exactly, there is nothing new under Ra. What's Old is what's New, yet again.
The old paradigm was better for individual character and that character was rooted in communal progress. Thus, my Ancestors were able to create the first Great Modern Civilization on earth and by doing so, they paved the way for all other Modern Civilizations that followed - including this current Western Paradigm and its Modern Infrastructure.
There is absolutely nothing new under Ra. Ra, was the Sun, before the Sun became the Sun in this current paradigm.

Only found out about David Goggins a few days ago, read his book and started taking action. Thank you David you have inspired a 58 year old feeling sorry for herself to get the f**k up and start moving. its 9am and already have done 2 runs in the rain. 21 years oldnow. I was in the best shape of my life at 16 sophomore year, until my coaches told me I "was not as talented" as the other players. Them saying this to me absolutely ruined my confidence. My mental health spiraled into a depression. Withdrew from people at school. Tried out at track and everything seemed to be looking up. I was one of the faster runners on the team considering it was my first time. Then, at school what I thought at the time was joking around with someone, she took it as a threat even though I didn't mean to threaten her. This put me in juvie. And i lost all my athletic progress that I worked hard to make. Graduating HS in 2020 didn't help matters either since i couldnt get my record expunged. Now Im 21 working in construction, getting tired of being mediocre. I am now working on doing what my older brother wished he could have done: Join the Marines. Wish me luck.

It's funny...my boyfriend actually told me "what would Goggins do?" when I was feeling so discouraged and about to give up. I didn't tell him that it kinda made me smile because he knows I have great respect for David Goggins.
