@@JakeLDS Gutting, I was all set for Friday then on Wednesday one of my housemates got a positive so I'm isolating until Saturday so cant make this week either. Soon though.
@@JakeLDS good videos. Had Bauer turbo 33 years back so looking to get stakes again but Bauer now different company so still searching for good brand stakes 👍🏼
@@louisrosenau1204 yeah good Bauers are kind of hard to find. The ones you can buy from skate shops apparently are not very comfortable. You have to find good ones on ebay as I've skates and then get them converted. I'd reccomend the roces I use, they're very comfortable and not too expensive. Just make sure you get the right size. I got half size too small and have a bit of squeeze. Too late now because I've converted them. Don't let the equipment put you off getting rolling again. Just get whatever is easiest and get rolling.
@@JakeLDS looking to get similar to your stakes that you converted to as easier to get those Roces RSK2, Avanti Aluminium plate and wheels etc. Will look around to buy them then hopefully I remember how to stake!
@@JakeLDS I was going to ask the same thing... 😂 Also.... this is a mad groovy tune. What's it called? Do any of you guys ever still use a toe stop while free skating?
I'm using Airwaves. They're 65mm 78a. When you say good for outside there's outside on relatively smooth surfaces like in car parks and on tennis/basketball courts etc and there's street skating where you need to be able to handle anything the street throws at you. You won't notice a lot of difference between 62mm and 65mm but the bugger wheels help to get over cracks, stones, twigs and just rougher surfaces with slightly less resistance. Like I say, you won't notice much difference but if you're skating 15 to 20 miles in a night like we do, certainly the 65mm wheels are gonna make it a bit easier. It adds up after all that pushing of you have to push a tiny bit harder. Also bigger wheels roll further with same push as a smaller wheel so again, over long distance you'll notice it. Wheel hardness is a different story. I wouldn't street skate in anything other than 78a (the softest). I've not actually tired 82a but I've street skated with 85a and it felt horrible. You can feel every bump. Of you're not street skating though and you're just outdoors 82a might be fine. I've enjoyed skating on a tennis court with 85a wheels because it was smooth enough. 82a 62mm wheels are pretty standard wheels that get shipped with most skates. I think the manufacturers consider them to be a decent all round wheel and its true, you can skate anywhere with them. Personally though for outdoors I'd always want 78a and indoors I'd want harder than 82a.
I did the conversion myself. I have Avanti Alluminium plate. It has a 10 degree king pin so it's great for speed and street, not the best for other stuff but I still like it.
I live in LA and just moved on from ice hockey (felt too old) to quad skating (reinvigorated). I’d love to skate central London.
Love your videos! Just bought my first pair of quad skates

What camera are you using ?
Insta 360 one R. The newer model is maybe a bit better in terms of design. Image quality is about the same.
