I once read the quote “Comparison is the thief of joy.” It really resonated with me. Whenever I find myself comparing my life with others, I remember that quote and it helps me recenter. 😊
Love that quote! Been reminded of this exact principle while reading the Bible lately. Great advice from Galatians 6- “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else” We have all been equipped by God with our own special gifts and abilities. There’s truly no comparison and that’s so freeing!!
On the subject of marriage, I married relatively young (24). I can’t say that I regret it because I now have two beautiful daughters and I’ll always choose them. That being said, I’m still in the process of getting divorced and when they say “the person you marry is not the person you divorce,” wow.. what a true statement. Reflecting back on what “I would change,” I wish I would’ve taken my time to genuinely get to know someone. What was the rush, I had time. For anyone wanting to meet their person, please don’t rush. You have time despite what you’re feeling, get to know every aspect of yourself and the person you’re talking to. ❤
Any video where you are chatting about life; like your vlogs, chit chat grwm, coffee chats, get real with jess, are all my ABSOLUTE favorite videos to watch on youtube hands down. 💕

Laundry hack for kids... I used cubbies as a dresser for my kids when they were young. Each cubby was for a different clothes item. Put a picture on the cubby so they knew what went where. Then had them put away their own clothes and didn't worry about them being folded since the drawers got messed up when they searched for stuff anyway. This way they can dress themselves and it took a load off me. Nice clothes I would hang up but say to say stuff in the cubbies. Taught them responsibility and gave them independence in dressing as well. It may not be Instagram style but its functional. Did it for toys as well. Mine started at 2 yrs and is 22 now.
I genuinely love all styles of videos you film. Feels like real life and a friend. It’s not always the same content just sharing life. Love it 🥰 💕 thanks for sharing!!!
Listening to you talk about comparing our lives was a good reminder. My husband and I lost our house about a year ago. We’ve been living in an rv with our 4 and 2 year old. It’s been a crazy hard year and it’s easy to compare where others are. And want to get impatient with saving for a house. Trying to find contentment in this season and not rush God.
Wait until Gigi goes off to college! I drove my daughter to college and dont know how I drove all the way home through my tears. Worse was sitting down to eat dinner and she wasn't across the table from me. Her spot was empty😩. That was 19 yrs ago and I can still feel that heartache like it was yesterday! 😢
My daughter who is my only child is going to college in 16 days. We are both so emotional about it because we have always been close. I may have no tears left after she’s gone. 😭
I am so empathetic. Reading your comment had me reliving the day I drove my daughter to college. I don't know how I made it back home thru my tears. When I sat down to eat dinner that evening no one was sitting across from me. I bawled like a baby again! This was 19 years ago. I can still feel that heartache when thinking about it. 😢 She's married with 2 children now, living a 20 min drive from me. 🥰
@@jann3443just thinking about it I tear up, I can only imagine how I will be on the day I drop her off. She will be three hours away! I took off work the next day because I don’t even think I would be in any condition to go in. I know she will do great because she has always done so well in school.
I love the variety you offer! I love all of your videos from the light hearted vlogs and makeup chats, to the more thought out/scripted “epiphany’ videos 😂 I like watching people online who feel like real humans that have real hobbies, passions, mundane routines and deep thoughts! You’re a real person that is true to yourself and it is SO refreshing! Thank you for the light you share! ❤️🤗
I feel like I’m grieving every stage of my kids’ life ( I have 3 girls) - It’s exciting and absolutely amazing to see them grow and change and become, but it is at the same time heartbreaking to think they’ll never been 1 or 3 or 4 y etc old again 😭 - motherhood is the best and hardest thing ever!
A laundry 🧺 game changer for me is using the delay timer on the washing machine. I put the load in the night before and set it to wash in the AM when I get up. I get ready for the day, usually with your videos 😂, then put it in the dryer. Getting it folded is another story 😅
I like that pinky lip on you! It’s kinda perfect for spring/summer! I definitely think you could get away with more variety in your lip colors if you were ever into it! ❤️
The lighting in this one is great! I can see your freckles, and usually I can't. It makes me feel more confident that I'm seeing the products you're applying more accurately. And yep, I know I might be totally off! 🤣 Anyway, I figured I'd mention it in the event it's helpful.
My laundry system is I do a load every day as well. If it’s clothes, I gather everyone’s and wash them all together. Once they’re folded, the folded piles go on each person’s bed and they are responsible for putting their own things away. If it’s towels/sheets, I’ll just quickly put them away myself. Obviously with the littles they need assistance, but they’re NEVER too young to start learning. ❤
On the topic of searching for "the one" I was 28 and had never even been asked out. I had previously been praying that there was someone out there for me and that I would be prepared when and if he would come into my life when I came to the realization that no matter what happened even if I remained single for the rest of my life I would still be content. It was just a couple of months after having that conversation with God that my now husband (of almost a year) walked into my life. There is always hope and I think that there is something beautiful about the freedom that I felt when I decided to be content in my circumstance and leave my future in God's hands.
Can I just say it’s so refreshing to hear and I always think of you because you have mentioned it before but about the Pinterest organization esthetic, like yeah why am I dumping my whole bag of cereal or chips in this container etc… like it’s not even worth it. It’s just nice to hear a creator say things we all know but need to hear.
No-one has everything! My life is very fragmented and strange (grew up in 3 different countries, was diagnosed with a incurable illness, went through some trauma, can no longer work or study due to illness, etc) however, my significant other & our relationship is pretty amazing. So I do not have health, I do not have wealth, I can't have a career, I can't have children... but I have love, and we genuinely treasure each other. I am so grateful for what I have.
I love your epiphany videos! Agree, there is only one way to make housework easier: everything must have a "home." I am not a "fatalist" and don't believe that everything is going to happen the way that it is supposed to but I do understand that is the typical belief and don't ever think that I am right and others are wrong. The only videos that I don't watch are declutter videos which I know everyone else loves, but I don't watch them on any channels. You're right. We are just all different.
I love Target, Walmart, Kohl's, and Old Navy for my toddler boy's clothes! I find most of the items are really well made and last awhile - or as long as you really need for the season!
jess, thank you so much for touching on comparison to others, definitely was helpful im a first time mom, my daughter is turning 6 months saturday & i’ve been struggling with extreme mom guilt, even for things that haven’t even happen yet i constantly feel in a state of i don’t know what i’m actually doing & im failing
I married at 21 and have been married almost 39 yrs. I do wish I would have waited a few years, but I am very thankful for my husband. I am one of the lucky ones!
I did the first day of school sign for my daughter starting in Kindergarten and it’s something I have continued to do every year. I am so glad I stuck with it. She just started 10th grade. I love looking back on her photos and see how she has grown. She is my only child. I got mine from Etsy. I do have more info on mine. Like grade, age, favorite color hobbies and what she wants to be when she grows up. It’s so cute to see how her responses have changed over the years. Good luck with your Genevieve starting school. You got this!!
Jess I love your epiphany videos! I have 2 kids the same ages as yours, and you talk about things that I am currently thinking about or going through. I love them ❤
Yes! Having a spot for things to go! Game changer lol. We had this corner in our bedroom where my husband and I would always just drop our dirty clothes. Even though our laundry room is literally across the hall from our bedroom. So I just got a really pretty wicker laundry basket with a lid and it sits perfectly in the corner and now the dirty laundry goes in the basket. Such a no-brainer.
I really like doing laundry by “type” - Tuesdays & Saturdays I do our clothes, Wednesdays I do linens & Towels, Thursdays I do all the doggie blankets. Been doing it for a couple years and it has really saved my sanity!
You have an advantage in a way since you have been through it as a teacher, yes you’ll cry but it’s ok. I cried the hardest on my son’s (he’s my youngest) last day of elementary school. If you haven’t gotten one yet get her a copy of Dr. Seuss’s Oh The Places You’ll Go and have all her teachers sign it and give it to her when she graduates high school.
Old Navy has been having cute stuff not only for me but to the kiddies! They did get more pricey than I remembered but sometimes they have sales going on!
Hi Jessica, another great video, I always buy some cosmetic you recommend , I think thrift stores are good for clothes for children, especially Summer clothes since Summer is just a few months, you can always wash the clothes and some stores have days when they have good sales, I’ve shopped in them for myself and found tshirts from Old Navy, Aerie,Loft etc Shorts too Happy Summer 😎
Re: having a home for things - we try to create systems initially then see how we actually live. And we learned a long time ago not to fight what we want to naturally do. While a hook may make the most sense it’s not practical for some things. Or I’ll say “let’s live and see what we naturally do” and that’s how most of our systems in our home have been created
Kids clothes - H&M 😍 so good, so cute, and you can go for the bargain dresses or the higher end organic! Their neutral colors are so cute and they sell Disney too!
I love your vlogs. I’m a relatively new subscriber, so that’s a factor. As for kids heading to school, I was a bit melancholy when my first two went to kindergarten, however, the real tears came when my last child left. That’s when it hit me that all his firsts would also be my lasts 😓 Lastly, to touch on advice for singletons, I have two ideas to share: always be your truest self and look for interests, not people. The latter is the one I consider the most important. Find groups of people who share your interests, then do the things you enjoy with them. Your best and truest self will show when you’re doing what you love.
Wander Beauty Mist Connection is the toner/essence spray you influenced me to buy a few years ago and I still use it to this day. It’s a holy grail, my favorite step!!! Can’t go without it!!!
It’s so funny, I’ve had some of the exact same realizations recently. I was so focused on having my organization look “aesthetic” where now I’m like no I need it to be whatever is the most efficient. And also feeling the need to have a set routine/schedule daily. Now I just have certain things I know I need to get done daily/weekly and I go day by day to see when I can fit it in and letting go of trying to have the same routine every single day. AND also same for the laundry. I do one load a day, but it’s the putting it away that always gets me 😅
My laundry tip is to do everyone's laundry separately so you don't need waste time sorting. I don't separate my husbands and mine - but my 3 daughters all do laundry separately once a week and it has streamlined everything.
I'm always here for the laundry discussion 😂 I've been struggling to keep up with laundry for the longest time, and it's just my husband and me! I can't imagine how hard it must be to keep up if you have kids.
I love your heart to heart videos . They are so genuine and that’s so rare in the beauty community. I love the new office arrangement. Is there a link to your tree in your office ? Thanks Jess
My daughter and I both shopped Target for her 4 yr old daughter, my granddaughter. The Cat & Jack is on sale 30% off. The shoes and sneakers are on sale as well. Backpacks too! Fun times! Enjoy my dear ❤
for the laundry do "one" load per day but just do one "switch" per day so first day you just start in the washer, next day you switch and start new load and then next day fold dry stuff switch and start so then you only have to fold one per day. and no it doesn't stink only after one day
I have two small children as well... I've noticed it's been a little easier to just do laundry every 3ish days. And also, I don't fold their clothes, I just lay them flat in the drawers. Game changer!!!
For me I don’t like other people’s vlogs but your vlogs I love them 😍 and I don’t skip any of them even if I don’t have I will save them and watch later
If you are going to do one load at time, then make sure you have the basket and hangers ready so you can separate, fold and hang as you take them out of dryer. You can quickly put them away afterwards.
For the kosas spray, spray into your hands first then apply to your face (I know it takes away the point of the spray but at least it won’t get wasted).
I just bought that Estee Lauder Serum Tint on sale at Ulta and I love it! I totally get what you mean, though. I have a love of that type of base product and they can be finicky at times. Beautiful as always, Jess 💗
I don’t know if they have them everywhere but I love getting our kids’ clothes at Kid to Kid and Once Upon A Child. They’re second hand but you can find some REALLY nice pieces for SUPER cheap. I get compliments on my kids’ outfits allll the time and no one has any idea they’re almost all second hand.
We live near Indy too, I have a 1 year old not older girls, but I LOVE H & M, Kohls, Baby Gap (sales only haha), Walmart (I actually like it better than Target), Old Navy, but I actually find a lot of good deals at Once Upon a Child! I love the one on 86th street I think it is or the Carmel one! Also addicted to the online boutique Marie Nicole Clothing for seasonal wear!
as a mom on her last kid going to kindergarten, i get this. i'm going to cry...she probably won't but i sure as heck will, i already started tearing up when you were talking about this haha
My kid is just a baby but I buy almost everything off Vinted. They grow so quick I’m not spending money on brand new just to grow out asap. Plus often the clothing is in excellent condition or even new for just a few quid. Love Vinted.
My favorite thing to do with kitchen storage items is buy the ones that I like the look of, that also have an air tight seal AND are easy for me to wash by hand. I also only buy food size items that fit the container and not have two separate packages of the same item. My rice container holds 7.1cups I don't buy until its near empty, and wont buy anything more than what fits in its designated container! that way we don't waste foods (only us 2) and I can have the pretty aesthetic I want!
I love the Kosas spray - it really does wake my skin up I'm surprised more people dont talk about it. I swear by TJ Maxx for clothes for kiddos... I've stopped using Foundation and I'm using hourglass concealer on my tzone instead. My skin loves it lol
Hi Jess! Hope you and the family are doing well. I’m here for any videos you want to give us!! Also it would be so amazing to see you get a color analysis done 🤩 I’ve been wanting to go do one, but for now I’m just self diagnosing 😂
I've always liked Cat & Jack from Target. It's affordable and I feel like it's quality. All other leggings tear in the knees after a few wears but the leggings will last until they grow out.
Once Upon a Child and Kid to Kid are my top places to shop! Clothes that are like new but a fraction of the cost. I also really like the Amazon Basics for the staples (shorts, pants, etc.).
My favorite places to purchase my daughters clothes: High-end (stupid to buy, I know): The Beaufort Bonnet Company Basics and everyday: Old Navy, Target, Kohl’s, sometimes Walmart, mini Boden, J.Crew kids, Gap kids (especially Pj’s), H&M and Amazon sometimes! My daughter is kind of short for her age (short legs, long torso), so I have to tailor them to her height, but if your kiddos are taller, with longer legs the above mentioned stores will be perfect for them!
Shrimp and Grits kids, the Smockingbird Company have sibling matching outfits if you’re interested in that. Also failed to mention Zara, Hanna Andersson! There are several online (with brick and mortar stores out there) that have such cute clothes for kids. If you’re not into smocking and such may want to avoid certain stores I’ve mentioned. I’m from southeastern NC, so we embody smocking and classic children’s clothing, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like every option and style out there😍 That sounded a bit pretentious, but I don’t mean it that way! Just describing what my family and community loves.
I am in the stage of mom-hood where my daughter and oldest son are in adults and my youngest son is just now in big boy. My heart is breaking but then to realize the clothing I purchase for my daughter now, could still be in her closet when she moves away…. So sad, wondering if my parents realized that moment of life when I was in HS. But you are right, just always try to remember the stage of life is worth it! Bask in the glory!

I like that pinky lip on you! It’s kinda perfect for spring/summer! I definitely think you could get away with more variety in your lip colors if you were ever into it! ❤️
I've been watching a lot of disneyville recently and I'd love to see an updated makeup routine for disney days (something for full glam girlies haha)
The lighting in this one is great! I can see your freckles, and usually I can't. It makes me feel more confident that I'm seeing the products you're applying more accurately. And yep, I know I might be totally off! 🤣 Anyway, I figured I'd mention it in the event it's helpful.
I’m watching while my 3-month-old babyboy fell asleep and I must say that this video makes me immediately relaxed ❤️ thank you!
Been loving your nail style.
I love your epiphany moments and your vlogs, lol! ❤
Jess. I just love you. I’ve been with you since well before your first kiddo. You mean so much to me. Sending you and your family love.
I feel you on the "wishing away" seasons. Although I'm so over this heat!! 😅
It's crazy how nobody is talking about the forbidden ebook Magnetic Aura from Borlest
What a great attitude to live with!
I find most of the items are really well made and last awhile - or as long as you really need for the season!
jess, thank you so much for touching on comparison to others, definitely was helpful
im a first time mom, my daughter is turning 6 months saturday & i’ve been struggling with extreme mom guilt, even for things that haven’t even happen yet i constantly feel in a state of i don’t know what i’m actually doing & im failing
Relax, children don't come with a manual!! My boys are 22 and 32. I still pray to Father that he leads me with them.
Give yourself some grace❤ The fact that you worry shows you ARE a good mama! Not being perfect is NOT failure!
😂 and constant anxiety 😬
I married at 21 and have been married almost 39 yrs. I do wish I would have waited a few years, but I am very thankful for my husband. I am one of the lucky ones!
Your lighting/camera quality in this video is BOMB!
I loved shopping for my daughters when they were young. I was a Gymboree shopper. I just loved the cute themes❤
Keep talking about real life. That. Is what I love about you. Much love.
I smile every time a new video of yours pops up! You’re my comfort youtuber while I work from home 🥰
I have 2 girls 6&7 years old and I always get their clothes at the Children's Place. Such cute clothes, bright colors, always have sales
I love you vlogs and doing your makeups. Keep doing it, we all love it
That top you’re wearing is adorable~
I really like the pink lipstick on you. It goes with your makeup and blouse.
I'm here for all your vlogs......makeup, DITL, etc. 🥰
Jessica I do enjoy your videos, and even more so now, after knowing you are reading one of my favorite books ❤
I enjoy the mix of beauty & vlog videos!
I love the new background! The colors work so well together!
Just dont stay in a bad relationship, just to be in a relationship! I have been there, then it is better to be alone!
Heyyyy Little Sis!!
I love shop my stash videos!! 🩷 I did that this morning too! 😁
Love all your content!!
Thanks Amber!!!
Yes! The Pharmacy Skin Dew spray. I was watching one of your old declutter videos earlier and you mentioned it so it was instantly on my mind
That was it!!!
Try the Ordinary it really works I’ve seen growth on my eyebrows. I saw results and I wasn’t consistent.
That’s when it hit me that all his firsts would also be my lasts 😓
Lastly, to touch on advice for singletons, I have two ideas to share: always be your truest self and look for interests, not people.
Jess, I just love your videos and you always make me giggle!! Thank you🫶🏼
It’s so funny, I’ve had some of the exact same realizations recently.
I would love a video all of complexion products and how you apply them. 💕
I love your heart to heart videos . They are so genuine and that’s so rare in the beauty community. I love the new office arrangement. Is there a link to your tree in your office ? Thanks Jess
I love your epiphany vlogs!!!
My daughter and I both shopped Target for her 4 yr old daughter, my granddaughter. The Cat & Jack is on sale 30% off. The shoes and sneakers are on sale as well. Backpacks too!
Fun times! Enjoy my dear ❤
for the laundry do "one" load per day but just do one "switch" per day so first day you just start in the washer, next day you switch and start new load and then next day fold dry stuff switch and start so then you only have to fold one per day. and no it doesn't stink only after one day
However, things get so wrinkled when left to partially dry all wadded & twisted in the washer. Okay for towels maybe, but a hard no for clothing.
I love that shirt so much!! So cute 🩷
I really enjoy your topic videos I'm looking forward to what you've got planned coming up
We live near Indy too, I have a 1 year old not older girls, but I LOVE H & M, Kohls, Baby Gap (sales only haha), Walmart (I actually like it better than Target), Old Navy, but I actually find a lot of good deals at Once Upon a Child!
I love old navy, target, and H&M for girls clothing! Great deals and super cute styles
I always enjoy your videos! You are just so "real." Hope that makes sense.
Children's Place has been my go to for years, especially for basics and foundational pieces. Jeans are great there!
My kid is just a baby but I buy almost everything off Vinted. They grow so quick I’m not spending money on brand new just to grow out asap. Plus often the clothing is in excellent condition or even new for just a few quid. Love Vinted.
I am one of those people that doesn't like vlogs I really love trying new makeup video's.💛💜💛💜
Sechs Worte zum Support des Kanals und des Creaters ! 😋😇👍
Camera and lighting looks so good in this video. Did you get a new setup? Can you please share what you're using to record? 🥹
Love the new background!!
Walmart and Oldnavy have been our go to.
Yay! I was just thinking that l wanted to watch a video of yours and this notification came. 😊
Macys for sure and you can find really amazing sales
My favorite places to purchase my daughters clothes:
High-end (stupid to buy, I know): The Beaufort Bonnet Company
Basics and everyday: Old Navy, Target, Kohl’s, sometimes Walmart, mini Boden, J.Crew kids, Gap kids (especially Pj’s), H&M and Amazon sometimes!
I definitely want to try the eyeliner, the lip liner and the lipstick in a different shade
