That's good to hear. I think this is one of those things that many of us set once and then forget about. You are doing better than many I think.

Thanks for the wake-up call. It is useful for all of us to be reminded.

Thanks for the reminder. It is easy to forget the safe Z when it doesn't come into play most of the time. Even though I try to learn from other people's mistakes, I tend to make them anyway myself. LOL

Oops! Yes more videos please. Molding would be great.

Let me consider the molding one. I haven't made any videos in a couple weeks because I am a little busy with producing some products for clients. Need to get back to it.

Excellent video, Rob! This is something I don't reinforce often enough. Of course, as you found out, having the right Safe Z setting in the software is of little value if we change our minds about which clamp we're going to use or decide to use screws instead, but what can I say... I think cutting into a clamp is a rite of passage. (I've never run into a clamp, but I have cut through screws. It can get real exciting really quickly.)

Agreed that I changed my mind so thinking about the Z height may not have helped. But, when it happened I tried to figure out what I did wrong and remembered I don't usually think about this setting and I need to be aware of it. Thought others maybe could use a reminder.

@@RobSandstromDesigns Too true. I've mentioned it in passing, but I haven't put enough emphasis on it. I need to do better in the future.

That's two of you that would like to see a moulding video. I am working on a couple commission projects but will see what I can do in next week or two since I just went through the process. The problem is it takes me longer to put the videos together than to do the actual work. LOL.

I just encountered this same issue this past weekend with the same clamp. Being impatient can be costly, I was fortunately lucky with no real damage this time also. I would like to see the moulding toolpath please!

Glad to hear no real damage in your event either. It is easy to get in a hurry.

Where do you buy those side clamps? Thanks for the excellent video!

Thanks for watching. I get them on Amazon. The following is a link to them. It is an affiliate link so I get a small commission if you use this link. Even if you don't want to use the link to buy, you will see where they are andcan go thorugh a different process. amzn.to/3GVAtnn
