Trying to hit the Straight ball is absolutely MADDENING !!! Working the ball makes golf so much more fun! I love practicing both directions and then pick the one I’m hitting best before that particular round or the whole week. That control has gotten me from a 7 to a 4 handicap.

Ive started to set the clubface at where the worst outcome would still be good. Say i want to hit a fade with a tight fairway with tree lines down both sides. Ill aim about 5 yards to the right of the left hand tree line. If i hit it straight worst case scenario im under a tree able to punch it still towards the green instead of having to punch back in then go after but its so beautiful watching the ball go at the trees going overtop landing back in 5 yards in the fairway

Check you are not tilting away from the target at impact.

Thank you Jonathan. That was helpful.
Coincidentally I found out I can shape my shot by intentionally opening or closing the club face at the top of the backswing.
Is that how I should go about the angle of my club at impact or is there a better technique?
