I love this project. Beautiful job!!!! I was so amazed that I went looking for the other six videos. But they no longer exist on your second channel. Is there another place where you posted the 6 videos?? Regards
I apologize. You're right. I was to quick to respond and I missed what you said at the beginning of the video. I went back and watched to build series and it's really quite good.
As I begin to write this there are 121 "thumbs ups" and 1 "thumbs down". How in the world could anyone give this a thumbs down??!! A seriously fantastic machine - home built or not - and a marvelously edited video to go with it!! I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to edit this video. I'm thinking it took longer to edit than the actual build time not counting having to set up for camera shots, lighting, etc. You really like to "punish" yourself, don't you? ;) Thanks for the time spent and the video, Kevin. Absolutely the best home built machine I've seen on UA-cam yet!
Thank you! The editing wasn't too bad because I already had all the clips trimmed down from doing the series. But I was up til 5:30 this morning getting it all finalized. I'm not a morning person, but that's a bit late even for me ;) As for the thumbs down, I am happy that one guy who has been waiting for 7 months to get to dislike a video of mine in the first 15 minutes finally got to do his thing again.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise to see a new krtwood vid uploaded and up to the very fine standard we know and love. I'll be definitely having a look at the build process in more detail on your other channel and look forward to seeing your new, upcoming project vids!
Impressive sander and skills building it. Agreed this is a specialty sander but when you need somethjng with this kind of capacity nothing else would do. Nice video.
The first time it ran with a belt on it I went to go plug it in on the other side of the shop and it turned on because I had been playing with the start button for the video and I had my back turned.
Awesome build funny I was sitting here watching all these wood working videos and thought do all of us have the Bob beard if you know what I mean lol awesome wood workings
Please excuse my language when I say, Holy Crap! That is one nice sander! Wow... That thing is amazing. You said you would answer questions, so here's one: Would you mind sharing your shop with me? For a couple years, maybe? How bout it?
Epic power tool. I am ecstatic to get a new Incra miter gauge for my table saw. This is just on another level entirely. Really have to catch on on videos on UA-cam. Need inspiration to get back in the shop. Too much work lately.
Powerful stuff, great looking machine, and nice rhythmic edit too. Welcome back! And just to dredge up a debate we were having on another video... All those wheels and pulleys you cut seem to make another good case for purposeful, parametric CNC design software in the professional shop. As does Matthias's gear generator serve him well, come to think of it. Though you might draw a fair distinction between designing mechanical parts and designing assembled projects. Anyway, look forward to your next thing, cheers :)
That thing is DIESEL AND AWESOME! Where did you find sheets of sandpaper that big? Okay so I tend to jump the gun and comment right away I see what you did with the Sandpaper good stuff bro awesome love this idea
Thanks! I was able to find a place to order custom belts. I figured it was going to be more expensive than the regular size belts I was using before but it ends up being the same cost per square inch.
krtwood nice!! Win win there..i wood thi nk a belt that size could/should last a while..lol really cool idea especially the escalating spindle.e everything works flawlessly ☆☆☆☆☆
AWESOME sander. How much would it cost to get you to make another for sale to an interested purchaser? Also, where do you get those big-a$$ belts for it? I so wish I could hire you to replicate that beauty for my shop. But alas, I am one broke, disabled, unemployed, veteran that is a full time student studying to be a math teacher. So not in the budget personally. I think I might could build one after I am gainfully employed again, but would need the tool to make the tool as my accuracy with wood is ridiculously bad as I am a beginner who has yet to build the skills, and rarely am able to find time to get into my shop with my school schedule.
I don't think I would build another one for anything less than a ridiculous amount of money as I want to move on to actually using it. Keep on doing what you can and the skills will come along.
krtwood I figured as much. Seemed like you had a few headaches along the way. Yeah, once college is over I am hoping to find the time for a woodturning/woodworking hobby to continue.
Sorry, I need to calm down a little.... You've built quite the beast there, Kevin. Wow. Do you miss the oscillating action on the spindle sander at all?
The spindle sander part is the least effective, but not because it doesn't oscillate. It's just spinning too slow because the shaft is slowed down for the big roller. What I did was sand from both edges on my other spindle sander so I just had a little strip in the middle to deal with on the ESC. I find with the oscillation and rough grits it just leaves this wavy pattern on the piece instead of straight lines, which isn't really any better. But it does seem a little bad if you are sanding something really thin and you have a lot to do that you are going to wear out that part of the sleeve really fast. For me it's not going to replace having another spindle sander. Mine is on its last legs and I'll be replacing it rather than get rid of it. Hopefully most of the time I can get away with leaving a 1" on the other one and not have to switch sizes on either most of the time.
I love this project. Beautiful job!!!!

Kevin, This just came up! You da Man! Engineering , craftsmanship, artistry, and perseverance!
Thanks, Thomas!

Nice video Kevin. All that hard work and frustration paid off. I need to get that chain and sprocket adjustment of the table added to my bandsaw mill.
OMG OMG OMG! So excited to see you doing projects again. Really miss your videos. They're really very brilliant and you're incredibly creative!
Thank you!
and boom - the kid is back - what a build! - nice work sir
Thanks!
So now we know where you been for 7 months!!! Awesome edge sander!!!
Thanks! It's not everything I've been doing, but it's a good chunk of it :)
Yeah, like I had all these fancy tools...
Seriously very awesome build! That machine is a real beauty!
Thanks!
Wow, what a pleasant surprise to see a new krtwood vid uploaded and up to the very fine standard we know and love. I'll be definitely having a look at the build process in more detail on your other channel and look forward to seeing your new, upcoming project vids!
Thank you, Matt!
Every piece you made for this machine looks so professional. Great work!
Sssssoooooo beautiful!!!! Most fantastic homebuilt tool I've ever seen!!
Thanks!
What skill and expertise! You have a gift! Very useful machine!
Thanks, Sergio!
Unbelievable! Hard to imagine it only took you 10 minutes and 39 seconds to build!! ;-)
And I was just sitting around talking for a third of it!
Impressive sander and skills building it. Agreed this is a specialty sander but when you need somethjng with this kind of capacity nothing else would do. Nice video.
Great to see that your back at it! Can't wait to see what you make next.
Thanks, Chad!
This machine is incredible looking. Nicely done!
Thanks!
Awesome job, Kevin! Both the sander and the video are expertly crafted :)
Thanks, John! I got so lucky with that last piece of music with all the transitions lining up, after a little persuasion.
That's a monster of a sander, really great job! And your video was really tightly edited, great job on that as well!
Awesome job looks fantastic!! I know you put a boatload of work into the unit. I can think of all types of advantages especially for furniture design.
Thank you, I'm looking forward to putting it to work.
Great build and video. But most of all , glad to see see you back!
Thanks, Lou. Good to be back :)
That's one hell of a homemade machine! Nice work!
Thanks!
Wow! That machine is amazing! And nice work on the editing!
Thanks!
He's back!
More like he flies over and drops a bomb every now and then I'm afraid.
Very nice to see another video from you
Thanks, Nils!
You sir are a genius. What a great machine.
Thanks!
Very awesome build. Looking forward to more projects as this is one of my favorite channels!
Thank you!
You've done some amazing things but must have had a big old smile going turning it on!
The first time it ran with a belt on it I went to go plug it in on the other side of the shop and it turned on because I had been playing with the start button for the video and I had my back turned.
Really great job! I'd love to have that sanding capacity, but wouldn't want to build it myself. Well done getting/making just what you want.
Thank you!
What an incredible machine! Thanks for showing it off.
Thanks, Bruce!
Awesome build funny I was sitting here watching all these wood working videos and thought do all of us have the Bob beard if you know what I mean lol awesome wood workings
I hope you mean Villa not Clagett :) Not that Bob Villa ever actually made anything.
finally, you're back. awesome job.
Now that is a work of art.
Damn, great project and marvelously edited video.
Thank you!
That thing is a beast.
Thanks!
A remarkable build (and video) -- thoroughly impressive!
Amazing build... Thanks for sharing.
Please excuse my language when I say, Holy Crap! That is one nice sander! Wow... That thing is amazing.
You said you would answer questions, so here's one:
Would you mind sharing your shop with me? For a couple years, maybe? How bout it?
Only enough room for one, I'm afraid.
Have a nice time of day. Very good and interesting video and machine. And can you ask for the size of all the details? Thank you.
Cool machine, I look forward to your next video!
Thanks!
Question... if your drums are flat whick I need to do on my edge sander how does belt track ??
Well, I am thoroughly impressed! Great job!
Fantastic design!
Thanks, Seth!
Very Nice Build 👍
Thanks!
That is very nicely done!
A small price to pay for an exquisitely manicured beard
Don't get any ideas. That mop of yours would destroy this thing.
Harry's razors provide a closer safer shave
That is so awesome!! I'm jealous of your new tool as well as the skills it took to build it:)
By the way, I love the channel!
Thanks, Robert!
Awesome job! I love it

I'd be excited over a new miter gauge too ;) We all go through periods lacking inspiration to be in the shop.
Powerful stuff, great looking machine, and nice rhythmic edit too. Welcome back!

Thanks, Andy. Yes, the world needs gear apps. I suppose the world could use pulley apps. The world doesn't need ESC Sander apps :)

this lever for changing sandpaper did you remove any machine or did you do it?
Those parts came from a Grizzly edge sander.
Wow! What a beauty!
Nice sander, video & music. My only question is about the music. Who is the musician?
Opening track is Silent Partner from the UA-cam music library and the rest is Dan-O danosongs.com
krtwood thanks
Very nice dude!!!!!
Thanks, David!
Welcome back and nice build and video.
Thank you!
Excellent job!
Good machine turned out!
Thank you!
Wow that is awesome.
Thanks!
Excellent out machine. I looked with great pleasure.
Thank you!
Boa noite como faço para adquirir o projeto , deste já agradeço. Excelente projeto.
I don't have plans available but there's a link to the build series and a parts list in the description above.

Holycrapgreatjob!!
Thanks :)
Niiiice!!
Thanks!
COOL!!!!
Thanks!
انت نجار مبدع
perfect
Nice work - I learn something from each one of your videos. BUT - please ditch the primitive music at the start of this one ;-)
amazing!!
Nice machine. I do agree though, keep the hairy giggler away from it.
And your knuckles.
Wow...
Thanks!
Wow
Thanks!
Missing link between woodworking and art.....
That's a sander!
You should teach Mathias to build good looking tools
Oh, I dunno. His tools have their own aesthetic.
With his green and your purple there could be a real Joker motif going on!
beginners havent nthg to do here -_-
Other than the dust collection, all of the woodworking is pretty straightforward. The only machining was to add a keyway to the drive slot.
