This game is what got me hooked on online gaming! I loved the ranking system! I wish call of duty would design a game like this or battlefield would go back to this. Raw and realistic game play. Get rid of the futuristic garbage!

If someone does put music in multi-player it will either distract them, give them a cozy experience, or turn them into a boss battle, either way I would suggest it being so as an option, if you want the music just turn it on, if you want immersion turn it off, giving them this control will make them happy.

I remember playing the single player campaign first and months later getting the internet attachment for my PS2. It was like getting a whole new and better game. Can’t explain how much fun I had with this game. Perfectly executed and ran beautifully. Loved it.
I’m a tad late (by a decade) but I remember being on the Asian map (can’t remember the name) and getting my first tank kill using C4 on the bridge. It felt amazing. Also the first time I sniped a helicopter pilot was bliss. This game was fantastic!
I remember this like it was yesterday. I remember almost crapping my pants when I first saw a real person flying an attack helicopter and seeing it get shot down and the shrapnel falling to the ground in front of me. This map would be amazing on BF4.

I got TWO navy crosses on Bridge Too Far capture the flag (30 kills without dying using only kit weapons) I remember starting to get addicted and looking at that medal and laughing because I thought it would be impossible. FUCK I LOVED THIS GAME. I still don't understand why they've never added these maps to the new engines. Backstab and Deadlypass would be awesome for the old school players, but a destructible missilecrisis map would be the fucking tits good lord
The only truly game-breaking thing about this game was sending someone a message full of alt-codes from the Gamespy client on your computer. Instantly crashed their PS2. I wish DICE would release a map pack for the current gen games with these maps. What I wouldn't pay to visit BackStab and SpecialOp again...

Haha this game was epic, I remember trolling a guy by planting c4 on his heli when he flew off i blew him up. He then spammed me friend request and then spammed me messages and it overloaded my ps2 and it turned off haha i was laughing this guy was pissed off.
lmao i used to pilot helis in backstap at each lvl start, and when it was full, id fly over the second one and jump out lmao, I would laugh for hours, and I remember being taught all glitches like i was in training, I killed like 800 ppl a game, God i miss this game
I originally played this on the ps2, then upgraded to pc masterrace. But i feel like this version of bf2 was better than the pc version. Stuffing as much c4 as you possibly could inside/under one of the civilian vehicles and waiting for someone to walk past it was the best.

Wish they did that with the later BF games :(

This game looks really good actually, back then I was into Socom so much I never tried this, I don’t even think I knew it existed or I thought it was PC only. Obviously this is hitscan, no bullet ballistics yet (that’s what it looks like anyway, aiming directly at a helicopter and hitting it). I wish they’d remaster this for PS4.

I remember planting C4 on the front of the jeeps and driving them into unsuspecting tanks on Bridge Too Far, or taking the Little bird on the map Hidden and flying into the underground submarine pen to drop someone off for the flag capture. Many hours and memories with this game!
That would be called Jeep Stuff in the BFF community. Also I'm making a game to capture the same feeling I had with this game, it's like the saying "if you're going to critic a movie, make another movie", basically saying I'm going to critic on how I feel about this game by making a game that feels the same. But Wait! There's More! The game I'm making is a combination of Skyrim's world size maps (there will be small ones too) and stuff like it, basically a level is a whole segment of how you did in the pass level, saying if you eliminate this officer in the campaign then the next level you won't have him as a threat, but if you don't you'll have to deal with him and his platoon, it's a choose your own adventure like game, and endings will be different depending on how you played like in Undertale, but mostly like CoD, there's a game that one of the main NPCs narrates the story, and he tells your story based on what you do, like executing prisoners or not letting your own army burn people alive by giving them a quick death instead of suffering from fire. It will also be combined with Battlefield (mostly this one), and the Toy Army Men Genre. It's basically if this game had a baby with the Army Men series, so imagine this game, but with small toy soldiers, and in depth lore. And you'll love the multi-player. The majority of vehicles in my game are from this game here, to give a nod to this game because it's that delicious.

I miss this game. It was really good, and I was expecting it to be a stripped down counterpart to the PC version, but it's a completely different experience that's kinda like Bad Company. I was addicted to both this and the PC version for a while.
I use to be so good at this game that I could shoot down the enemy choppers with tanks before they took off and got to the town. The US kinda did have a the advantage at the start.

Yup, if you own an original fat PS2 you need to buy an network adapter, if you own a slim PS2 it already has an ethernet port on the back, you only need to register it on Sony's online service using the activation key on the back of the user manual, and then configure it for online play using the network setup program that was bundled with most (but for some reason not all) online multiplayer games. Battlefield 2 and Champions of Norrath has the setup program, Killzone did not for some reason.

it seems that online has better graphics than single player but correct me if im wrong
This game was amazing. So many hours spent on it. Using the vehicles to get around the map was so new. Also the maps were huge for a PS2 game.
and also planting c4 on the vehicles and using them as unmanned missiles against the enemy
