I saw it on the big screen in 1966. Then my parents bought the sound track. Mom used to play it when we were sick. I can still remember alot of the dialogue. Wonderful!

At the end of this great film his character 's wish Han C A goodbye by telling him to keep on telling and writing his story's ,and then he is seen walking away with them he very well did not give up on them since they came to him when he was dying at the ending the character' s seemed to disappear into the night early morning presenting a new day of adventures to not be forgotten 😢
This was and is an unforgettable motion picture for the young at heart with a outstanding cast of actor's 😮 This movie made me cry at certain parts it captures the childhood imagination that is hard to let go of . The Brothers Grimm 2 thumbs up maybe even 2 hands up and many happy times remembered 😅
I used to watch this film on TV when I was a youngster. My favourite part was with the dragon and Terry Thomas' cowardly knight. I loved all the stop motion work. I believe the brilliant Ray Harryhausen worked with George Pal on his Puppetoons.
I like when that kid of the streets insisted the cobbler liked them even though he kept saying he did not. Then the kid said, "I know you like us because nobody else does." Then the cobbler looked remorseful. This movie had some good scenes, like when the wealthy people came to pick up their shoes at this front door.
The castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria is used in this film and Chitty Chitty bang bang. Apparently , Walt Disney modelled the castle logo used at the beginning of his films in this one..
It was shot in three panel Cinerama (three cameras next to each other, later projected by three separate projectors) and it’s a mess trying to restore it. I do hope they are trying to restore it to Bluray. It’s too good to allow it to fade into obscurity.

Yes Project Unlimited did. Project Unlimited was the stop motion supplier for most of George Pal's movies.
