I had the privilege of knowing Rory during the early days of Taste in Belfast. I’ll catch up with Gerry and the band when they come again to the Flowerpot in Derby on 11th November 2023.
What an utter pleasure, if you gotta do a tribute then they come no better than this. The man even sweats like Rory. So happy to see Gerry keeping it alive.
Band of Friends are a very excellent tribute band With Gerry & Brenden and Marcel There he goes Rory Gallagher's right-hand man Gerry misbehaving, working hard, and having a whale of a time. My brothers and I were the very lucky people to get to Stee Rory and his boys many times (not enough time) we call recall each and every gig/concert we got to see, Many times we would say to each other on our to, during and on our way home in the early mornings that we were very privileged to get to see Rory Gallagher and his band also get to see Thin Lizzy play live 2 or 3 times some weeks. Those were the golden days. I am also very lucky to buy one of Rory's guitars last week, now I and going to have to learn to play it so I will be putting in some long hours, weeks, months and years of practice
I was lucky enough to meet Gerry when he was with Nine Below I went to the bar for a pint and there was Gerry Brendon and Mark Feltham had a chat with them for about 5 mins great night
IMHO, the best to ever do it as a front man. From the guitar playing, lyrics, and always just being Rory. Him truly loving what he's doing was all the show you could ever ask for. Fuck all the gimmicks and personas, just be you.
That’s not his actual guitar . It’s a fender replica. I have one and it cost $3500.00. It has the same pickups and keys Rory had on his . One key is different from the other 5. That is his bass player

@@oigofotos It's a good copy but, like Robert said, it's pristine. The screws on Rory's are rusted from his sweat, the scratchplate is cracked, the paint that shows through, although it's in the same areas as the one in the video, it's shaped differently. A good copy, and the guy plays it well.
You can buy those Rory Strats, I would think if Rory is hearing this he will be turning in his grave, I saw him live back in the day and what the hell this guy is playing I have no idea, it sounds nothing like any Rory playing I ever heard, awful, absolutely awful.

Yes saw Rory live, there will never be another RORY ,but at least they keep his music alive and hopefully get others to listen to the real thing,if only on record or film.

I saw Rory in 1968 in Lausanne Switzerland with Taste. He began the concert with What’s goin ‘ on. After three chords I was à fan for life !
