- Trying to trace down a clue with the problematic Sony pvm-20m2u thats had more work done than Kim K and still has a pulsing Vertical Height issue. Need to figure out what circuit the issue is on and pinpoint the bad component.
I've never seen anyone add those test point wires during troubleshooting. It's a pretty neat idea.
I need to get myself an oscilloscope. There's a world of signal discovery out there...

Anyway, this model siglent is whats considered the cheapest base model scope thats not considered a toy as suggested to me on some forums.
The price was right and should be all I need for basic troubleshooting of crt's.
Keep an eye on amazon, I got this one heavily discounted, new open box.....shipped for under $200.
Replacing the component that's making the signal pulse wouldn't be a bad idea. Even if it was just for science. Maybe checking for cold solder joints in that lane first would be advisable...
Yeah, im just in the process of further testing this V Zooming circuit to see if the problem is that small surface transistor or another bad component nearby tied to this circuit..... Such a pain but at least feel like im making some progress.
I already reflowed this entire half of the board so sadly it wasnt an easy fix there 😢
