I found it very disrespectful when he said that most likely the children had never seen another photographer other than him in their lives. He seems to be lacking depth and interest for the spiritual meanings of those practices. He assumes that the Africans and the Native Americans are exotic people unlike people of European descent. The traditional European cultures also have political and spiritual leaders. He seems so ignorant because we are all humans regardless our skin colour or belief systems. I remember being in Peru where I came met an old lady in the fields outside of Pune near Lake Titicaca. She reminded so much of my Polish aunt who had died at the age of 101. I didn`t perceive this lady as someone different from me but as someone from my own family. His attitude towards 'the natives' gets on my nerves. It would have been good for him to see and don't allowed him taken pictures at all. Because this the same way they had stolen our products and our spirituality power. If he go to Romenia where almost all EU countries vampire academy had settled, no one is allowed inside the castles or taking any pictures. Did Africans asked themselves why?. Not all. The photographer said seen the community leaders and spiritual leader together resembles the red Indians or the Maya in South America, and the guide answered him a small world. The fact is they're one people, those in South America are the lost tribes during the exodus going to the promised land after crossed the red sea. Even though they are far apart from each other yet their culture remains the same. The mistakes the Africans are still doing is that all EU, foreign investors must take oaths by those spiritual priest before allowed them to operate in the continent, everyone will see how they doing and putting things in place instead of reaping or just stealing from Africa continent. Show up to listen and learn. Pay homage.
don't disrespect the very people that are responsible for everything that is. I love things like this for Black people across the diaspora to see where it is they come from & why they may have some of the spiritual and physical traits that they do, but I hate the culture vultures. There’s clearly infinite beauty, art, and science across the continent of Africa but people like him make beautiful moments like these feel more like entertainment. It’s much more deeper than that.
What are the things he said that caught your attention?
Totally agree. I wanted to see the people but so often I almost cut the video off because of him.

“it’s not mental it’s spiritual” - I love how he said that for some reason
I found the photographer in this to be quite disrespectful at times. He could have kept some of his opinions to himself. As someone who is not from Africa, I came here to learn more. He made us westerners seem more ignorant than a lot of us actually are. I didn’t appreciate it.
Yea, he had no filter.
He's quite disrespectful and full of himself. Feels like he is better than the Benin people and their rich culture. Did you see how he showed disinterest and lacked empathy when he was shown the gate of no return? Smh
@@sylvia2798 Exactly!!!!!!!!!! The people of Benin deserved better than that. I am genuinely interested in their culture. Then someone like him gets to experience it and acts like that. I was fuming by the end of the video.

Africans are very religious...they are very scared of myth of hell.
He never said here in africa. But i know what you mean lol
Respect and honor to my ancestors that came from Africa. To see how they lived before taking to Americas to be whip and trained as animals.
This is not how Africans use to live. This was the richest place. Filled with intellectuals who ruled the people with dignity. You’re looking at people who’s been reduced to nothing. Sad but true. African myself . Like the children of Israel who was chosen but reduced to nothing and enslaved because they just won’t stop worshiping fake deities.
@GIFT OF LIGHT I concur
You hit the nail on the head 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾
What is there to honor? Worshipping idols and other gods is what made God “The Most High” angry. Slavery was the punishment.

I find this guy so disingenuous and sometimes condescending and disrespectful to the point of cringe that I just have to stop watching and dislike.
Interested in which part you disliked. The whole thing looks different I can't tell when he's being disingenuous

Haitian Vodou is different from the Beni/Togo Vodoun shown in this video. Haitian Vodou is a syncretized religion that borrows from Benin Vodoun, Yoruba religion, Kongo spiritualism, Roman Catholicism, Free Masonry and Haitian native beliefs.

@@searching8848 lol u do realize that Christianity is institutionalized paganism right
@@BlancoToldYou you do realize that you need to do more research on Christianity and how it's been in Africa for a very long time. Even African Scholars are saying that incoming out with it. The first Illustrated Bible ever was in Ethiopia. Voodoo has not done nothing for the African culture it has went down. Who will want to be possessed. Why would you guys want to summon up your ancestors you don't know if your ancestors are murderers rapists or can be worse. Africa has fallen because Africa had filling out with God's word. Look at Benin it used to be on top of its game and it fail never came back from it. When you fall out of alignment with God that's what happens. Look at the state of Africa it speaks volumes. They need to be apologizing for selling their own people and for letting the Europeans and giving them access help being too friendly
@@BlancoToldYou don't worry about them, they call our history and culture "darkness" so they can control us better just like they did when they took millions of africans slaves, what these "christians" don't realize is that they are white supremacists trying to stomp out anything that isn't connected to whiteness, They are threatened by us and you for realizing the lies that they peddle.
They are Yoruba people of Benin and Togo. Proudly Yoruba man from Nigeria.
We're all proud of who we are.
Thank you fort this. My ancestors are from Benin and Togo. I would never have seen this land were it not for this video. Let's never forget that those slaves were not TAKEN from the shores, but DELIVERED to vessels from those shores, as slavery was then and is now flourishing in Africa more than anywhere else on Earth. It was the British who put an end to western slavery; threatening an end to trade with Barberry states if they didn't relinquish slavery
I love it bro 👌👌
From Ghana 😍🤩😍😍
I like the way he communicates his respect for the people and their land.
It's time for Africa continent to respect their culture and protect it deeply!🤞🏾
I've been born in East Texas country, USA. To date it still ponders me know they keep traveling to a magical and amazing lands of our people and yet, they keep coming so they can study us and use our ancestors gifts for their benefits in this land and they play dumb and make fun our ancestors ways..yet, they have a history of deception and evil that lives in their bloodline. Like their ancestors did have ways for them..WOW. I'm thankful for the richest of Beloved people who still live the way we should..im watching in September 21 2022.
May our ancestors always guide and luv us always...we will complete the cycle of life we are ONE..
He's taking advantage of their kindness and making fun of them at the same time. He was supposed to pay them for let him taking their pictures. He's going to make big money with his documentary.
That's what they do take advantage of black people any king of ways.
He had no clue that he could have easily been f'd up from some strong spirits. This is why many folks were forced to convert to foreign religions because traditional west African beliefs are powerful....PERIOD!
As a white man from Brooklyn, who grew up in the 2nd largest Haitian community in the US, East Flatbush, I was raised Catholic, but have seen enough in my life to convince me to keep a healthy respect/fear of VooDoo.

The people will NEVER reveal true practices to this outsider. We don't.
They better don't. And also stop strangers from entering their villages.

When are we going to stop calling our "Kidnapped" ancestors, slaves?. We didn't come from any Slavic eastern European country.
Yes i think you are 100%correct Kidnapped is the befitting word.
Ngwei - Difference without distinction. Any fool knows that our ancestors were taken against their will (kidnapped) and subsequently enslaved. Kidnapping by itself does not necessarily mean that the kidnapped person was enslaved; he or she may have been kidnapped for the sake of demanding a ransom.

If a people surrender their ancestal powers, shall they not lose the essence of their nationhood.. Shaka of the Zulu..
Will he really be allowed to do exactly the same thing in his own country? Or the same thing in his family? As far the tour guide, he is doing the same thing his ancestors did but in a different way, his ancestors sold the physical side of the people and now he is selling the spiritual side of his people. Well that's what you will get when you base your beliefs on a wood and dead animals. You notice how this praidator interacted with the horse men. I hope he can take some of the proceeds from this project and do something for these people.
Lol, it will never happen.

Being an initiate myself, it annoys me when I see foreigners go to our homelands and disrespect us. Our people don't see it as disrespect as they're highly welcoming. We don't go to Europe and Americas poke-nosing into their religious & political affairs. I don't hate them, but I hate what they do.
Why do we always accept Mzungus with open arms and tell them of our sacred traditions, that was how they enslaved us . Do you think a Black man could venture into such place if this was Mzungus or any other race of people. We do not learn

I do prefer opened mindedness when searching for knowledge. Truly helps ...
Africans should tell their own stories and avoid those who come in to exploit them, having no full knowledge and understanding of their traditional culture. Some of the expressions, verbal and photographic, being used here shows an intent to market videos and hard copies.
