Carvana no matter what the reviews say, selling your car is a piece of cake and they gave me a great price for my vehicle sight unseen. Handed me the check, cleared in less than 24 hours. The whole pickup and check handover took less than a half hour.
Just my two cents as a Used Car Dealer with 20 years experience. If your car has prior paint and bodywork, potential mechanical issues, etc. You’re probably better off selling to Carvana over Carmax. Carmax checks out the cars much more thoroughly in person with an experienced appraiser.
Just sold my 2015 Lexus RX350 to Carvana. Their offer was $4,000 higher than CarMax and $3,000 higher that my local Lexus dealer. Selling to Carvana was a very easy and smooth transaction.

I tried this out for fun and your site was pretty spot on. Carvana offered me $8315 and the Carmax offer I got online was $9800 for my wife's 2013 Santa Fe Sport (92,000 miles) since we are looking at the new Palisade. If your gonna sell to either buy new or used its definitely worth looking around cause to me $1500 is a big difference when it goes to another car or in my pocket!!

A recall isn’t going to affect the value. It’s a free repair so carmax doesn’t care. It’ll only change if you say it has 20” rims and you actually have 18” for example or if you under reported your mileage and it actually has 12k more miles
Carvana does do an inspection at your home.
If you don't sell to Carvana and go with someone else online, how do you get the title transferred and notarized if they just come and pick up the car?

I tried out Carvana didn’t worked out, they can’t pick up my car. For me the nearest Carvana is 125 miles away.
The nearest Carmax is 55 miles away. Guess I will give Carmax a try soon

When you go into carmax for the appraisal and they give you an offer, how long do you have to accept it? If you decide to sleep on it or see how much you could get elsewhere ( caravana private party etc), can you go back to carmax whenever or is there a time constraint on the offer? Thank you!
Offer from Car Max is valid for 7 days. And yes U can always shop around . As long as u go back within 7days you still got the offer they give u

Tried using your website to do the comparison. Does NOT work. I think I know why. My car with American Specs a Mercedes GLK 250 diesel came out of the factory in Stuttgart via the Military New Car Sales program. Thus, it was 4 years old when it came to the USA and registered in Nevada. Seems that looking at the VIN you cannot tell when the actual date of the sale was despite it being a 2014.
For my 2013 Hyundai Elantra with 76000 miles, CARMAX offered me 7900$ and CARVANA offered me 9600$.

I sold three cars with CarMax in Ohio couldn't have been happier they gave me thousands more not hundreds thousands over carvana driveway
I also sold one thru them and couldn't be more pleased.
Only downfall to these online companies is you cant sell off your leased vehicle to them unless you spit out the cash & get a title in your name to it.
depends on how much you owe on your loan…If its not much and they offer to give you more than you owe then thats good for you ! if not, then you gotta pay the difference
@@treboy95 A leased vehicle is owned by the leasing company not you so its titled to them.

How do you sell a leased vehicle without a title with these companies?
Just have to get the dealer payoff amount typically a 10 day payoff and they will figure out the rest. If you have positive equity they will cut you a check for the difference.

Never trade your car in,even is the deal looks great,STEALERSHIP is ready to rip you off,sell your car go to your local bank get the loan you need to buy the car you want.
It’s not always that easy though. Especially in states where there is sales tax the tax savings may be difference between trade-in and private party value. Also not everyone has the luxury of being able to sell their vehicle before or after buying another one.
