The English voice acting is attrocious compared to the Ukrainian one. If you want Skif to actually sound like an ex marine, you will use Ukrainian. The English voice actor sounds like he just got out of high school. It clearly shows, at which one they put the effort in.
@@Fergus-H-MacLeodbased on the English voice acting, I would’ve assumed the zone was in England. The use of voice actors who don’t even try to have a Ukrainian accent is really immersion breaking
Bought the game twice: The Ultimate Edition on Epic Games store, and then the physical Collector's Edition for my nephews. I spent ~$300 on this game, and I probably won't play it for a couple weeks.
It's CPU bottlenecking on my 7950X3D. Just about playable 80-100 FPS without frame gen. Keep that in consideration while the refund window is still up, no point playing a shooter under 60 fps on the cpu.
Yeah definitely not it has way too many bugs even after the latest patch 1.0.3 still was running into my HUD disappearing and multiple progressions through the main story not triggering resulting in me having to reload an old save not fun overall the game is good in my opinion but an absolute chore to work through
STALKER in a nutshell - "Compiling shaders... " and "Cheeki breeki v damke!" @48:30 - There is no Russian vocals, it's Ukrainian vocals. Sadly in this game there is only English and Ukrainian, there's no Russian vocals. Of course to majority of people there's no difference between Ukrainian and Russian language.
Unless you speak Russian or Ukrainian, if you know Russian it’s very difficult to understand Ukrainian. Ukrainian is more similar to polish than Russian. Russian wasn’t added to deliberately spite Russia, some of the developers have been killed by Russians during the invasion so makes sense
It's true. In the Netherlands there is a kids balony that you can eat on your bread. It has a Clowns face from a specific show in the Netherlands. It can also have a dinosaur on it etc. It's just different things on there but it's still great balony.
@GuardianM25 I don't feel that their health regen was an issue *laughs in saiga* but seriously, I wish they'd have either nerfed their damage output or health, not both.
Yes, I agree with you Alex about the accent in the English dub, they did a great job with the English dub for Metro Exodus. I played first Stalker with Russian dub and subtitles and now I play with Ukrainian dub ((which is even better and more authentic). I recommend you to do that as well for atmosphere. I know you don't like to subtitles in the US but give it try.
I'd give it a week or two before a full review. They'll have the game mostly polished by then. Most ppl who hold off on playing/buying (like me) will want a review that's about the polished version, not the close-to-launch/broken version. Looking forward to it 👍
it's not going to be done in 2 weeks, to get the alife system fixed will take several months and then there are the numerous mission scripting bugs on mid to late game

@rebotsomat I know Sony is mostly to blame, but they were still dishonest about it. Gamers can be patient and will wait for a good game. They could have won over more people if they just said upfront that the game would be lacking features due to deadline issues but that they were committed to making good on their claims. Which they eventually did. People don't like to be misled, and telling the truth, even if it sucked, would have solved the issue. Sony would look like assholes. I love you guys, but I’m disappointed that joe not with y’all on this one! This is probably going to be one of the most liked video games of this year. That’s sad that he’s not with y’all. I’m just gonna say it. Hope he’s not sick. Anyways, love you guys still.
It's a cool game. It's almost like Russian Elden Ring in first person with guns and no leveling lol (at least as far as exploring and enemy difficulty). It's kinda like Resident Evil where you can't just carry thousands of rounds and just fire full auto on everything. You have to play it slower and more thought out than other FPS games. I'm liking so far. The first few hours were hard but once you get some better gear, it feels more balanced.

I believe it’s the same voice actor that plays the protagonist in Cyberpunk 2077 and Atomic Heart, He is so annoying, I despise his voice acting.
