It's been a few years since I read them, but wasn't there a kind of hell's kitchen thing going on in The Infernal City/Lord of Souls? From what I remember didn't each lord have a kitchen run by 'daedra' that would compete to have the best meals, but the kitchens/chefs could invade each other? I thought it was pretty cool. Also, ashamed to say I laughed at "see you next year haw haw haw!" quite a bit.
In ESO, there's a book written BY A DREMORA. Forgot the name, but it showed how he HATED to be summoned, and almost even killed his master, but couldn't because as soon as the binding spell wore off, the conjuration spell also did
I think a good example of Dremora in Elder Scrolls Online is Lyranth. The player can potentially come in contact and interact with her/her/it several times.
I remember reading about xivkyn having an obsession to collect soul gems and souls. I remember writing a xivkyn char for a tabletop game, that was basically obsessed over vampirism, and known it's inner workings. Because they thought it was the most efficient way to collect souls x'D given vampires when they die are doomed to find themselves in Coldharbour.
Would be interesting to see deep conjuration knowledge go more in the direction of sending a missive to a Varlet or Churl, and through this communication, get invited through to their plane of Oblivion, and asked to prove yourself in combat to prove yourself worthy of making a pact. Later, you help your Dremora rise through the ranks faster than normal, and earning his true loyalty.
I came up with a new Skyrim build I call the prototype Xivkyn: Basically use a mod or role play as a dremora that when molag bal was experimenting with trying to combine the dremora and Xivilai, you were what was originally made. You are xivkyn in the sense that you are a dremora that can transform into a xivilai (which is your vampire lord form), this technically both. It works even better as vampires and especially vampire lords are directly of molag bal's creation as well as the vampire lord form looks very similar to xivilai and the clothe they wear
You can still summon a Dremora lord even as a novice conjurer if you have enough magicka to cast the spell, and keep them under your control. Imagine how that feels for a Dremora that's being summoned.
A question that I would love to hear you guys talk about. “What do Daedric princes want?” As in, when famous wizards and world leaders made deals with daedra, what sort of things would they even consider to be a fair trade for their services?
Love these podcasts guys. Here’s some thoughts of mine: 1) Around 9:50, you mention summoned dremora being forced to act against their prince. I remember there being a book in ESO written by a dremora that had that very same situation; he was being forced to fight Mannimarco’s minions while the necromancer was allied with Molag Bal. 2) That’s interesting that kynreeve essentially means “sheriff,” given that reeve means is basically a sheriff in Anglo-Saxon tongue (since you played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you hear it especially in the Lunden arc). 3. I kept wanting to mention the correct pronunciation of “xivilai” to you guys but I kept forgetting, but did you know it’s vocalized in ES IV: Oblivion? In Paradise, the dremora Kathutet says he wants you to free “the xivilai Anaxes” from the Mythic Dawn who trapped him.
1:27 They don't have "organisation" because they are not me or my Knights of Order who can paralyse anyone for 24 Hours just using their awesomeness. They all don't know that that claim is wrong...

A good lore explanation to get a Dremora to to honour his binding to the summons, would be to only summon them for a feat worthy of bragging rights on their return to Oblivion... For instance; "(Dremora) I was summoned to Mundus to slay a hundred mortals!" Rather than; _"(Dremora) I was spam summoned to Mundus by a pathetic mortal to lvl his Conjuration skill!"_
I had a dream last night where I met Scott in Tesco, but he had Drew's voice and Michaels hair, is this amouranth? Is it because I started reading koda?
Woah really?! Was it a quest??? I've never had the privilege of playing it. I've watched tons of playthroughs though. I've only played Oblivion and skyrim.
I felt the other clans were rather underused in ES Oblivion. The one Xivilai we all remember is literally the one that is a random event that can happen at any lvl so it can either be easy or you're larfin at this big demon fuck trying to beat you to death with an iron great hammer. I honestly hope they do start involving more daedra in a more detailed way and they all are supposed to have personalities it's just we haven't really given them much. Maybe that could be worked on in the next one. Either way I can't wait to mod it to hell like all the rest.
I bet the Dremora and all the things named Mora have something to do with the hist trees. Like the Dremora and the Argonians could be the same. Both could just be vessels. The Dremora are vessels of some Daedric soul, while the Argonians are vessels for the hist.
Idk, but Argonians are fucking awesome! Did you know they can breath underwater?!?! Whaaaaaaaaa?!?! That’s insane! I can’t wait for there to be more to do underwater...
Which is typically stronger lore wise? Xivilai or Xivkyn? The Xivilai look down on the Dremora but does anyone know how the Xivilai view the Xivikyn and vice versa?
14:12 Duke doesn’t necessarily mean that you own Land, the word Duke comes from latin Dux/Greek Doux which means a high level military officer and Count comes from Comite which means a person within an Assembly, like a Committee
That's the ancient definition however even the byzantines called their Dukes doux which kinda contradicts that so they're definitely correct on saying that a Duke is a person who holds a duchy
@@ciaranmck4469 Doux in the Byzantine empire was used for Admirals (Megadoukas) and also a Honorary title for Family members of the Emperor, it rarely conferred an estate. People who actually “owned” land and can be compared to the Dukes of Western Europe where Strategoi (Military Commanders of a Themata) and Katepans (Military Commanders of a Province not connected to Greece or Asia Minor) I was making the case that maybe when using Duke they are using the Antiquated meaning of Duke as a Military title as opposed to the Modern notion of Duke being that of a Landed Aristocrat, because Dremora are such Martial creatures and it doesn’t seem right that they would be some sedentary beings taking care of an estate like a Western European aristocrat.
@@sebastianprimomija8375 is that why nikephoros III was made doux of Thessalonica which was a duchy in the middle 11th century in the byzantine empire It seems past the 9th century doux and thus Duke took a new definition from its ancient definition Obviously your point still stands but still it's a very *old* saying and they're probably right in the definition they use
I kind of wonder if the twilights, scamps, and other "non-sentient" deadra are all more like vessels and a hive-mind controlled by powerful lesser deadra like the dremora
I thought "Mora" means "wood" in Elven, not Daedric. Could just be that the syllables for "Mora" appear in both languages without meaning the same thing.
SHOT IN THE DARK - Dre-mora = (something like) Dead-woods? We know daedric princes can't create, only manipulate. Maybe the dremora where in some way made from the old hist trees from the last calpe. Would also explain the connection between hist and daedric realms & the (now it's been pointed out) weird mora in their name?
I mean dremora is the name that people of nirn have given them so your argument kinda falls apart straight away They call themselves kyn and kynaz ('the people' and 'of the kyn') And the dremora are in service to dagon not the hist
The accident freeing of a dremora by receiving a free gift makes sense as a reason why you need to summon and unbound dremora to get a sigil stone in the conjuration ritual spell.
I would love a game in Oblivion, imagine seeing all the realms and how their civilisation works and seeing that they just might not be so different to mortals.

Podcast on the vampire clans ?
Hey guys! Could you do a video on the architectural styles of the different races?
I love Lyranth in ESO
People who actually “owned” land and can be compared to the Dukes of Western Europe where Strategoi (Military Commanders of a Themata) and Katepans (Military Commanders of a Province not connected to Greece or Asia Minor)
I was making the case that maybe when using Duke they are using the Antiquated meaning of Duke as a Military title as opposed to the Modern notion of Duke being that of a Landed Aristocrat, because Dremora are such Martial creatures and it doesn’t seem right that they would be some sedentary beings taking care of an estate like a Western European aristocrat.
@@sebastianprimomija8375 is that why nikephoros III was made doux of Thessalonica which was a duchy in the middle 11th century in the byzantine empire
It seems past the 9th century doux and thus Duke took a new definition from its ancient definition
Obviously your point still stands but still it's a very *old* saying and they're probably right in the definition they use
Anyone here ever find the 1 female dremora through that 1 Oblivion gate in ES4?
Are the Spiderkith of Mephala related to dremora/skaafin in anyway or are they as different as men are from mer?
I kind of wonder if the twilights, scamps, and other "non-sentient" deadra are all more like vessels and a hive-mind controlled by powerful lesser deadra like the dremora
I thought "Mora" means "wood" in Elven, not Daedric. Could just be that the syllables for "Mora" appear in both languages without meaning the same thing.
I've always wished Dremora were playable, even though it doesn't make sense
Mods
SHOT IN THE DARK - Dre-mora = (something like) Dead-woods? We know daedric princes can't create, only manipulate. Maybe the dremora where in some way made from the old hist trees from the last calpe. Would also explain the connection between hist and daedric realms & the (now it's been pointed out) weird mora in their name?
I mean dremora is the name that people of nirn have given them so your argument kinda falls apart straight away
They call themselves kyn and kynaz ('the people' and 'of the kyn')
And the dremora are in service to dagon not the hist
Why would spirits fall into races? Do they choose to?
When are we getting a new Skyrim build

Your smiles are incredibly infectious.
Saul Goodman’s a Dremora confirmed
The accident freeing of a dremora by receiving a free gift makes sense as a reason why you need to summon and unbound dremora to get a sigil stone in the conjuration ritual spell.
Thank you! Stay safe guys! 😄
I would love a game in Oblivion, imagine seeing all the realms and how their civilisation works and seeing that they just might not be so different to mortals.
AHHHH!! Sun bro!
And for that matter, why didn't Dagon intervene on his own when he wouldn't even have needed the invitation to do so?
Have you guys heard of the new Werewolf: The Apocalypse game, it looks like it could be really good.
Could you guys do a video of your definitive fudgemuppet stamp of approval skyrim mod load order
Great Rambling very informative and entertaining 😁👍
So were there ever a group of mortals who dedicated their lives to fighting dremora ?
Technically all of Tamriel during the oblivion crisis lol, but also the Vigilants of Stendar have always hunted deadra
Does anyone else think that Scott looks disturbingly like Holden from the Expanse, if he was also Genghis Khan simultaneously?
