Yes, pretty much. Lilith has some deep pockets (especially considering this is their flagship IP), and very aggressive marketing is their cup of tea. They're also known for very aggressive p2w, so proceed with caution (great art tho)
ye I agree most of these games are "f2p friendly" at first, but when they start to get an audience, they turn the switch then dump them with the p2w systems and mechanics. Personally I like gacha games but I never spend. I just ignore any aspects of the competitive ladder and if the game is boring or the gameplay just gets terrible then I quit.

Ya I advocate for F2P content in every game I play. If a game can't be enjoyed or beaten as a f2p player (minus the pvp aspects) then I don't enjoy it. AFK Journey has been enjoyable as a f2p so far but like someone said earlier, you should always be wary of future changes & direction change of the game (therefore I go f2p in all of these games)
To be fair it is an AFK game, so you'll still be getting SOME progress while playing other games (Plus I doubt WuWa wont have some sort of energy system like HSR and such that keeps your daily grinding at a minimum)

For sure! idle games are definitely not for everyone. And ya there's a ton of action combat games coming soon that look interesting! Duet Night, WuWa, Endfield, Azur Promilia, ZZZ. Holy... a little too many maybe LOL

Personally, I feel that the devaluation of supposed deluxe characters via reducing their rarity could be detrimental to the game. The results of such would be having a game that does not use its gacha mechanics to its advantage and rather make it so that the game would be better off without it. With most games like this, they attain financial prosperity through the hype and anticipation of rare units that would potentially change the way the game is played, and without this, players would instead be unmotivated to play at all once they discover how easy it is to gain these characters. In the end, AFK Journey needs to focus on its core gameplay, appeal to its target demographic, and stop being so “generous” if they would like to succeed.
I’ve realised I’ve written excessively, but another point to add; the core gameplay isn’t quite appealing to a broad range of people. Unlike your standard RPGs or turn based games, auto chess is quite a newly established niche. Thus, I doubt that the game would find a loyal audience in the first place.

I see, so the genre is accepted and popular. Seeing success of similar games, as well as Dislyte, equipped with the same generous philosophy, the game could do well. However, I don’t think it would get mainstream media attention to the extent of HSR, Arknights and others, observing that the marketing makes people feel that it is another RAID or AFK Arena.
