[Outer Planets] Stock SSTO To Tekto - KSP
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- After learning how to use gravity assists I head to Tekto, a moon of the Saturn-like planet 'Sarnus' which orbits way out past Jool. Tekto is a Titan analogue so it has a thick atmosphere and low gravity meaning an aerospike was required to maintain efficiency in its atmosphere that extends 100km above the surface!

@@luizfernando4497 congrats its been nine months any baby's being born near uou?
Me wondering why don't just move your wings further rearward and balance your fuel CoG change 🤨
Congrats on 25000 subscribers!
Thanks, Matt! You've done a great job, too - almost at 26,000 now!
nice to see you here Matt :)
Challenge:build an SSTO without angle snap.
Hard mode:land on Mun
Super mode:don't use LV-N "Nerv" Atomic Rocket Motor
Sergey Korovichev hardest mode ever disable symmetry and only use solid fuel >:)
Even harder mode: Put a part count of 15!!!!
And he lands at KSC.
That's it.
Here's everything I have.
Take it.
You must be a deity.
Phh, he lands on the ksc in EVERY SINGLE MISSION he does
@Mr _G4mer Ok, "Mr. G4mer".
@@geryz7549 Not in the SRBs to laythe
if you count never leaving the atmosphere then im a god XD
When you've been to every planet in the game so you get mods to have more planets. Gg
Poor Bill spent 17 years alone in space.
+Abdur Rahman At least he saw kerbin twice during the trip... (ignoreing takeoff and return)
My personal theory (and justification for unspeakable cruelty) is that kerbals are like sentient plants that photosynthesise, so I don't need to give them food, and time-warp is a gameplay representation of the kerbals putting themselves into a state of hibernation.
GenericFakeName
Good theory - If they photosynthesize, that would explain there green color - Green by chloriphil (the chemical used for photosynthesis)
Black Hole Aye, that's where my theory originally came from.
You've got to see the 3.6 ton eeloo rocket
6 years and 100 days later, we at kerbin space center still have to tell every kerbal on kerbin that we are no father away from kerbin than we were at launch!
Also, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has subscribed - 1000 is a very nice milestone!
Again, you are amazing.
You never fail to impress hazardish!
Hazard-ish hard to see the ground there! I thought you might crash! reminds me of dagobah...
Hazarding can you make a tutorial for your SSTO to Tekto please? I really need to go somewhere besides the moon.
PandaAnimations the way to go to other planets is to use atomic engines, and don't overcomplicate your lifting stage like I used to.
How is it that every time you reenter Kerbin you manage to place it bang on the space center? I reenter from LKO and all I can think of is "Oh dear, I better put it in the middle of the sea so I don't risk flying into a mountain"
Lul so true
Extra points because you glided back to the KSC after a reentry from what looked to be about 4500 m/s. Great video as always :)
+Robert Johnson (Gaming and VLogs) That was a pretty messy re-entry, by his standards. He came in at an angle.
He learly reentered pretty much vertical compared to normal reentry...
You make Scott Manley Look like an intern under your rein of power.
+Collin Thompson no he dont
Yea he do
+Collin Thompson really? cuz scott manley could doo all this in realism overhaul. you just hate the guy cuz he is popular.
I really love what he does, but even the best KSP player in the world wouldn't make a functional SSTO that has enough fuel to go to Saturn in realism overhaul. It just isn't possible.
+Collin Thompson okay I will agree that a life size single stage would not work. but it can be engineered in other ways. multiple stages and/or multiple launches. I have been working on similar projects for targets like mars, but my computer is just too shitty to run all those mods with r.o. without my game crashing every 5 min.
That's how we make gravity work for ourselves!
Русский детектед! Привет братюнь!
This was the first KSP video I ever watched. It brings back memories.
I bet you must have been panicking once you got through the clouds on tekto "OH SHIT ITS THE GROUND!!!"
+Crux Of Crota I was actually relived since it could have been a lake for all I knew!
+Hazard-ish Tekto planet dont exist in KSP
+Pika Channel Ah, for this video I installed a planet pack that adds several high quality planets and moons to the game. Check it out sometime :) forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/93999-105-outer-planets-mod-181-neidons-moons-get-biomes-and-blurbs-8-nov/
Pika Channel, it's a MOD.
And Tekto has both low gravity and thick atmosphere so seeing the ground is not so panicking as it would seem, a plane will slow down by itself, no chutes needed for that kind of craft.
That is the prettiest ship I've seen in a long time :D
Cool SSTO! great use of slingshots... of course it took him 17 years... but great fuel economy!
And it only drove him slightly insane in the process!
Hazard-ish
i bet he was hungry when he got home. not to mention needed some deodorant and a change of shorts.
He wouldn't be hungry. A Kerbal spaceship has an infinite supply of snacks.
Wow. You can fly to distant planets, while I can barely manage getting off the launchpad to mine Kerbin.
I can get a plane to mun, but a return from duna is pretty hard. I need just 200 ▲v more
+DieSkinlosen Δ
+DieSkinlosen more boosters.
Very nice job on the video! Congrats on 1000 subscribers!
Master of gravity assists.
Gosh you are too good at this. NASA needs you.
Do this with the life support mod XD

I can't understand why you have only 11k subscribers.
The videos are high-quality
and they are no doubt entertaining.
Come on people!
Subscribe to him!
+Edward Nutt
I am ok with that.
I'm always amazed that people coordinate their reentries to dump them right back at the KSC. Great video.
You sir just won the game. NASA hire this guy!
This is quite possibly the single most impressive thing ive seen in KSP yet. Granted I havent watched anything on it in a while.
rediculousness in it's pure unbridled glory
now to try to get my ssto off the runway
Your ship designs are amazing. That was a very good looking one.
I enjoy coming back to this video. Its fun to see what we could once do.
wow- amazing use of gravity assists. VERY well done.
Outer planets mod is the best KSP mod and this video is the best Hazard-ish video
First time ever seeing an orbital slingshot in ksp. Multiple times. Holy shit. Great one dude!
Hazard-ish : Enter atmo at 4500m/s, fine and land at runway
Me : Enter atmo at 2000m/s after orbit, burn and explode over opposite side if kerbin
pff its just simply 17 years, and some epic window to gravitational slingshot fo several times in a row
"pff"
Tekno looks like a gas giant. It's a gas giant orbiting a gas giant orbiting what was once a gas giant (I don't know how stars were formed but I think they were gas giants).
YOU LANDED ON A GAS GIANT!!! Congratulations!
+A Highly Visible Ninja So, I was only wrong about Tekno. I knew it was based of Titan and I thought Titan was sort of like a gas giant.
it's as much a gas giant as Eve
A backwards landing.
Fantastic
Hell yes! I loved the second-to-last music, because it was from my favorite group of musicians from The Bad, T-Square, Casiopea & Truth!
Reaching orbit: Wow, the build works.
Gravity assist 1: Ok that makes sense
Gravity assist 2: is this necessary?
Landing on tekto: How the hell did you not explode???
Planting flag: 99% COMPLETE. 100% SHOWOFF REACHED
Re-entering kerbin's atmosphere: HA! Now i know that he will explode from karma!
Lands: I fucking quit.
Landing on Tekto is actually very easy, combone a Minmus like gravity with a Eve like atmosphere, if your craft is built to create a lot of lift/drag, it will land by itself without need for chutes or powered landing at all. Landing a probe with chutes takes an awful lot of time for the craft to come on the surface !
Hazardish: I’m gonna go prograde into tekto’s atmosphere!
Viewer: it’s not possible...
Hazardish: No. It’s necessary.
*Hits atmosphere*
COME ON TARS
Why didnt i stumble upon your channel earlier? Your videos are the definiton of high quality. Instant favourite ksp youtuber.
Ps. All dem beautiful gravity assists.. Love it
Me: I FINALLY GOT TO MUN AND MINMUS!!
Me after video: I give up
man, you give Scott Manley a run for his money!
Without his video i would never knew that tecto has an atmosphere to slow down and kill orbital velocity. So thank you .for that
I still find the first approach landing to the runway back on Kerbin the best bit. All the way from Tekto.
That's the coolest SSTO I've ever seen.
You sit here watching thinking that's amazing why can't we do that IRL then you check the top corner and its 18 years, one man and Zero supplies
This is some mighty fine orbital mechanics
When I first saw this ship I thought of Star Destroyer. Nice design!
3:40 Did you just... go back to Kerbin for that slingshot maneuver? Absolute madman!
you sir, you rival scott manley, getting to sarnus by doing a gravity assist at eve then kerbin, incredible
You're just... too good at this.
Very well done. :) You remind me of MrOverfloater.
That landing in the end at the Space Center was the most impressive thing about this. I subscribed your channel, and normally I dont subscribe gaming channels. Yours is the first one. Also good reference on your newest video: "Only good there is no life support in the game yet." - true! They need to implement moar mods in future versions.
Absolutly fantastic Mission!
You're a Wizard Hazard-ish.
Just call him 'Hazard'. That's a better nickname :P
Ah the old Eve-Kerbin-Kerbin gravity assist. Works every time.
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH!? THAT WAS AMAZING. You even landed at the KSC... So uh...
Are you a god?
This has to be one of the prettiest SSTOs I've seen in a while👌
Others: Use gravity assists to get to outer planets in SSTOs
Me: Recently crashed on Duna with an SSTO.
Note to self: Drag Parachutes
Pure genius work here. Subbed.
Ah, the ol' Eve fry-by. hehe
This reminds me of the Astro Liner from 'a routinely workday at minimus'
Awesome gravity assists!
So. Freaking. AWESOME!
i imagined how would it feel to go to a long journey just to came back to earth several times to just pass by
Freaking epic!
ferchrissakes, after 2 years I'm just now grasping how to rendezvous with a space station orbiting Kerbin.
this makes me feel like shit.
_(but I subbed anyway coz it was insane!!)_
I was impressed by those swing by maneuvres, good job dude!
3:03 When the Louda$$ Mercury music kicks in
wow, took me a while to lift my jaw - amazing flight!
Nice choice of Music!
I love the build. I really do.
Just so you know I'm subscribing because of the music 👍🏻
this is a ssto! spectacular!!
Kerbal when he gets back: I need a coffee
I find it irritating how easy this looks. The music makes it even more awesome (irritating). I am just starting out past the inner planets with rockets, but not yet with SSTO's. Excellent work man.
What a legend.
the force is strong here.
Woah. Cool
I like this SSTO because it is SO SIMPLE AND SMALL.
Wow! Gravitational slingshot can work like that!
Nice mini-star destroyer.
BUTT. (Basic Universal Tekto Trekker)
Fantastic video!
"Stock SSTO"
"Outer Planets Mod"
Jokes aside, great video.
Whoops! Darn it! I sneezed and moved the trajectory off by and few hundred million kms! Looks like I'll have to get an assist for Duna and eve again...
You wasted 2 years of that kerbals life just to buzz Kerbin.....
WORTH IT!
Send that suggestion to Danny2624 !
I can't even land a plane on the runway from the atmosphere of Kerbin, and YOU LAND SOMETHING FROM F*CKING MILLIONS OF KILOMETERS AWAY?! *walks away*
YOU'RE A WIZARD.
WOW AWESOME G-SLINGSHOT
What sorcery undertook this craft?
I won't question it. You earned my subscription for all I care.
That is beautiful, I'd love to see the "seas" if there are any, of Tekto, because that'd be awesome (even though I think it's just a reskinned Minmus with an atmosphere, it'd be epic) :D
Actually, a lot of detail has gone into Tekto! It does have seas (and I'm lucky I didn't land on them!) But it wasn't worth visiting in this mission. It's also a lot bigger than Minmus, roughly Eeloo sized.
Oooh I see. I couldn't really tell which it was based off of. I'd also love to see the other planets in that mini system :D
Yeah, Tekto and all the other moons are all unique and very well done! If there is demand, I might visit the moons added by this mod more in the future. :) There are two other systems of moons too - analogues for Uranus and Neptune even further from the sun.
I would highly reccomend cecking out the forum for the mod for more info :D
I think I will. Sadly I run Kerbal on a craptop, and it would probably have an aneurysm if I tried to use too many mods XD
Such a badass
God, that thing must fly like a freight train
this is what i call epic :DD
RESPECT🖖
ur the Mighty KSP Lord !
How does this video only have 28,00 views? Its Amazeballs
I applaud your skill, I can only make it TO Jool after 2 years
18 years later, finally returns from space flight to find that the KSC runway has been disassembled.
Well, shit.
+I'mNotGiving MyName That would have been hilarious
Thick atmosphere and low gravity eh? Sounds like a perfect place for one of my custom mods
