My personal theory (and justification for unspeakable cruelty) is that kerbals are like sentient plants that photosynthesise, so I don't need to give them food, and time-warp is a gameplay representation of the kerbals putting themselves into a state of hibernation.
GenericFakeName Good theory - If they photosynthesize, that would explain there green color - Green by chloriphil (the chemical used for photosynthesis)
6 years and 100 days later, we at kerbin space center still have to tell every kerbal on kerbin that we are no father away from kerbin than we were at launch!
How is it that every time you reenter Kerbin you manage to place it bang on the space center? I reenter from LKO and all I can think of is "Oh dear, I better put it in the middle of the sea so I don't risk flying into a mountain"
I really love what he does, but even the best KSP player in the world wouldn't make a functional SSTO that has enough fuel to go to Saturn in realism overhaul. It just isn't possible.
+Collin Thompson okay I will agree that a life size single stage would not work. but it can be engineered in other ways. multiple stages and/or multiple launches. I have been working on similar projects for targets like mars, but my computer is just too shitty to run all those mods with r.o. without my game crashing every 5 min.
+Pika Channel Ah, for this video I installed a planet pack that adds several high quality planets and moons to the game. Check it out sometime :) forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/93999-105-outer-planets-mod-181-neidons-moons-get-biomes-and-blurbs-8-nov/
And Tekto has both low gravity and thick atmosphere so seeing the ground is not so panicking as it would seem, a plane will slow down by itself, no chutes needed for that kind of craft.
Why didnt i stumble upon your channel earlier? Your videos are the definiton of high quality. Instant favourite ksp youtuber. Ps. All dem beautiful gravity assists.. Love it
That landing in the end at the Space Center was the most impressive thing about this. I subscribed your channel, and normally I dont subscribe gaming channels. Yours is the first one. Also good reference on your newest video: "Only good there is no life support in the game yet." - true! They need to implement moar mods in future versions.
If Tektus is a Titan analogue, you should consider yourself lucky that you didn't land in a lake, since you can't see the surface, and Titan does have bodies of liquid.
Reaching orbit: Wow, the build works. Gravity assist 1: Ok that makes sense Gravity assist 2: is this necessary? Landing on tekto: How the hell did you not explode??? Planting flag: 99% COMPLETE. 100% SHOWOFF REACHED Re-entering kerbin's atmosphere: HA! Now i know that he will explode from karma! Lands: I fucking quit.
Landing on Tekto is actually very easy, combone a Minmus like gravity with a Eve like atmosphere, if your craft is built to create a lot of lift/drag, it will land by itself without need for chutes or powered landing at all. Landing a probe with chutes takes an awful lot of time for the craft to come on the surface !
Awesome Hazardish. That 6th planet looked awesome, and the green titan analogue ? just fantastic ! I'm going to have so much fun with this game once we get x64 to fix the memory issues (if we ever do that is).
Francois424 And the mod adds another 2 gas giants as well! When it is released I might head over to the Triton analogue with a VERY thin atmosphere on the edge of the solar system in an SSTO too :) I would definitely recommend checking out the mod in the mean time though, I can run it with many other mods even on 32bit!
Tekno looks like a gas giant. It's a gas giant orbiting a gas giant orbiting what was once a gas giant (I don't know how stars were formed but I think they were gas giants). YOU LANDED ON A GAS GIANT!!! Congratulations!
I can't understand why you have only 11k subscribers. The videos are high-quality and they are no doubt entertaining. Come on people! Subscribe to him!
ferchrissakes, after 2 years I'm just now grasping how to rendezvous with a space station orbiting Kerbin. this makes me feel like shit. _(but I subbed anyway coz it was insane!!)_
I find it irritating how easy this looks. The music makes it even more awesome (irritating). I am just starting out past the inner planets with rockets, but not yet with SSTO's. Excellent work man.
That is beautiful, I'd love to see the "seas" if there are any, of Tekto, because that'd be awesome (even though I think it's just a reskinned Minmus with an atmosphere, it'd be epic) :D
Actually, a lot of detail has gone into Tekto! It does have seas (and I'm lucky I didn't land on them!) But it wasn't worth visiting in this mission. It's also a lot bigger than Minmus, roughly Eeloo sized.
Yeah, Tekto and all the other moons are all unique and very well done! If there is demand, I might visit the moons added by this mod more in the future. :) There are two other systems of moons too - analogues for Uranus and Neptune even further from the sun. I would highly reccomend cecking out the forum for the mod for more info :D
if you are ever interested in working for space exploration and rocket companies.. you should use this video and whatever notes you used to build and plan this venture.. impressive work
Those gravity assists were fucking godly. Can you do a tutorial on how to calculate when planets are in the right position for an assist or how to do them correctly?
Hazard-ish Dude, you are a KSP master! I've tried to build interplanetary SSTOs, but I can't get them very far past Kerbin escape. Well done! You just earned another sub!
And meanwhile, I'm over here like "wait why is my center of lift in front of the plane"

Thanks, Matt! You've done a great job, too - almost at 26,000 now!
nice to see you here Matt :)

Hard mode:land on Mun
Super mode:don't use LV-N "Nerv" Atomic Rocket Motor

You never fail to impress hazardish!
Hazard-ish hard to see the ground there! I thought you might crash! reminds me of dagobah...
Hazarding can you make a tutorial for your SSTO to Tekto please? I really need to go somewhere besides the moon.
PandaAnimations the way to go to other planets is to use atomic engines, and don't overcomplicate your lifting stage like I used to.
How is it that every time you reenter Kerbin you manage to place it bang on the space center? I reenter from LKO and all I can think of is "Oh dear, I better put it in the middle of the sea so I don't risk flying into a mountain"
Lul so true
Extra points because you glided back to the KSC after a reentry from what looked to be about 4500 m/s. Great video as always :)
+Robert Johnson (Gaming and VLogs) That was a pretty messy re-entry, by his standards. He came in at an angle.
He learly reentered pretty much vertical compared to normal reentry...
You make Scott Manley Look like an intern under your rein of power.
+Collin Thompson no he dont
Yea he do
+Collin Thompson really? cuz scott manley could doo all this in realism overhaul. you just hate the guy cuz he is popular.

This is quite possibly the single most impressive thing ive seen in KSP yet. Granted I havent watched anything on it in a while.
I'm always amazed that people coordinate their reentries to dump them right back at the KSC. Great video.
Without his video i would never knew that tecto has an atmosphere to slow down and kill orbital velocity. So thank you .for that
Cool SSTO! great use of slingshots... of course it took him 17 years... but great fuel economy!
And it only drove him slightly insane in the process!
Hazard-ish
i bet he was hungry when he got home. not to mention needed some deodorant and a change of shorts.
He wouldn't be hungry. A Kerbal spaceship has an infinite supply of snacks.

it's as much a gas giant as Eve
