  • Join us on a nostalgic journey through the snow-covered streets of Bad Kreuznach as we explore the former Rose Barracks, once the proud home of the US Army 8th Infantry Division HQ. Despite the chill in the air, the memories of days gone by warm our hearts as we navigate through this historic area.
As we drive through the streets, now lined with condos and bustling commercial buildings, we'll reminisce about the days when these grounds echoed with the footsteps of soldiers and the hum of military life. From the storied halls of the barracks to the tranquil surroundings of the surrounding area, every corner holds a piece of history waiting to be uncovered.
Despite the passage of time, the spirit of camaraderie and service still lingers in the air, a testament to the enduring legacy of those who once called Rose Barracks home. So bundle up and join us as we take a trip down memory lane, where the echoes of the past meet the promise of the future. Don't forget to hit like and subscribe to join us on more adventures through history!

Been 30+ years since I was there. I miss the city and the people. Back in the day there was a country bar/club called Dixie. A lot of good times there. My friends and I use to walk all over the place checking everything out on our time off. Plus many great festivals there. Just beautiful

I was stationed at Rose Barracks from 1985-1988. Was with the 8th MP Co. Which was the first barracks to the left as you entered the main gate. Our Motorpool was was across the street. Went back as a tourist in 2012 and although the motor pool was an empty field, our barracks and the HQ building looked as it did in the 80s. Glad i was able so it before the bigger changes. Thanks for the video.

I was at Rose Barracks from 1989 to 1991 and I absolutely loved Germany, BK, and my army job in Finance. I used to hang out downtown with my friends at the Roxy. Thanks for posting the video. As I would expect, so much has changed. 🍺🏰🚆

Hello Spiderman, that is amazing. I was in Roxy with my 2 girlfriends every weekend from 1991 till 1993. The owner and DJ was Johnny. You remember him?Now young people don't have enough places where they can go at weekend than we had. So sad. Because when all the soldiers went to USA back it was never more the same again and bar's and club's closed after some years.

Yes, I do remember him. I've heard the Americans are missed a lot. I live in central Florida now. I often think about BK and beautiful Germany. I'm glad I had the chance to see it three different times many years ago. @@mareen622

I was stationed at Rose barracks in 1972 + and do not see anything familiar. There are about 100 ties more cars on the road than I ever saw back than. Most Germans didn;t even have a phoine either at this time. Nice video.

Clearly this place was majical. I landed there in 93 not sure when I left but I had a chance to stay and european out as they called it. I didnt but I think I should have. One thing that I remember was that the city shut down in the middle of the day. When I first experienced it I was like what? They offered me a glass of apple scotch.
