Those were some fun times. I was in my early teens when I started going to home games in 1981 and was lucky to see many of those home games before they left to Joe Robbie stadium. Sorry, Joe Robbie - But, why you pulled the fans from being so close to the field is beyond me. At the Orange Bowl, seats started like 15 feet from the end of the West end zone and we who went to the games could make so much noise and disrupt the other team and did on many occasions. If anyone ever wants to know how big a a difference where a home team plays, just look up the win-loss record of MIAMI at the Orange Bowl and at the stadium I still call Joe Roobie. There's no comparison. I remember at one time. Shula was 100-21-1 in the Orange Bowl, sometime around 1983. And then between 1984-85 when Marino started game 1 , they were 18-2 at home over those 2 years. I don't even think Miami has won 20 games at home over the last 5 year's.
Yup, the NFL was at its best during the 70s-80s. Pretty much since 2000's its been getting poorer every year. It was real football the further back we go. Now its purely entertainment and much of the games are rigged. Its more about keeping TV figures up and its become politicized.
Many thanks for th old Miami Dolphin games in Australia we did not have the opportunity to see these games. It is good to watch my favourite Quarterback Dan Marino play the old games I saw him play in was some 1998 & 1999 games (not many). Have you any 1998 1999 games to download i would appreciate Cheers Des
I forgot how many issues Duper was having that season. Tough break with the broken leg and then a few tantrums on the sidelines. End of the 85 Championship game he threw his helmet. It had to pour rain that night and end rhe Dolphins season and basically that era. Losing Dwight Stephenson 1 and half seasons later was the biggest loss for the Dolphins.
To be fair, Mathison was never meant to be thrown into a starting role so soon. But man, was he AWFUL! That whole goal-line interception sequence is just embarassing. Keeps getting penalties because dude couldn't call a cadence to save his life, wanders around the backfield like a lost child while the crowd roars, takes an unecessary TO that only encourages the crowd to get louder, than throws a bad INT after all that. Just painful.
How I miss this team and era so much!

Always appreciated that opening theme for NFL '85 for NBC that year.
Great Games Great Moments
Good stuff...keep em coming
I was personally at this game. Derrick Burroughs of Buffalo fighting with I believe Mark Duper.
At age 16 I attended this game while living in Nassau, Bahamas, one hour flight away.
I was there. 11 years old
So was I .we geezers now!
33:16 Huge names going into the Hall of Fame that year, including . . . O.J. Simpson.

Palm Trees in the stadium , Ah those were the days .
1:57:16 Loved that west end zone. I was sitting in Section 32, couldn't hear yourself think at times.
Buffalo nearly pulled this off……3 tds in the last 3 minutes and then recovering that last onside kick
Those mesh jerseys
Surely the Bills were glad to be wearing those in hot Florida.
Miami could of had Greg Bell. Instead, they took Jackie Shipp.
Fortunately for the dolphins they did not have to play the wild card round vs jets!!!
