All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king..

JRR Tolkien the badass you mean. The man was a beautiful genius.
Beautiful writer that Tolkein...
This is wonderful, thank you
I think i foud the best thing ever today : post rock
Yes, you did!
Agreed
your life would be better if you found it earlier
Scenery + post rock = Worthy life
and dont forget to listen to Explosions in the Sky, that band is legendary
As someone who has been addicted to post-rock for five years, I can assure you there's no turning back:)
+Eli Soul EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY all the way!!
These guys from Paint The Sky Red are a local band from my country - Singapore 🇸🇬. Really awesome band, 4 humble dudes playing music. They are great live aswell!
This album helped me change myself, and get my career and life going. The night of July 17th, 2018, I had an hour-long walk in the rain, thinking things over. After 7 years of wandering. Trying to find myself.
That night happened a few months after the spark of positive inspiration I had earlier, which began it all.
But that night long walk in the rain, along Boston's Revere Beach, was the turning point. And I have Paint The Sky Red to thank for helping fuel that moment for me.
Now I've just finished trade school, and have a long brilliant career out of me, i am here again for the first time since that night, to once more play this album as a memento of success in my life.
Now, on to bigger things.
I'll go see them next time I'm able to travel to Singapore.
Horrible place, best music
I missed their Jan 2021 concert at the Esplanade... I wish I had gone
@@PerkEnd2119 horrible place?
Now that's what I'm Tolkien about.

Janko Radmanović What a Samwise comment!

its Tolkien.....so you are forgiven.
I love you
For me, this genre is the perfection of ambient music. You don't really focus to the music while listening to it. You just feel it and let the music send you to another dimension. It's like a soundtrack of real life.
This isn't ambient. And tbh im surprised the channel owner wasn't pointed it out. Hes more into that stuff than post rock.
I define what I listen to, no one else. Your opinion is irrelevant
@@arickmccance3972bro is not the main character 💀💀
This new post-rock scene makes me glad we have so many talented people in the world again that do not depend on commercial influences to succeed. This work is fabulous. Give me hope in the newer generation. Not everything is lost... Many thanks for sharing.
Amen brother!
ohmniscient not everything is lost but I think We Lost The Sea ! ;D *get out*
If you want to listen to good modern music you should get into metal, for starters i reccemond persefone or dark tranquility which is melodic.
At first I thought your comment was out of place because you made it seem like this is not good music, which i would strongly disagree with. I listened to the groups you mentioned tho and they are both very good so thanks.
no doubt about it. i'm big fan of departure songs album, but the other albums are too heavy metal for my taste.
Life is crazy. We often worry too much. How about relaxing on a cloud while listening to this?
Takes me back to the freeest time of my life.
I could run through the open woods and trails any day of the week during the beautiful Pennsylvania summer.
With my old truck and camper and the roads open to any opportunity my mind could imagine.
What a feeling it is.
What a feeling..
this is a place in Tainan,Taiwan
please come visit us
Generical fishlandia it's called "yántián"in chinese, which means salt evaporation pond.
The seawater or brine is fed into large ponds and water is drawn out through natural evaporation which allows the salt to be subsequently harvested. Also this place is on the west coast of Taiwan. You can watch the beautiful sunrise with the reflection.

Just wanted to comment - I happened to visit Tainan over the weekend and remembering this comment, decided to check out this salt farm. By far one of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen in my life, it really felt like the whole sky was painted red
What a friendly person :D
This band helps a lot when you are dealing with a depression and nothing seems to make sense. Post-Rock music is helping me a lot on those moments when I feel dawn, thanks for sharing this piece of art that means a lot for me.
I agree with you
100% agree, this album helped me overcome a breakup and a serious sense of hopelessness in 2017. I revisit it from time to time because it's such a master piece! Hope things go great with you and you grow and flourish!
Post rock has been helping me since my depression kicked in around age 12(2 decades now). I'm glad to hear it's continued to help the next gen of downers. You're never alone, in your struggles, or on your path. Stay diligent, you'll find the inner strength you need.
@@FightYourCouch 100%% great response Matt!

I don't know the last time I was genuinely happy for a full 5 minutes.
I noticed something different here... people in the comments are so positive. We are not here by mistake, you attracted this into your life, how you feel now is why you're listening to this music.
The only negativity are the daily comments telling me I got the title wrong :D
I just recently discovered this genre, first from explosions in the sky, and man, this music speaks with my soul. Soothing and relaxing with a good dose of melancholy. Scratch an itch I didn't know I had.
please recommend some bands at the same level of Explosions in the sky - I really loved their " THe earth is not a cold dead place"
@@advaitshankar3668 listen to Mogwai, imo, they're way better, every single song is a masterpiece
Man, reading friendly commentary while listening to amazing music and beautiful pictures surely is refreshing!
I'm with you on that.
Here's a hint. Listen to the vibration/message the music gives off, and you'll (generally) find that level of commentary.
2019: Pop, Rap, RnB, EDM --> Full of hatred and B.S. Not bad genres. Just Shitty vibrations
This is a safe haven for audiophiles like us ;D
i hear people say this a lot. that comments are toxic but i never see it. it must all come down to like the last guy said. its all about the channels you are choosing to watch. perhaps when you see toxic comments its a good indication that you are currently on the wrong path in your life, be that a big mistake that put you wildly off course or a small detour down the occasional dark alley. of course i say this as the guy that occasionally visits 4chan/pol. so sometimes i like a bit of trolling to upset the apple cart.
I'm so glad there's an Indonesian who knew about this masterpiece of a genre
EVERYBODY HAS SOMETHING THEY NEED TO SAY ...more & MORE go this WAY ...! LISTENERS are becoming a dying breed of SPECIALS........ ?.
Sometimes UA-cam reccomends just exactly what you were looking for
While We Sleepwalk is just pure bliss on earth for the heart
Of course. Of FLIPPING course a solid work of art like this is tucked away on youtube. "To Everness" alone sold me. Here I am, just sitting here listening to some crap and this thing pops up. A Guitar played by a mathematical genius, drums syncing to the heartbeat of my soul. Oh and then guess what?- A synchronization of all effort and the beauty of mankind at 2:18. Like, who the fuck wrote this piece of wizardry? I'm over here banging my damn head like im at a death-metal concert in a rhythm that could only please Bill fucking Cosby if he decided to spike my alcoholic beverage. Every drum beat is a case of traumatic brain injury and each melodic pluck of a guitar string is an orgasm in my heart, probably not healthy. Now I have to get my fucking cholesterol checked, and buy this album. Thanks a lot.
You speak out my thoughts mate! Much love
I mean it was good, but you should listen to post-post-rock. That's the good stuff.
Michael Calderon that was the best description of anything ever lmao
A mathematical genius?
fo real... bro.....- when i listen to this album-( easily on e of the best post rock albums ever) ...... i, i could easily have, many a time over: stabbed myself through the heart, to release my soul, out of pure joy.........----but being just a man; not too long ago a boy; i fight back the tears but release the pain through my pencil and brush......and i can feel my spirit soar with the Swans over the sea; as they glide over the shores; to me, of unknown kingdoms that dwell underneath, overhead and all around us: from the microscopic to the bahemoths that roam in the watery deeps of space......................
Anyone in 2020 Discovered this? Really helpful music, thanks!! ❤

01. To Everness 0:00 - Just no words to convey how great this track is. This is the cosmos!
I've been a fan of post-rock music for ages and every day I discover how this genre is the best one invented throughout the human history. I mean just look how it affects you profoundly and makes you want to be the best version of yourself. What I love about post-rock is the power it brings to anyone who hears it. I wish every human hears this wonderful music. We might then stop wars and destruction and begin a whole new world of hope, love and peace.
That was beautiful... No words
still listening to this album today, it brings always the same feelings, how the music plays such a wonderful part in our lives, leaving us with the sense of being the smallest part of the globe , we are just the dust and at the same time it is exactly what we are doing here, transforming and destroying the planet, to the dust..
I once went to a hilly area for a summer vacation and me and my siblings and cousins were hanging out on the roof of the cabin at late night talking the usual stuff. the stars were shining like diamonds and the clouds going past us like paint brushes going through a night sky canvas. its one of the most amazing feeling you can get, try it out. This songs reminds me of the moment, we cant control most of the things in our lives but we sure can absolutely control how we think and how we act (if you guys are going though hard times) :) hope you guys are having an amazing day. take care.
Back at you darlin
"we cant control most of the things in our lives but we sure can absolutely control how we think and how we act" - that's kinda stoic philosophy, if you haven't heard
ead it before - do it now, youll love it.
Honestly everytime i listen to this perfection i feel happy for no particular reason, you know that sudden feeling of relief, feeling that everythings gonna be fine eventually, and some other unexplainable aspects of mind.. I dont know man, life's great and thats what i feel everytime im arround 47'. Thank you for this, i FUCKING love you
i smiled when i read this because i feel EXACTLY the same and i remind myself the life is good too :) nice to see this lovely genre makes us feel in this way, have a nice day :)
I’ve never felt like anything would ever be okay.
This music makes me cry for no reason and for every reason.
I find music to be able to hold me within one moment And give me the answers I need. Even if only for a moment ;).
Nothing else quite like it
Victoria Bennett Deep, I like it
after playing the guitar for 25 years, hearing things like death metal and the like......fearing the direction of music. needless to say, this is real music...you can almost feel the original emotions of the artists....beautiful work,clean,simple.....beautiful!
Good comment. Metal was also my first love. I still listen to death metal bands like Death, Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower, Grave, Amorphis, Obituary, Suffocation (in moderation, lol) but discovering post-rock really expanded my musical horizons.
The emotions in particular are what make the genre great. Check out Hammock, there's no better post-rock artist at getting you in your feelings!
try "distant dream".they will not disappoint.

This album is like you've taken all of humanity and squeezed all the good out of them in a bottle and then poured that into an audio system. This is like heaven and I'll forever hold it in a special place in my heart. Soul healing music! 💚
I used to come and listen to this while smoking heroin back in the days, its amazing how music hits when you are sober after maybe 6 years...
congratulations on your sobriety friend.. all the best wishes!
they don't even use words. this kind of music just leaves speechless, a masterpiece
probably the most beautiful post rock album that i've heard in a while
Very soothing. One could definitively do worse than stumbling around here in post-rock land.
i used to lived there, im out now tho. I like this album anyway
Post-rock land? Now why can I only think of Postman Pat sailing around in an yellow submarine, delivering mail while listening to the Rolling Stones? Next stop, Elvisland!
Goin on 2 years abstinent, not a youtube suggestion to trigger me... no more blissfully lost nights blurring my days wandering endlessly in the lyric-less landscapes that burst with hallucinogenic cacophonies and crescendos relapsing into a hallmark of impossibly titanic formlessness, masses in sound, one track an album, all the albums the same band smattering into one another, all their musical color painted violently across my ribcage, a Sistine cavern to spit upon the real thing.
It's come back for me... oh God. To take me eternally, swallowed silently sweeping my life into it's gaping maw... I pray, oh God please til my dying day I pray to take.
And how, but why? Don't you see, or should I say... hear? There's no fighting beauty.
AHHHH, Just when I thought I was out... Post rock posts me rock fuck the post back in!
Sistine Cavern, Gaping Maw, are these hidden MTG references?
I believe Ishmael is again heavily under the influence of Shoegazeism...
Not a bad thing at all, really!
Im at work , translating some papers and listening to this. It doesn't feel like working. Its absolute bliss, like flying through clouds

Pain the Sky Red just makes me feel so nostalgic and reminiscent, it reminds me of my home; greens, all the known faces, fresh and familiar smell, thrill to be there, tenderness of my family, and…on the edge of my seat… simply kinds of emotions in my soul. I am ready to go go home and spend some time with my family.
3am, kitchen, 1 week after a break up. This brings out the everything is going to be alright feeling
The song VICTORY sent me floating into space, its much better there!
"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost"
Gosh I feel so lost and it's beautiful.
When I listen to post rock in general (different albums that YT suggests me) I start to have a vivid imagionation, and I make little stories or scenes in my head in tune with the song. It brought creativity back to me. Maybe one day I'll start to write something.
At the same time some melodies are sad, and it triggers my depression a bit.
what a beautiful crescendo to start this album, touches the corners of the soul
Glad I stumbled onto this. Awesome!! Glad it was on a Monday morning too. It's all downhill from here. Thanx for posting!

Beyond The Breeze
I will always remember
The road we traveled
The hands we touched
The city we drifted
The time we met
The leaves fall
The tears dropped
The stars will always shine
Beyond The Breeze
That we both in and danced
You are a Poet...
seriously !!
Even if they are not the same
Even if this wont be catched in frame
We live now, for now
So future could be created
And past destroyed
And stay light like feather of a crow
Everything. All of it. The cycles: To Love.
It repeats, it always changes.
Yet it stays the same.
To Love.
Every kindness and every crime.
To Love.
To Forgive.
To Show Mercy.
To Show Compassion.
Every kindness and every crime. Everything.
All of it.

this would have to be the find of the decade my god this is pure perfection
We were shells by the sea, laying dormant on the scorching sand, abandoned by our former owners like rags dolls no longer suited for the imagination of a young female child. Former cacoons exposing our relative existence, we were asteroids crashing upon the surface of the moon, like a speck of hair on your cheek, the moon never knew you were there. We are timeless, yet aging, We bark like dogs yet soar like eagles. We were bed sheets hiding the nakedness of our morality and imperfection, hiding the ignorance and distrust of others.
We formed and decayed like ice cubes in a glass of water. Tears of condensations upon the brims and sides of our transparent bodies. If we are glass, then that lonliness is heat. How long til I shatter into a million pieces? A million molecules lost to the naked eyes? As small as a grain of sand. Like an atom we are so little, yet so powerful, see without the plane the bombs never drop, without the soldier the gun is never shot.
Yet we pulled through, like the engine saying he thinks he can we charged on, following the rails of life up the hill. While we were afraid of hights we enjoyed the ride as we dashed down the spine of that hill. We are magicians making wishes appear out of thin air, Astronauts who haven't been to outerspace, Medics who fear blood, While we have yet to challenge our fears we limp to the battle ground and draw our swords, It may kill me, but so long as I die doing the thing I love.
See we weren't meant to be stuck in cages, We are compressed air in a can, the fizz in soda. Stir us up enough and we want to explode. That air wants to escape, it wants to migrate south like thr geese every fall. While they can handle the cold, its better to be warm.
our hearts are orchestras of tales and beliefs, a million angelic voices singing the blues and happy tunes, our eyes windows to an eternity of endless possibility's,
The man who said life is a chance, was a fool!
You are worth more than chance, You have a gift, no! You are a splendid gift,
Unique, powerful.
So project your important voice, stand for those with no legs or feet, see, speak, and dony forget to Breathe!
I know that this was from 2 years ago but holy shit you have a talent for writing! I love this so much since it relates to my sense of wanting to be free and do what I want!
