Don't ever try to fight a rip current...you will most likely lose the battle... trying to fight a rip current makes one panic and waste precious energy you'll need to get back to shore.. once you realize your getting sucked out ...relax and calm down and when you slow down swim out parallel to the beach then back to shore....
You can start swimming parallel to the beach right away. You don't have to wait till the rip takes you all the way out. But your correct in never fight it unless you are a few powerful strokes to standing up or can use a wave to get to shallow water.
@@theambiguoustruth8167 exactly...I've had to dig my toes in the sand a few times...I'm a hella good swimmer .. it's our instinct to fight it...once you get swept.. collect yourself! 🤷🙋
That guy was almost gulping water... another minute and he would of been... can't stress that enough.. collect yourself ✌️🤔 you obviously know that I'm just posting for other people because they panic and there's no reason to as long as you can swim! Your energy is important to save!
Surfers are the best lifeguards!
That isn't a surfer... That's a bodyboarder struggling to make it 30 feet out.
@@Dobertathonthat doesn't look like a body board to me. That board had handles on it. It looked to me like it was some sort of lifesaving board. Our lifesavers in Australia use large surfboard shaped ones with handles on them.
@@petermclennan2416 The board he's riding in the video is not longer than 3 feet and made of foam. It's a bodyboard.
