I find it “interesting” that you look at sales as a game. I know that everyone else seemed to like that analogy but for me Sales is a service that I provide. I think it is serious business to help someone fulfill their needs. Like in some of your other videos - I explore my client’s needs and challenges and try to find them the best fit. I can only look at it as a game because my client and I are on the same team. The win is finding the best solution. I am happy to say that over 80% of the time my company IS the best fit. Yes > 80% close rate. This is NOT due to my skill but rather the skill of the Technicians who provide our service. I would be interested to hear back from you.
Much better than any kind of squirrely TED Talk. Number 3 ..its a Game. Your UA-cam posts are very authentic and that is helpful. Selling is not real life - now there is some useful insight!
You’re so right. Got kicked out of my first appointment in sales ever for literally no reason. Instead of overanalyzing what I possibly could’ve done wrong in those 2 minutes I’m just gonna keep going.
Thank you for your advice. No 3 "The Game" was like a revelation that bolted straight into my sub-conscience mind saying "Yes, I love playing games". Especially where, rejection means nothing but could help you learn to improve. It's an easy word to remember "Game" to remind you "what" you are doing, after working out "why" you're selling.
#2 "Stop waiting for the moment" am always hesitating or trying to wait for the moment that's in my mind . l have just realized l need to just not wait for any moment coz the moment is always NOW.
I've been in sales since I graduated college but my earlier shift is the worst 90 percent said no or hang up the phone. Thanks for this tips i really need it
Know your why - in THIS instance (because I've certainly heard and used it many times before), suddenly had much more impact and meaning. I see now that if I have deep clarity specifically regarding to what is the why that will literally force me through the struggles of sales , and keep at it even in the hardest of times - was the real why, and secret to building my confidence. Now I know it's not WHY i do sales, but my WHY to STAY in sales, and see my knack to it's fullest potential! :) My why before was broader and not personally relating - it was to truly help Canadians, make positive financial impacts for creative and ethical businesses, that also at the end of the day benefit the end consumer - now I see it has to be so much more than just something as general as that. For me now... it's MY OWN financial situation: Getting the opportunity to see the world, make my own family, buy a home, be self-sufficient, and break a line of poverty in my ancestry- THAT'S my real why, and it's my why because although it is not my reason, it is what will get me through all the crappy components of a sales career and continue to push me toward greatness. Thanks Marc!
#2 and 3 really helped. I always think there's a perfect time or I should get more training before getting into sales but I just need to just do it and then adjust as I go..
Getting rejection on the calls can always making you feel frustrated and create a block from making the next call. I’m ALWAYS over researching and waiting for the right moment to higher up the rate that I can get to the right prospects with the right messages. Thank you for the point 2, I will always remember to CREATE THE MOMENT !
I hate sales so much. Every day I go home after not meeting my goals and I want to hurt myself. It makes me so mad I’m not able to make money in this job and I constantly feel like I’m inferior. I’m basically dead inside and hate my life
Thanks for point #2. You know, I am SO competitive that 'lowing a sale,' or allowing a buyer to treat me disrespectfully (used to?) get to me. Ditto basketball. A schmucky guy who somehow gets off a good shot or forces a turnover? Boil, grrrrr.. But, IT'S JUST A GAME! And we do have our pride, but we don't really need that. Incidentally, my first reaction to this theme of yours - and I never saw/heard that before, thank you! - was that it was cynical. But it is not even close to cynical. Rather, it is a realistic observation. A little move here, a spin move there, a fake-out here...voila! A sale! Sometimes (not often if it is a real prospect who made the fatal error of bringing his wallet along while I was there) the prospect 'wins.' But he WANTED to be sold and I never let them off the hook. The last person escaped a direct sale by having his wife drive 10 miles to his office and drag him away! Oh - yes, you guessed it - she wasn't ticked off. Rather, she winked at me! She has to protect her assets too.
I highly doubt this would be looked at. I work for a company that innovates the way swimming is being delivered across the UK in schools . I tend to cold call key decision makers at the school and they constantly throw objections at me . I want to be able to counter something which will add value but obviously can’t take years to think about it … any advice ?
Thanks Marc, I'm at my fucking ends getting annihilated here man on the floor. Feel like Shelley getting put out in the fucking Rain every friggin call i dont know what happened to me, I closed better in my rookie year than now. Really depressing. I will buy your book fuck that you deserve some cash. Thanks dude

Telling me to look at it like a game is what I needed to hear! That jives with my competitive nature

Knowing your why is useful! Mine boils down to this... I want to live my life knowing that I'm giving it my all, even in the times where I'm afraid.

What you said about 'Playing the Game' as #3 tip just opened up my mind! Hadn't thought about sales with that perspective.
Your first step resonated the most with me. Finding out my "why" puts things in a clearer perspective for me.
Just exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks 😊
love the logic about the game
The whole 3 points is exactly what we need to hear and put into action right now. Thank you 🙏🏼
Another awesome VId! Thank ypur sharing!
I found the idea of the sales realm being a sport to be the most beneficial take away.
So powerful! Love the highlight of sales is a game!! Huge "ah ha" moment for me
I really like bullet #3. I'm going to try this tomorrow. Treat it like a game.
I hate sales so much. Every day I go home after not meeting my goals and I want to hurt myself. It makes me so mad I’m not able to make money in this job and I constantly feel like I’m inferior. I’m basically dead inside and hate my life
This was excellent.

How much you make a year at your sales job ?
Last point for sure.
What is the 3 skills in sales to master them?

THE BULL SHIT COMMENT WAS THE BESRT
Tumahimik ka PISOT!
It’s funny how he always uses the same hand gestures, expressions, and emphasis stances to enhance what he’s saying.
Thank you! This really resonated with me today.
