Running a tech startup and drawn to Bengaluru's thriving ecosystem, they embarked on a journey that led them to confront the challenges of finding a rental as opposite-gender tenants. The process becomes akin to tackling a home loan application, complete with the intensity of a job interview, minus the traditional assets. Watch his journey only on the latest episode of The Tenant.

I am a local Bangalorean and rents have become insane. I myself find it hard to get flats on rent as own house and office are quite a distance apart. Even though IT has been a huge boon for this city, it's also a curse. SOme people who earn a lot can afford but some who earn regular IT salary find it difficult. And specially after COVID lockdown relaxation, rents have gotten absolutely crazy and unfortunately will never decrease. At this moment I feel it's better to buy a flat than rent, if one is planning to make Bangalore their home.

Simplicity? Well the huge complex with posh amenities isnt really for someone with frugal bare minimum mindset!

Gaurav Patra appears to be a thorough gentleman who is non-threatening in his demeanour so that a lady unrelated to him feels safe to share a flat with him.
The lady has clearly taken precedence by taking the best room with an attached bathroom which a woman needs.
The people making sordid comments in this living arrangement are revealing their own dank character.
Given the rising rents in Metro cities, many young people are already sharing flats with their friends of the opposite sex. In a sense, this is ideal if you can find a trustworthy person, rather than sharing a flat with unknown flatmates of the same sex who can create more problems.
PS: Bengalis are more progressive than a lot of other so-called modern communities. We don't look at an individual as an alien because s/he is of the opposite sex (or a sex object). There is good mutual respect.

Demand-supply game... Their living arrangement of a male-female colleague itself would have fewer takers in a market that is ridiculously unfair to non-married people.
on top of that, many start-ups fail and do not have a steady revenue stream.

52K is very cheap for this apartment i feel! especially with current rental hikes taken

Prestige developed apartments' rents are about that much and it is expensive. A similar property by Prestige in Hyderabad is asking for more than that. Loot by the Developers. I think, one day, the companies are going to pay the salaries to the apartment owners and we will get 'pocket' money.
