Hollywood, CA based producers W. Michael Lewis and Laurin Rinder were prolific musicians in the later half of the 1970's. The two studio musicians had been involved in the 60’s & early 70’s rock scene, Laurin & Michael in Joshua; Michael with We Five, Spirit and Quicksilver Messenger Service but it was disco that provided the most lucrative opportunities. Other names they prolifically issued titles under included El Coco, Saint Tropez, Tuxedo Junction and Le Pamplemousse and numerous soundtracks to 70's TV shows like “That’s Incredible” & “In Search Of…” . They eventually stopped working together in 1981 after having recorded music for over 200 individual television shows, 13 films and 24 albums under the business auspices of their RinLew Productions, Inc. In an interview with the website Discopia, Lauren Rinder admits to literally living in the studio for days on end, and “The amount of coke I did to do all this you can’t even imagine. $300 a day. I had to have plastic inserts in my nose so I could do more.”
No that isn't Rinder and Lewis it is actually their father's. Laurin is my cousin and that his his dad Arthur (my great uncle) on the left and Micheal's dad on the right. It was taken on a fishing trip in Alabama.
Is this actually Rinder and Lewi?. No they can't look that old. Is this a joke? These two were on fire back in the 70's... cranking out classics that still sound great today.
My dad made some very cool disco in the day and yes that's there fathers on the album cover....
Mark Rinder Your Dad is the DISCO KING!!!
Rinder & Lewis remain the standard bearers in the Underground Disco scene today. Truly brilliant and always get played in my sets.

I love the little jouney it takes from 2:52 to 3:50, some nice key changes, and amazing chords :)
Cool cover of the classic tune.
I think it's a picture of their dads
the beat was sampled by Roger Sanchez for "You Can't Change Me"
Thanks for comment.
Mark ... Are they CD's or downloads of Rinder and Lewis available?
