For perspective Valaverse had 2.5 bucks for 3 years. They also had a ton more problems with their wave 1. The paint wasn’t as good as the Monster Force. Most of the MF figures come with way more accessories. Just like GI Joe wave 1 there is 1 figure that has less to pay for the tooling and options on the others. Snake eyes had zero paint apps to pay for the rest. As for price point… Valaverse was $35 4 years ago…. Vala reduced prices several years latter. Even after inflation. I guess you don’t get many independent lines… they usually cost $40-60…
@@mamunestor Got perspective Valaverse did not have 6 repaints in his first wave. For perspective, valaverse was still cheaper and did not have the history of FMF. Yeah that long wait and endless reveals did burn down my interest in the line. I got exactly what first interested me and don’t feel the need to get much more.
These are great figures, OMF, Action Force & AWOK are all a step above any mass retail offering imo. You made some fair points. At $37 army building is a tall ask. FMF should consider offering stripped down army builders at the $25-29 price point.
@robertsinfiniterealms1308 Yeah, that was a risky choice on their part, Season 2 seems to have more variety. Heavy mold reuse is expected with indie toy lines. But they need to be creative with their choices to keep the figures interesting.
Repainting the delta troopers makes sense because they are from the same military. Airforce BDUs is just a repaint of army BDUd and NAVY bdus all thr gear gets made in the same place practically. The repaints make sense when it makes sense. What we don't like is when repains are used lazily for characters that need sculpting additions. Or when they use a sculpted piece and paint over it when it's supposed to be smooth. So far, Monster Force is doing it correctly. If you were gonna go this route, you should have said that they should have changed up the unmasked heads.
@@bechillin1234 I literally mentioned changing the heads. Also I said spreading the repaints out wouldn’t make things look so full sculpt wise in one wave. I never said to never ever repaint. If you’re going to go that route at least pay attention to what was said
@robertsinfiniterealms1308 it's also possible that they are trying to offer lots of options (repaints) with the tooling they have to maximize sales to fund the rest of their vision. It's not expected to feel compelled to buy them all. Maybe people will just choose which color is there favorite. For me personally, I got a red, green and black sleep walker. I display each with a different head. As much as I hate repaints, idk for some reason this line so far hasn't bothered me by it. and I'd rather the variant exist then them not make it at all right now. It's what ever fit their budget I'm assuming. Having a blue trooper and a dark camo is pretty dope. Yea different heads would be cool but. They give you a few options to make 1 a certain way and the other look the other way depending on how you configure it. That's just my 2 cents. I respect the opinion though. My bad I missed that part about u mentioning heads in ur video. Also just to clarify are you saying that you would rather the wave been smaller with out the repaints?
@ Yeah I’ve literally covered this in the video as to why this isn’t a great idea abd how the repaints can be done better but ok, just repeat the same thing Hasbro keeps feeding us in the subject. “Don’t ask questions, just consume product and get excited for next product.”
@robertsinfiniterealms1308 ha luckily I don't have this "only consume" mindset with the big companies. I feel alpt of collectors know the game with them which is why they just wait for ollies. But yea idk I think people are just super pumped for monsterforce and are happy that they turned out good and don't feel cheap like mcfarlane figs. Honestly my main criticism was that the van helsing head is kinda meh and not as good compared to the Dracula and other vampire head. I do agree that Dracula is pretty expensive compared to the rest for what ur getting. I think Ryan from the marvel team gave the explanation that they don't want to price the figures in a wave all differently because it's confusing for mainstream casual buyers to have 1 figure be 15, another 18 and another 25 so they make all the figs they same price but they pack in more where they can fit it and distribute their cost amongst the whole wave. Now sure to some degree the logic makes sense. But to a customer holding the 2 figs in hand, they will prolly choose the more bang for your buck and wait for clearance on the lack luster offering. But to wrap up my final thoughts (mainly towards the sleepwalkers) I'm kinda glad they loaded all the vairents up front because now I can make a decision on which colors I like rather then they only do the red one but then later they make a cooler black one and I'm mad I army built the one I dont like as much. Seeing all the option up front is a refreshing transparency I guess is what im getting at.

I am interested in Van Helsing and Dracula (he looks cool even if he doesn't come with anything more than an AF troop builder. We will see if I order them or not.
I like the line, but it’s price point will make it difficult for me to buy multiples like I have with Action Force. I have some OMF head packs on order from BBTS and I think that those would help those who army build. Again, that $37.00 price point is just a bit much. Like you and a few others have said, if they offered some basic troops at a lower price point ($20.00) and some gear packs I’m sure that their sales would go through the roof. Good rant!
@@sherwoodcrump3716 Yeah or reduce the accessories abd this the price. I see how that might hurt the desire for like Delta reds but the sleepwalkers could make more sense.
I do like these figures gear load outs and weapons and the story is very fun, but I'm not going into yet another 1/12th scale line. I've already got a bunch of the FMF/Eagle Force 1/18th figures, and that's fine by me. Also, the sloth's pace preorder fulfillment on these figures isn't my thing. But glad there is another contender for cool figures for folks who like them.
I just don't get the point in mentioning repaints, and Valaverse, but not mentioning all the troopers, and how they're all repaints. Like selectively leaving out the troopers?
Not swarm troopers, but the actual troopers, Urban, Delta, etc etc etc. You do mention them later, but you mention how they came with things to make them different, but they didn't even come with weapons at first until Ninja made a video about it. By all means, feel how you feel about the line, quite frankly I personally hate how Joes and OMF feel small next to Valaverse. I'd rather just army build with Valaverse bucks, but if you're going to have an issue with one line, keep it consistent, your biggest issues seem like the price, the lack of accessories for some figures, and repaints. Valaverse started at a higher price point, between the troopers and the steel brigade, they were basically the exact same figures with different colors, and all of the basic troopers came with nothing but hands, and an alternate head.
@jackmaddox4584 There’s nothing in Monster force that comparable to the “troop builders” though. There’s no plain buck that you vs a purchase separate gear packs with, so it’s hard to compare apples and oranges. AWOK does the same thing but those also aren’t an integral part of the line either. Swarm Troopers and Steel Brigade on the other hand are perfect comparisons as they’re very integral to that line just as much as Sleepwalkers and Delta Red. You’re missing the point by looking at something that doesn’t fit the perimeters of the comparison. The troopers serve an entirely different function towards collections than any mainline figure.
I can understand your frustration but the reuse of parts doesn't bother me. It takes time for a action figure line to build up a parts library. A lot of other small companies have started a line of new figures with limited parts and added more over time. For example Mythic Legions or Action Force. So far I'm impressed with Operation Monster Force. I like the story and the comic book pages. I like the sculpt, paint and articulation. It's a good starting point IMO.
