Valaverse Steel Brigade design is what got me into the line by there looks features it was new and different but still familiar having the name Steel Brigade was just icing on the cake.
Great vid! Idk why anyone still compares the two!!! I buy both to complement each other. And yet in some aspects they’re vastly different. But either way. Collect it or don’t. Who cares if they’re similar or not. Other than to try n spew hate. Many times I use both of those lines in plenty of other lines.

@@andrewtaylor940 I think you hit the nail on the head. Tribalism is at the core of these weird feuds. As people become more isolated and disconnected in the real world, the need to belong to some sort of tribe or community in a virtual sense can become some sort of a toxic addiction. Personally, I am a supporter of Bobby Vala and prefer the world building and quality of figures from the Valaverse. While I don't have a problem with good-natured ribbing and jokes like you'd have of rival sports teams, I disagree with people who think they have to be in one camp or the other and have to be cruelly exclusive of people who don't like the stuff they like. If Hasbro or Valaverse puts out a lackluster or QC issue product, I think it's fair to criticize it, but honest critique is not the same thing as just bashing somebody because of their preferences in plastic toys. There are definitely some deeper issues here at the should be explored.

Funny story, I use to be an uber driver in the chicago area. One of my earliest passengers was a guy who was ethnically Irish, but he grew up in England and had a UK passport. While he was in town he went to a Chicago Irish pub, and the locals were trying to say they were more Irish than he was even though their families had been in the US for generations. Maybe some of the figures have a similar inspiration, but yes, these comparisons are dumb. Robert Remus signed deals to allow both companies to use his likeness. Hasbro threw lots of money at him AFTER Valaverse released their figures so that Bobby couldn't capitalize on the nostalgia of the 3.75 Sgt Slaughter. I don't get why people don't understand that you can like BOTH lines, and criticize them at the same time. The umpaloompa Steel Corp was definitely a miss on Hasbro's part, along with their QC issues and bendy guns. As we can see with Series 5 of AF, Bobby takes care of his fans even when he doesn't have to!!!

Look, Bobby's admitted he's a massive G.I. Joe fan, and I don't think there's anything wrong with acknowledging that he's influenced by some those classic figures, consciously or subconsciously. I don't think collectors would make such a big deal about it if Bobby did make such a big deal of insisting he's not all influenced by the Joe designs
