No shiny Hitmontops during the event, but one of the ones I caught was almost a perfect 4* so there's that. Do to having to be at work for most of the event I wasn't able to complete the research challenge, but I was able to get about halfway through give or take.
I got a shiny hitmonlee and and a perfect 1950cp hitmanchan

Meltan is always 3 XL candy because of being a mythical. A mega would boost the xl chances still. But it isn't needed with how easy you encounter them ^^

Well also in this hitmontop research event I got 2 shiny hitmontop, 1 shiny hitmonchan, 98% hitmontop and a 96% hitmonchan so yeah I got a lot from this event
You first tweeted that you'd be luring the pier around 3-4pm so that's when I showed up. You then tweeted you wouldn't be there until around 5pm but then didn't tweet again that you'd actually lured 3rd St until almost 6pm. I waited so long my battery nearly died so I left. 😡

During the hitmontop event my friend and I managed to both get shinie hitmontops from both of our first encounters. His sucked, but mine was a 96!
I got two shiny hitmontop, two shiny hitmonchan, a 15/15/14 Hitmontop yesterday. I also got a XXS Shiny Rockruff from daily incense yesterday.

You missed one of the tricks of the Golden Lure. If the Lure has a Grunt, you spin on it first, get the coins, defeat the Grunt, spin again, and you get more coins. You're welcome ;)

If a lure is on a team rocket stop, spin, then defeat team rocket grunt/leader, spin again. Defeating grunt/leader resets the stop right away.

I didn’t get a shiny hitmontop either, but got 1 hundo and 2 98%. My husband caught 3 shiny hitmontop, and shiny hitmonlee and hitmonchan.

It is a dissapointment for trainers who dont pay to play, since item storage space to store all 999 coins will be virtually impossible: I dont even have 1000 storage spaces, I would have to get rid of everything to be able to get all the coins
The full stack counts as a single item in your bag.
This isn’t pay to win. This is simply rewarding metropolitan areas, which is out of control.

I can’t think of other Pokémon’s that are harder to get e.g. regionals

The only option that makes sense to me is you could go out and buy a switch and pokemon scarlet or violet but someone did say in a reply that if you know someone who has a switch and pokemon scarlet or violet you can connect your account to pokemon scarlet or violet that way but it doesn't make sense to me

@@expurginatordbl640 basically yes you can get Meltan from the mystery box you get from pokemon home when you connect pokemon home to your pokemon go account. But right now if you don't want to go out and buy the Nintendo switch game system and pokemon scarlet or violet all those us who don't have the switch and pokemon scarlet or violet just have to wait until it's available another way if you know someone who has the switch and pokemon scarlet or violet someone said you could get it that way but in all the videos I've left a comment on the only 1 that I saw that reply was the 1 Zoe two dots did on how to get gimmeghoul and all the Vivillion patterns in pokemon scarlet or violet others have said different things so I don't know who to believe. So I think the best options are 1 get the Nintendo switch and pokemon scarlet or violet. 2 we just have to be patient and eventually it will become available a different way.

One problem for free to play players: How do you get more than 1000 storage in your item bag? I'll never be able to get a Gholdengo and I don't intend to because Niantic is trying to get money which I'm not trying to spend. RIP free to play players
