here’s a guide to making homemade frappes:
- take a cup and fill it 1/4-1/3 w milk/dairy (or 2/3 full for cream frappe) and add to ur blender
- add 1-3 shots of espresso or coffee (adjust to taste; skip if you want a cream frappe)
- add 1/8-1/4 cup simple syrup (made by boiling equal parts sugar and water until the sugar is dissolved- this replaces the cream/coffee base. it sweetens the drink and makes it creamier)
- add flavoring. you can use flavored coffee creamer, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, etc.
- fill your cup mostly full of ice and add to the blender
- blend for 30secs - 1 minute
- top with whatever you’d like and you’re ✨done✨
my personal favorite is to use extra coffee, cocoa powder, and semisweet chocolate chips, topped w whipped cream and chocolate syrup. tastes like a java chip frap.

@@kiraisamess Xanthan gum is used as an emulsifier. The recipe listed here is missing one, so the milk and sugar would most likely seperate pretty quickly. And yes Xanthan gum is contained in the base, along with some flavourings and 2 preservatives

How much heavy cream do you use in a venti frappe? And do I add in another milk with it?
Cool lime has actually been since discontinued. It was gone before I started working at Starbucks.
Heavy cream is actually an alternative milk. :)) Whole milk is usually used for frappuccinos unless a customer specifies for a different kind. Whole milk (or alternative milks) are filled up to the first line on the cold cups, which is about an inch or so. ^^

Cream based drinks is like when you buy something (for example a Frappuccino) but you don’t add coffee to it. But cream base itself is a mixture of cream, milk, sugar, and eggs that is used to give it a really creamy consistency.
@@TeahLeonard No , there is definitely no cream or eggs inside sorry to disappoint. Frappuccino base is simply a sweetener, flavour enhancer and emulsifier so that the ice, sugar and milk don't separate. The ingredients listed on the packaging are Water, Sugar , Salt, flavourings, Xanthan gum(as an emulsifier), potassium sorbate(used as a preservative) and citric acid( used as a preservative, flavouring and desinfectant)
To add. If you have ever tried coffee base(used in frappuccinos that contain coffee(usually frap roast, an instant concentraited coffee ) so the base is less sweet, on it's own it tastes a bit like maple syrup

Another way to make a Frappuccino that I've learned from one of my jobs is
1: Get six scoops of Ghirardelli Frappuccino mix, 6 oz of vanilla, and a liter of half and half ( the amount depends on the oz and how big of a pitcher you have)
P.S. You can use different items such as milk or Coconut or Almond milk but the flavors will change.
This makes you a basic base for your Frappuccino.
2. Add your flavor (So Chocolate Sauce, Chocolate Syrup, or white chocolate etc.) The sauces can be Ghirardelli but you can use others. Then your coffee when it came to expresso's we did about two shots of expresso into our drinks.
3. (optional) Add some fillings like Oreo crumble, recess's crumble,
4. Add depending on how many cups you want about 8 oz of Base
5. Blend until smooth
6. Pour and decorate
(We liked to put chocolate syrup in the cup or on top of the drinks with extra toppings)
7. Enjoy.

I love the pink drink!! It's the most refreshing drink i have ever had. I just wrote Starbucks and gave them a great marketing idea to make pink drink ice cream!! I think it would be delicious as an ice cream to sell in stores along with a few other coffee drink flavors.🍧☕

crème base is a base syrup we put in our frappuccino’s that don’t have coffee. the point of the base is to make it the consistency of a milkshake, rather than a milk slushie. as for frappuccino’s that contain coffee, we have a coffee base. same sort of deal

How do you make a pumpkin spice Frappuccino? I know it’s in fall season but I’ve tried so many ways and they don’t taste like Starbucks
Depends on the size but if it’s a Venti, 4 pumps of pumpkin spice syrup, whole milk to the first line, blend with a cup of ice, if you don’t have creme base (makes the drink smoother and not all chunky) use some heavy cream instead, add a little bit of coffee. For the topping use whipped cream and pumpkin powder.

I don’t work at Starbucks so I’m curious, why can’t you put OJ in the blender? Does it make it taste different? Or something else?

@@nin-nin24 In Starbucks you are not really allowed to put anything in the blender that isn't listed in any specific recipe. It's against the Starbucks standards. The reasoning is that is could have an influence on other beverages or on the machinery which isn't desired. Especially when the food/drink item is your own but also let's say if you throw in a cheesecake or a croissant (I've seen everything 😭) you could very likely lose your job dependent on the circumstances

Frappuccinos aren't meant to be coffee drinks necessarily they were created to expand the demographic to meet the demand of more than just coffee and tea. They're basically a milkshake or a cooler. If you're looking for coffee flavor or caffeine try iced coffee, cold brew, iced espresso or iced latte that's definitely the way to go. Mix it up and see what works for you and what doesn't. Frappuccinos are fun in the summer time and for a little treat here and there but I do not recommend drinking one everyday.

I used to work in another coffee shop which used actual espresso in the frapp's but that shop closed down so im currently working at starbucks and kept thinking wats the point of a frapp if it's not real coffee, this makes more sense
people complaining about the price but really how often does someone drink these to want to buy everything to make it at home?? if you hardly drink starbucks i don’t see the problem, it’s a shop that specializes in drinks only so of course they’re going to have the supplies bought cheaper in bulk to make profit...
I think they complain because they have heard countless numbers of people complain and it's embedded in their subconscious & they are triggered when they hear about or see a Starbucks drink to complain. Scary because they are not thinking. A trigger produces a automatic or thoughtless response. Thinking people order a drink pay the $5.75 because like you said its occasional visit or a rarely brought drink. Great comment!

grande size its , cold water (just a little so the espresso dosn't melt the cup), 3 shot espresso and then cold water to the top line and finally a scoop of ice
At one point she said to add a couple pumps of “classic.” Like what flavor is that supposed to be lol? It’s not vanilla because she added a couple pumps of vanilla right after the classic.
Also, the cream base does not look like cream? It’s clear. 🤔

I think classic is mostly raw sugar and water (bought the syrup)

I think cloud powder is a egg white powder to give it the froth. But you know, cloud powder sounds better then egg white. Classic is a simple syrup.

In Europe Starbucks doesn't use cloud powder and 2% milk it just uses cold 0.5% milk which froths up on it's own very similarly after being blended, no sugar, emulsifiers or anything but yes you are absolutely correct about the egg whites. Cloud powder ingredients include Sugar, Arabic Gum, Egg White Powder, Rice Protein, Citric Acid, Sea Salt, Natural Flavor, Xanthan Gum.
