Viva Republica Dominicana...Siempre!
My lovely Dominican sous chef island wife and I used to trip down to the Capital, Santo Domingo and stay at the then, incredibly cheap Nicolas de Ovando Hotel,a 16th century palace, within the Citadel..$75.00....
The hotel's most gracious staff would then just smile and hand us all of 500 year old the old keys to choose our very own fabulous Castillo sanctuary.... amazing!..and now alas....all gone.
For me?... Sommoner's Tales... is my Sir Francis Drake ....my Dominican....Gracious Todos.
Sting's masterpiece. I bought the album on release day in 1993 and played nothing else for the next month. Astonishing music.
1993! ...hard to believe...If only Sting could still write songs like these ...
@@photo161 Yeah... 😭
awesome sauceness...
MY FAVORITE ROCK SINGER OF ALL TIME!!...LOVE ME SOME STING AND HIS VOCALS!! Holds up pretty well after 25 years.
Good music usually holds up.
right smartly
30 already :)
"And everytime I close my eyes, I see your face" that gets me everytime. a little tear
Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Legend!!!
The greatest of all time!
Is it me or is Sting a genius? Damn.
He truly is a genius....
Jajaja yes is a genius
He's a genius.
Very much so; he deserves to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist!!!
Sos vos nomás. Las categorías del romanticismo no tienen nada que ver con esto.
Lyrics in case someone needs em :p
You could say I lost my faith in science and progress
You could say I lost my belief in the holy Church
You could say I lost my sense of direction
You could say all of this and worse, but
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
Some would say I was a lost man in a lost world
You could say I lost my faith in the people on TV
You could say I'd lost my belief in our politicians
They all seemed like game show hosts to me
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
I could be lost inside their lies without a trace
But every time I close my eyes I see your face
I never saw no miracle of science
That didn't go from a blessing to a curse
I never saw no military solution
That didn't always end up as something worse, but
Let me say this first
If I ever lose my faith in you
There'd be nothing left for me to do
This song is like a faithful friend whenever I'm at a testing time in life, gives me perspective.
This song, for me, will always be the Aqua Marine... the Caribbean sea... realizing, then walking, away from my Island wife. (Think Sade)🌴🌞☮

I'm
For me, it will always have a special context in my life, the journey surrounded by pine trees on one of the entry roads to the great city of Rome.
What a great image! I'm sure it must have been a very peaceful moment.
Perhaps some similar emotion in Pavia. Just unforgettable.
Sting Love The 1990'S
This is my parents music. But I love it anyway. Sting is timeless
Best song he's ever written! And one of the best songs ever written aswell.
THIS SONG IS SO TRUE FOR 20/20!!!
Without God I'd be completely insane
🙏♥️♥️🙏
I'm very thankful to have Eternal Love
This song reminds me of just how lucky I really am
This album is has the amazing drum sound of Vinnie Colaita, called personally by Sting. I wonder what Stewart Copeland must have thought, and Colaiuta stayed on for the next 3 albums, lucky guy. I love the drums on this album
With David Sancious, Bruce Springsteen's 1st keyboard player, who lit up his first few LP's, is outstanding on this LP. Those organ runs and fills, amazing.
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement
I like it
This album is one of my all time favorites... I'm embarrassed to admit I have a copy taped from my friend's CD on a CrO2 cassette as his stereo produces a near CD quality on tape... it holds a lot of memories as a struggling young engineer during the early 90s...
I've just come across this album and I'm gobsmacked. Love Sting even more cause of this album.
Beautiful music!
Im 15 but damn this is good, thanks mom and dad:)
I bought this cassette on the 1st day it came out. A lot of good times.
have been a huge fan of sting since early 80's I feel that he is one of the most gifted creative artists around
I used to play drums along to this album on my drum set all the time! Such underated, intricate little amazing drum patterns. Brilliant really
Me also when I was a teenager.. Still do from time to time along with stings previous albums for just that reason of class grooves, licks and tasty rhythms. Seven days and Saint augustine being a favourite to groove to
doesn't hurt to have colaiuta on board ^^
Mannn! The dissonant chords at the start of the song are just chef's kiss Sting genius in full display. Like who the F starts a hit song with that dark, heavy shit? Only Sting can pull it off and shove such dissonance down the masses throats without most even realizing it.
2019... still geniusss
当時福岡市にコンサートで来たね、良かった❗
Awesome man & his music !!!
Gorgeous song.
Many thank-yous Sting. So desirable is all your solo work. For everyone reading this, listen to every instrument played closely. Much enjoyment is at hand!
This charted in February of 1993, the same month/ year I was born. Ironically, this is one of my favorite songs.... anytime I'm upset or scared, I listen to Sting's music, I feel better....small world....LOL
Masterpiece
Beauty!!!
Marvellous... we did not know what we were whitnessing. Take me back to the eighties...
romandame for me he is timeless
TIMELESS
My Favorite of ALL of Sting's Songs
How prescient, we now have a game show host for a president in America.
How shallow a remark, really.
I thought the same thing LOL :/
@@Fontari It's not a shallow remark- it's a fact. He was literally the host of a game (reality) show.
@JJ McCartney you mad?
Still one of my all time favourite albums...vintage Sting...timeless classics
This song is stellar...absolutely loving it after all these years. So glad that Sting and Trudy are a love match. She must be the inspiration for these lovely yet poignant lyrics? ! Happy New Year to Sting and his family.
Perfect song. Keep the faith!
Great song
2 full length ads beforehand ... I've already spent a fortune buying all these vinyls
Sting o melhor cantor de todos os tempos!
The 80 s and 90 s music good old days back when the world was normal I mis these times

the best and my most fave album
Sting Love The 1993
What a beautiful lil album
one of the first CD's I ever bought as a kid
On track 2, Love is Stonger than Justice, the subtitle is the MUNIFICENT seven, not the Magnificient Seven, which is a B western movie.
Love this so much
Love it ....
I played it so much I broke it in two places, .....Denver and Austin!
So Damned Good!!!
opening keys always remind me of Thriller
All the old music I remember like Sting, Michael Bolton and Sade, makes me sad to listen to. It reminds me of my childhood when I enjoyed life mostly with no debt, covid and before many crises in my life. I remember the comet in 1997 and the solar eclipse in 1995. I remember when Jurassic Park was in the theatre. I wish I could go back.
Amazing and brilliant as always...Thank U Sting-Thank U!
Esto es una perla
So many great artists released beautiful albums in 93; Janet, Mariah, Tupac, U2, Duran Duran and many others. I love Sting’s entire album. What a great year for great music!!
Sting is not by any means a genious. How dare think that way. STING is GOD!
this is velocized and changed
😥 sen çok güzelsinn😍
1993
😀🌱🌼💛
My Mom used to have the Cassette Tape ❤❤
My dad did too! The cassette was very colorful if I remember correctly! Ohhh man... playing it on our Pioneer radio
Al Festivalbar 93
The album which started a whole industry called : e-commerce
This is one of collection do I like. regretable! They aren't in the name of police
I’m dead on Netflix and UA-cam
the least you could do :)
All I know about “Stink” is that my dad didn’t enjoy his music 😂
We aren’t completely alike after all
Hi
opening lyric has never been more poinant 😞
Mum
a brother my tour of you a team of use a Marine home the book of those a song home brother
Гиперфилософия!
No drummer? I believe that Alex Van Halen may be available…
sounds a lil like bryan adam's type of song
Bad recording - it's fast, and the song is tuned up a full step. Knew it was too high when I heard Sting's first notes.
You are 100% right of coarse, having listened to this album numinous times when I bought the CD in the 90's it is annoying hearing it speeded up like that.
Immediately noticed it too. I assume that's to avoid copyright issues or something, but it was too distracting.
the pitch is wrong
How
@@Sipex6484 it's been sped up... Pitch is too high... Go watch the official music video
@@bulldogger1467 oh yeah I see now
Innocent times....which as a woman of colour I foolishy believed...but it was always about the WASP...
Song has a little too much 80s bounce, I'd say drop the harmonica, for me, would love it if it was as stark the chorus through out. Still when it's majestic it's phenomenal. You can hear that more 90s intense sound wanting to push through. 4 stars out of 5
+incufish23 Yep... and this youtube clip sounds a bit pitched up & possibly tempo fast.
+Logee Logee Possibly. Have to break out the spotify and or disc to make sure. Thanks for the good comment Logee.
Also the video deserves a shout out and fit's the song.
Ypu eo know that this album was released in 1993.....right?
Correct, all that BS analysis and can't even read the CD notes!
You don’t need to analyse something what is coming from heart...:-)))
This whole album playlist sounds too fast
This whole rip is out of tune.
