    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: What to Feed a Dog With Arthritis
    The major cause of arthritis in dogs is from an inadequate diet that doesn't give your dog all that they need to feed the cartilage in the joints and over time the cartilage wears through exposing the bone and causing great pain.
    The Four Main Areas Are, Exercise, Massage, Supplementation And Diet.
    EXERCISE is key to keeping your dogs joints moving and weight more controlled. This can be a problem when all you want to do is let your senior dog rest their achy joints, but the opposite is needed to stop the joints from seizing up over time.
    Of course it's important not to jar the joints with pounding exercise but treadmill work, slow walks, swimming or walking on sand really helps older dogs that maybe fat, weak or in too much pain.
    MASSAGE can really benefit your dog, easing muscle tension and relieving lactic acid buildup. It also provides lymphatic drainage and better circulation to bring much relief and wellbeing.
    SUPPLEMENTATION boosts dog health to reduce inflammation and reduce pain. Glucosamine is a popular option and best started ahead of arthritic onset. Glucosamine is an amino acid that plays a vital role in the production of cartilage and other joint tissues. Glucosamine must be used in conjunction with a vitamins and minerals program for maximum benefits.
    GLUCOSAMINE supplementation increases the body’s capacity to manufacture collagen and proteoglycans, which are vital for rebuilding joints and supporting synovial fluid which lubricates the joints.
    Glucosamine generally comes in powdered capsule form or as coated tablets. Make sure it's glucosamine sulphate from a quality brand as many inferior brands use other binding agents. Your dog needs about 200mg per 10lbs of lean body weight.
    Add to your dogs daily food. Glucosamine is safe and if your dog is badly arthritic, you can safely double the dose. Continue supplementation for life.
    GREEN LIPPED MUSSELS are another good choice and have been proven to be effective. GLM has only recently become popular in the west due to its highly beneficial anti-inflammatory properties from tests on dogs.
    The powdered extract of GLM holds high concentrations of minerals, omega-3's and a unique blend of fatty acids unique to this marine crustacean. GLM also contains many nutritional properties. They contain a good variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, omega-3 fats, and many other nutrients.
    A general rule of thumb is 150mg of powdered extract per 10lbs of your dogs lean body weight.
    If you don't see improvement after one month of use, you'll need to up the amount by 25%. As your dogs condition improves, you can lower the dose to the starting amount.

    - Arthritis in dogs is common, especially in older dogs, and can affect any joint from the neck to the toes, with signs including limping, favoring limbs, and hesitancy in movement.
    - The major cause of arthritis in dogs is an inadequate diet that fails to provide necessary nutrients for cartilage and joint health, leading to pain as cartilage wears through and bone is exposed.
    - Four main areas to control and bring relief to dogs with arthritis are exercise, massage, supplementation, and diet.
    - Exercise is crucial for keeping joints moving and controlling weight, with activities like slow walks, swimming, or treadmill work being beneficial.
    - Supplementation with glucosamine, green-lipped mussel extract, and bone broth can reduce inflammation, improve joint health, and alleviate pain in dogs with arthritis, while the Healthier Kibble Diet offers a solution for kibble-fed dogs to address arthritis and other health issues.

    Hi love from India. My Rottweiler puppy is 38 days old and I kept her on tiles floor (plaster floor) from the date I brought her home now her back legs are twisted inwards very much from back side. What to do now?

      Feed a diet of fresh foods not so much dry food. So feed raw eggs, lots, canned sardines/tuna, some meat proteins like chickens, all parts, and some part cooked and well crushed vegetables. Keep regular exercise and look for ayuveda specialist massage to correct legs.

    I have a question. I’m currently giving my dog Kreppa and it’s helping to control some seizures. When trying out CBD oil should I stop giving her the Kreppa? Is it safe to try Kreppa and cbd oil at the same time to control seizures?

      It's stated to be ok with other treaments so should be ok. I personally prefer a full raw food diet and CBD oil as it has proven to work on every seizure client tested.

    I’m giving my dog one chewable of dasaquin. One tablet of green lipped mussel and one tablet of glucosamine chondroitin a day. Is this okay? Or is this too many supplements to give her a day?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 роки тому

      Dasaquin is supposed to be good from anecdotal evidence.. Wont need to give extra glucosamine as the Das has it in already and the green lipped mussel is excellent and yes, you can give both.

    • @DanScott1

      Your dog needs about 200mg per 10lbs of lean body weight. Glucosamine is the standard and works pretty well. I highly recommend Green Lipped Mussel too, wonderful results from studies: amzn.to/3sZnTfN
      From The Video:

      And lastly: remember to add canned sardines (in water) to the meals every second day and some hemp oil too for balance: amzn.to/3vDdtjX
      Now you have effective arthritis control and better diet.

    Have you heard of rejensa?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 місяці тому

      I've had a look at a couple science papers on it but would need to research it a lot more to be convinced of it's properties being much greater than plain glucosamine.
      I also look at the website of the manufacturer and here's the additional ingredients in their chew product: Other ingredients: Caramel Powder, Chicken Digest, Chicken Meal, Cultured Skim Milk, Dried Molasses, Egg Product, Glycerin, Natural Smoke Flavor, Rice Flour, Rice Bran, Salt, Tocopherol (as a preservative). Ingredients listed in alphabetical order.
      I'm not happy with those ingredients.. none of them?
      For me it's fresh food in the diet absolutely first, then supplements for joint care such as mentioned in the video and something like this: Hip & Joint: amzn.to/3IVUVUX

    How can I safely feed my dog raw meats??
    Does freezing meat kill anything that might harm him?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  3 місяці тому +1

      A healthy dogs digestive system takes care of bacteria. Freezing takes care of bacteria also.
      Frozen green tripe is also great complete nutrition dog food easy to digest no bones, dogs love it. Start small and slow the first two weeks. Have a look: shrsl.com/3yxwk
      Or when handling meat just use some ACV apple cider vinegar 50:50 with water to clean off the meats surface.
