What happens when you bring Mike Shinoda of #LinkinPark and Mark Hoppus of #blink182 in the same room? New music!
Back in June 2017, Diana Ciobotea traveled to Cannes, France for the Midem Music Conference. She was there as both a Journalist & Music Business PR. On day 2, #MikeShinoda and #MarkHoppus brought their gear on stage to teach us about how a new song is written and produced. They shared valuable pieces of advice on songwriting, music production and tools to use. Mike told us how Rick Rubin has changed the way him & his bands in Linkin Park were writing songs. He also told us a little story about how he used to come up with new song ideas with his late bandmate, Chester Bennington. The keynote was hosted by Shirley Halperin from Variety Magazine.
As of today, we don't recall this track being developed anywhere further, but still, is a good day to look back to it and share with you these evergreen #songwriting tips! Enjoy and may the creativity be with you! ;)
