- In this video, GmanTunaCan and I score a metal detecting permission at a house in an older part of town. In the course of digging the usual modern change and scraps, we also manage to find a few interesting finds, including an old military medal!
Nice finds I recently found a 1950s coke bottle and some old glass insulators found them next to the train tracks enjoyed watching thanks for sharing and good luck on your next outdoor adventure 👍
I saw that thumbnail for all those insulators you found. I'll have to check that out! I love insulators. I have a couple late 1800s ones but they are in rough shape

That good conduct medal is special. It would be so cool to know to whom it was given. :-)
I wish I could find who lost it and get it back to them, I'm sure they or their family would love to have it back

I do have to say that if you collect all those dandelions and add them to a 1.75 ltr of Everclear you will have Everclear that tastes like dandelions. LOL Had fun watching you have fun Aaron. Thanks! Yeah, It's definitely going in the coffee table for sure! I've found two or three silver marksmanship badges over the years as well
Taking a break from Arrowhead hunting is always good for me gives my mind to reset 😊

The 5 mil ones are so much better than the 1 mil! I think they are made from copper. I have dug hundreds of the 1 mils over the years but probably only a dozen or so of the 5 mil. Isn't it weird when you find another state's tax token? I found a Louisiana one a few years ago here in OK. Which was kinda cool since I was actually born in Louisiana.

Tax tokens are everywhere in Oklahoma. Some places they're worse than pull tabs. 🤣
I've been detecting for 14 years and I think they're a great find and a great piece of history. I've dug hundreds of them and I still get excited every time. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@meandmyshadow6269 , I got my first detector at the age of 9 in 1970. My dad was bored with the old Garrett, and figured it was a way to keep me out of trouble. If you really like the tax tokens, look for old country stores, schools, and playgrounds. Old timers would give kids handfuls of the tax tokens to play with. The only tax tokens I ever cared about as an adult were the "OPA points" tokens. They were made from a hard pressed fiber board like material. I remember some were red, and there were blue ones. Non-metallic, but you can find them in old dump grounds sometimes. I just got back into the hobby, and my wife and I both got a Legend detector. Technology sure has come a long way since my last new detector was a Fisher 1260-X. Happy Hunting!

Hahaha, yeah you can see him doing a lot of digging in the background of a lot of those shots. He's a pretty prolific digger!

Thanks for watching! The pinpointer is a Whites TRX. I also have a Garrett "carrot" but I use it only for water detecting.

Hahaha! Well, if Jinx can grin at me on commannd, I might be less afraid. And "afraid" is such a strong word, isn't it? I'm not really afraid, I'm just.... cautiously wary of... ok, I'm afraid of horses. And cows. 🤷🏻♂️
