As an aged retired professor, this song is never the last one I will listen to while missing my deeply-beloved ones, especially my deeply-beloved late wife, in the past. The music 🎶 and dancing is wonderful, done with passion. Yet it is a very sad song, as she said goodbye. I cry just thinking about that. I am deeply in love with Jay. He is the most wonderful man I have ever met. There is no way I could walk out of his life.

I’m 65 and the father of 3 daughters and 1 son. In our culture we live with the quinceañera tradition which is when your daughter is 15 years old we make a big party. So it is a tradition too to dance a waltz father and daughter. I pick up this song for that moment. I didn’t have the chance to dance with the other two because I was serving time on county jail. But I did it with my little one and for me it was like I was dancing with the three of them. So every word and every note makes me cry and also share the memory with my beautiful wife who passed away 7 years ago. SO. LA LA LA LA

I find so happy when people write about their experiences and the past ..but for me unfortunately my narcissist wife distoryed my life by going with a new supply and also brainwashing three boys and made to hate me ..now I listen to all the lovely old song and without my knowledge tears fall on my cheeks..

I remember hearing this song on my mother’s RCA cassette deck when I was 9 years old. I used to listen to it with her. It holds such a sweet memory for me. Now when I listen to this song I sing and play guitar for mom in heaven! I miss you Mom! Thank you.
This looks like a story book love, so beautiful , I really loved this .Not a happy ending . So sad, true love should never die but now it does. Many people don’t carry the morals and standards of yesterday ,too much free love. Look how the women dressed then ,so elegant , really looked like women . Engelbert was performing at the Bergen PAC on Feb 23, 2023 where I had attended. Yet, he was energetic at his age. I wish I could watch his performance again in my life since he has been my favorite singer since 1968.

What memories. I lip synced this song in a school play when I was a senior in high school way back in 73. After the performance, people were coming up to my parents and saying OMG, what a beautiful voice your son has, we never knew he can sing so beautifully. Lol! 😂

This song is really magical ❤ i remembered this scene from a taiwanese drama 流氓蛋糕点 (Chocolat) where the guy asked the lady for one last dance before he leaves the cake shop. I remembered searching this song up at a young age of 14 and im already 23 now. I kept wondering where i heard this song from and when i finally found the drama and the scene today, i realise it wasnt as magical as i thought anymore 😢 this teaches me that we shld let go of obsessions sometimes 😂 it does brings back fond memories though 😊 but its all the more important to live in the present ❤
