The woman in this video looks so much like my mother in her modeling years in 1960-early 1970. My Mother was so stunning. I never got to know her. My Dad loved this artist and it makes me think of him. He would play this on 8 track picking me up from school from Orlando to Sarasota Florida on weekends. I used to roll my eyes as any teenager would, and now I wish I didn't. I'm so sorry Dad I took you for granted. You passed in 2008, I am now 62, and not a day goes by I don't think of you. Prayer, talks with God in quiet moments and holding onto the memories of the good times we shared and knowing she's at rest and in Good hands with our Lord gives me immeasurable strength. When the sadness hits me at unexpected moments I keep that in mind and I honor her by keeping her in my heart and I can hear wonderful laugh as if it was yesterday. This song is beautiful and Engelbert Humperdink is In my view one of the most prolific vocalists I've ever heard. He has a voice that just cannot be duplicated because besides the fact that it's a tremendous well rounded full voice, it's the emotional nuances he adds to it that's unique. It's his signature and his alone. I remember dancing to this song with the "love of my life"...High School mid year Ball - year 10 - 1968/69 I think...We missed the bus that night and I walked her home...took us a good hour...holding hands feeling in Heaven in the city centre. She was so pretty and sweet...next day, Sunday, we met again and went to the movies...I saw her again on Monday and every day after that....Today I only see her when I close my eyes...

One month ago Engelberts wife died with coronavirus. I cry when I’m listening to this beautiful song and thinking about the words, it’s so so emotional that “ please God send his girl home to him” because he is a lonely man without his wife. I pray for everyone who has faced these lyrics in real life and hope that they find solace. Ameen
@@ciao532 I lost my wife not quite 2 years ago and I'm still processing it. Prayer, talks with God in quiet moments and holding onto the memories of the good times we shared and knowing she's at rest and in Good hands with our Lord gives me immeasurable strength. When the sadness hits me at unexpected moments I keep that in mind and I honor her by keeping her in my heart and I can hear wonderful laugh as if it was yesterday.
This song is beautiful and Engelbert Humperdink is In my view one of the most prolific vocalists I've ever heard. He has a voice that just cannot be duplicated because besides the fact that it's a tremendous well rounded full voice, it's the emotional nuances he adds to it that's unique. It's his signature and his alone. Add to that the back drop of Gerard Butler a man's man and this breath taking, incredibly stunning woman ( Marylin Monroe/ Michelle Phiffer Hybrid) and the panorama surrounding it, you have the perfect video 📹 here. Perfection.

I remember dancing to this song with the "love of my life"...High School mid year Ball - year 10 - 1968/69 I think...We missed the bus that night and I walked her home...took us a good hour...holding hands feeling in Heaven in the city centre. She was so pretty and sweet...next day, Sunday, we met again and went to the movies...I saw her again on Monday and every day after that....Today I only see her when I close my eyes...
