I always look forward to a new upload from you. I use your vocal videos everyday. I’ve become a vocal beast now with the amount of control, resonance, breathe, and tricks I am now able to do with my voice. @@erionf.7892 Yes. I was very uncomfortable on my higher range before this exercises. Now I have improved resonance in higher range and my lower range too. The key is consistency.

I’m a lyric baritone(trained as a tenor) & your absolutely right. My super power is my lower & upper register due to the rich, warmth, & grit of my middle register that u would think Ive reached my peak. When I go lower or up with the same volume & weight it’s a shock factor for listeners!

This is encouraging as a baritone! I need to accept the fact that I can't sing along with Bruno Mars Lol!
That's just it though! With good registration event technique, youi'll have about 90% of the range that he covers. Yes, there will be a few notes here and there, but you'll have most of it, and way more bottom end than he could ever dream of!

I am lyric baritone. Even tho my range (with whistles) is up to G#6. Thats why I thought I am tennor, but my voice has biggest power in B3 - F4, so that makes me lyric baritone. Also my falsetto high notes as well as head voice sounds bit darker 💪🙂
Yes lyric baritones tend to have a wide falsetto extension.

In my opinion high baritones have the most commercial appeal. They have the ability to sing pretty high while still having a depth to their sound. I have a low baritone singing voice. Anything above D4 for me doesn’t feel natural, although I can sing past E5 in falsetto most days. Would give anything to hit those G4’s and A4’s with a full easeful sound

It takes time, but it's doable. I've brought my chest range from an E4 to a G4. And on some good days, I can belt an A4!
@@coltongannon3022 what did you do man? I’ve tried everything. I can belt out e4’s and f4’s most days but always crack above that. I’ve watched tons of videos on mix voice but most of those guys seem to have lighter voices to begin with even if they’re self proclaimed baritones
@FitJourney_JC there's a few points to get there.
One: You need to make sure you warmed up well! (At least 20 mins) and grounded, a good warmup is one that is gentle and focused on controlling technique. Don't ever push in a warm-up. I also like to take time in my warmups and just focus on breathing in and out to my stomach slowly.
2nd: Make sure you are breathing into your diaphragm (stomach) while singing. So get in front of a mirror (or record yourself) and watch yourself. You should see your stomach come in and out with inhalation and exhalation. You should always feel a little tension in your stomach when inhaling and exhaling. You also wanna make sure your shoulders aren't rising when you're inhaling... this is bad form because you are breathing to your chest rather than your stomach.
3rd: When you're attempting to belt, you have to stoping putting too much air pressure out. It shouldn't feel like you need to push. When you attempt to belt. I want you to imagine the sound from your voice coming out in the shape of a rainbow. Please NEVER try to push your voice. You'll end up straining it.
The first time I belted an A4, it felt like the technique was doing the work for me. fineness > power
4th: Watch yourself in the mirror when you sing. Notice how much tension is in your throat. Try to sing and use as little neck activity as possible. It should look like your neck isn't flexing or moving almost at all! Also, make sure your neck isn't protruding out, and your shoulders are level
5th: A lot of this is a mental battle. If you mind seeing the notes you're trying to hit as high, your body will tense up and naturally try to brace itself to hit the notes. You don't want this. Instead, try to just imagine the notes you are trying to sing are just normal. Remember to keep relax, you've got it in you!
If you are still struggling, I recommend finding a good private teacher, ideally one that has some formal background. They'll fix your technique and see stuff I can not see. Hope this helps at all!

while me here with a range of F2-F4 still wondering whether im a baritone or a tenor. My voice tone is nothing like a baritone, but I have a hard time singing like tenor. Perhaps i have a baritone range with tenor resonance lol. Answer me please 😭
If you're getting stuck at f4 it sounds like you're getting stuck right at the secondo passaggio. I'd suggest investigating your registration event technique.

Maybe you need some practice to discover your voice, my voice sounds very light and nothing like a baritone but I am one and before my range was like G#2 to Eb4 but after practicing some time now my range is from D2 to F5 at my best (I have vocal nodes so it's not very consistent tho)

Ah, I see your point. I should've mentioned that I was mostly thinking about baritone voices below g3. Don't I mention that though? It may only have been in my notes...

The funny thing is, I know baritones who can carry up weight in their voice, even up to F5. But in my case I started off as a bass and 10 years later I sing pure tenor, so lol, wish I was still a baritone hah.

Bit more complicated than that, I'm afraid. Depends on registration events and the way different areas of your voice feel and sound.

Hello, Jeff! Great content! I've got a question. How do you think is it possible for a baritone to do really lush B4's - not totally head-dominant but balanced? Do your warmups "How to sing over the break" help to smooth that transition area? So I work on that thus "write" proper vocal cords coordination to my muscle memory and in long term I'll be able to sing lushy powerful mix?
b4 is above the next registration event for most baritones, the one beyond the secondo passaggio, so the technique to sing in that range is somewhat more demanding. That being said, I would never presume to limit anyone's ambitions. You seem to have a good concept of the tonal qualitites you're looking for, keep at it. That range will require more consistency of engagement that lower down. Recording yourself regularly will be important as the internal sound may sound much 'headier' than the external tone production.

Depends on whom you ask. Some would say yes, some would say no. These days, the 'baritenor' label generally gets applied. Miller says that you have a choice but to avoid the demanding repertoire that tenors generally encounter until you have time to develop. That's opera stuff though. It's most important to learn the optimal function of your voice - make that the top priority!

@@JeffRolka thanks because this is what confused me. I recently unlocked the "mix" and can sing up to an e5-f5, but my tone is nearly as full as a tenor and i can still bring my voice down to a c#2. thats why i was confused and then people said baritenor isnt an actual voice type? I dont think i have a tenor brightness, but have a tenor high range and a baritones low range.

Hey Jeff, just a question. I know a number of baritones who can go all the way until the tenor high C without using their head voices, although most including myself top out after A4 and switch gears to the head voice. If that is the case, how will you personally tell if someone is a baritone or tenor?
The same way you would evaluate any other voice. By assessing the overall characteristics of their voices and the locations of their registration events.
