    First time I did it today without cracking!! Still is a bit strained but by really flexing the Kermit lift in the back of the throat I was able to hold an F on the Eeee vowel!! Super stoked :)))

    Thank you for this! Found one you made in 2015 on this topic and really appreciated how you've slowed things down, added camera angles, notations (at least for Patreon subscribers), and all the other ways you help us. Singing a choral arrangement of a disco anthem ending on a sustained note over the break, and this really helped.

    Hey Jeff, Ive been watching your videos for the better part of a year and have enjoyed them a lot. I have kind of a random question. So idk if im kinda tone deaf or not but im having a hard time really knowing what range most of Motorheads songs are. An example is Damage Case. It doesnt sound like hes singing relatively high at all, yet i think thats mostly because of his gruff gravelly voice. Especially the last verse of the song after the key change it seems decently high and my brain just gets confused sometimes of what notes hes actually "singing" would you say this is a song suited for baritones or tenors or maybe just badass mutants like Lemmy? (cause he could only pull it off right anyway). Ive been able to achieve a similar sound as him that doesnt hurt and ive been pursuing it for giggles. Thanks!

    Hi there Jeff, you're amazing, your videos are really helpful... One question though, I'm a baritone singing kinda operatic, as in the musicals, keeping a low larynx. How can I maintain that sound whilst going into a higher range like in the Phantom of the Opera for example...?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  3 роки тому

      You'll need to keep the larynx in a neutral or perhaps slightly lowered position in order to adequately transition into the upper register for higher range singing. So, yes.
      Best!
      Jeff

    Jeff, hi! I hope you are well. First of all, thank you very much for this wonderful content.
    I have a question: I increased 2 semitones in this exercise to train higher regions of my voice, but it is difficult to shape the sound of the letter "O" when it is at the high end. Any tips to make it easier? Maybe make a sound between "O" and "Ah"?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  8 місяців тому

      Exactly - modify the vowel more towards the /a/ or schwa vowel.

    Jeff, what could I do to stop straining on the higher notes in the second exercise? These exercises tire my voice out a lot.

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! My advice would be to work on your registration event practice. These exercises depend on a successful transition.

    Hey Jeff, I am baritone that can hit low on the staff F and one octave above the staff F, but how can I force my range into something like queens? I have tried ultra falsetto already, but my throat physically closes up no matter what I do and I can only get a quite kettle pot of a note that sounds terrible. I am also 16 and in some hardcore puberty, so that may have something to do with it.

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  4 роки тому +1

      There's a lot in your question - forcing our voices doesn't really work out. Focus on your change for the time being and work on engagement, appoggio, and vowel alignment in your comfortable chest voice range. That will serve you well as your voice settles down.
      Thank you!
      Jeff

    Hey Jeff! I work from home and practice all day... what's the maximum you recommend singing? I like to do full range, sustain, and falsetto over and over again... what do you recommend?

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  4 роки тому +3

      If your voice isn't showing any ill effects - why place arbitrary limitations? I'd make sure to spend some time on repertoire as well as vocalizations though, and perhaps some time studying music theory as well!
      Jeff

    Hey Jeff, my “e” sound in my higher has a really bad feeling in my throat. Can this be fixed? What should I do? Real scratchy. Not present on other vowels.

    • @JeffRolka
      @JeffRolka  4 роки тому +2

      Sandwich it between two other vowels that generally feel well aligned and try to keep the physical experience of singing it the same as the others. The sound may change slightly in the short term future though with practice you'll find a new way to focus it.
      Best!
      Jeff
