I got a 24 Black Edition. I don't really need the off road capabilities of the Trail Edition and the difference was $2000. With that I got a better sound system, the 20" black wheels, and cooled seats which has been nice with the recent heat wave. I drove a pilot too and oddly enough I think it rode a little better. However, I don't need a 3rd row, we have limited space in the driveway, and the Passport seems to have better acceleration than the Pilot when needed. The transmission mapping at lower gears can be a bit tricky but not nearly has bad as my Atlas was and the ride can get slightly bouncy at times. Overall I have had the Passport for just two weeks now and would recommend it. The 2025 models are coming out too so you can probably find a 2024 now for under MSRP.

Jsport aftermarket accessories. You can get a 1.5 inch lift kit & other goodies. What sets the Trailsport apart is the torque vectoring AWD system. It compeats with the Forester/Outback/Crosstrek, & Rav4 TRD off road. A 4Runner would blow this out of the water. Other crossovers like the CX50 don't have a torque vectoring AWD system.

LED light assemblies are nice until you have to replace one. I’d much rather spend a buck or two for a bulb, than have to spend potentially hundreds of dollars for an entire assembly all because one segment of LEDs went out. I find the Pilot too big for my needs and drives a bit like a boat. The Passport is the right size, drives a bit better, and has better gas mileage, but there is a class action lawsuit against Honda due to problems with the 9 transmission (actually from when the transmission was in the Pilot. It is still in the Passport). I understand Honda for the Passport in 2025 is going to switch to the 10 speed transmission, upgrade the interior some, and improve the bumpers. I say wait for the redesign in 2025 and then decide. Now if we could just get them to switch to a timing chain instead of a belt....Ok, I'm dreaming...

What's the point in placing the Turn Signals down so low? Can't be seen in most traffic situations. Bad design IMHO. The engine still uses a timing belt. Something to think about if you plan on owning it for awhile.

I don't why reviewers get upset when signal lights are not LED. The lights are not used that much so using regular bulbs is a smart decision.

I actually think the push button thing is kinda cool. I don't really pay attention to what vehicles offer until I'm looking for one and I didn't know push button was a thing until I looked at a passport!

Love this vehicle...not many people actually need a 7 seat SUV. I wish they would go hybrid with the powertrain or at least use the Pilot powertrain. This tells me that a complete update is coming soon.

    • @ryanb8736

They will go hybrid eventually. Unfortunately they will drop to 4 cylinder and lose 80 hp. Are you willing to make that sacrifice in loss of power to save some fuel?
Look at CRV if you want Hybrid.

If it had a drain plug in the back storage space and if the rear wiper was put in its place under the rear roof spoiler, the rig would be perfect.

I bought a 2020 Passport Elite new in February 2021 (now has 45,000 miles), and it's been a great vehicle. The one downside are the 20-inch wheels. I've been reluctant to take mine off-road because because of the lower profile tires and risk of damage. (I live in San Diego and enjoy being in the deserts east of here.)
One "zonk" on the 2024 Trailsport, IMHO, is the lack of recovery points built into the bumpers/frame, especially if they're going to market it as off-road capable.

I wouldn’t mind an SR5 premium, but where I live, the Toyota dealerships have lost their minds and they start off at $52K. Thinking of opting out for something like this Trailsport since I’ve seen some for under MSRP.

It has a timing belt. The timing belt must be replanced every 60,000 miles. The cost for that is from $1600 to $ 1800 😢😢😢😢

Timing belt last over 100,000 miles because I have seen it but only issue might be the pulleys .
Only thing that doesn’t last long is the injectors and that’s a fact

    • @ryanb8736
      @ryanb8736 11 місяців тому

@@magnoliap5824chains are not bulletproof. Wait till you stretch one in a Toyota. You’ll see how expensive of a job it is. Chains still need to be checked and changed. They are known to stretch too.
      Nothing is bulletproof.
