I loved my college coach, but man... this is the coaching I really needed!
I have homemade hurdles I use for practice that I made during covid. Helps to train to go low over them and attack w/o fear of hitting them. So far in races I have only clipped one, not knocked any over yet. Eventually I will, then I will know I am finally right on that razors edge.

Can someone clarify this, recently at a varsity meet in my country the officials said that if u hit the any of the hurdles and they fall to the ground it will result in a DQ. Everyone at the meet said this was ridiculous(they mentioned it after the 110m hurdle final) but they said that it was a new rule implemented by IAAF after Doha.
There’s no way this is true for international meets like the olympics or anything like that. The entire race would probably get dq. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the winner of a race not hit a hurdle in big meets like that so I wouldn’t see why they would change it. Maybe if you hit it and it gets in another runners lane and messing them up I could see it being at dq potentially.

Luke Chiang yeah that’s bull shit. It’s only a DQ if a runner deliberately knocks down a hurdle. Get that official out of there.

Luke Chiang the hurdles can’t (virtually impossible) fall completely flat because they are counter weighted. Hurdles are designed to pop back up after you hit them. Now hitting a hurdle in another lane you’re DQed

I see the problem too. The athlete is worried about looking pretty and not winning. I've never met a man that wears bigger earrings than a woman. Who goes to practice and attaches chandeliers to their head?
Tf wrong with you? You see many talented hurdlers wearing earrings and other accessories and they are not affected by it. I’ve never seen a man who worries about what another wears like yoy
