      Just checked, it’s the whitest country in all of america lol. An introvert's paradise; tiny population, tons of beachfront up for grabs. It reminds me of 80s singapore.

    Argentina has THE highest inflation index on earth, higher even than places like Venezuela and Zimbawe. For reasons too long to explain here, ARG currency collapses about every 10-12 year cycles. U CANNOT compare the price differentials betwen URU and ARG. They are two completely different planets, economically speaking. People who are considering moving to URU should get qualified advice regarding cost of living because URU is NOT a developing country and CoLA is quite higher than most places in the WH.

    Hello, how are you? I am Uruguayan, and a great recommendation to make to foreigners who come on vacation or for not so long stays, is to pay with debit or credit, the state returns between 12% With 23% of what is consumed, the VAT tax, you can have some money in currency, but electronic payment by card or Google pay is very widespread. And starting at $1,500 a month you can already vacation decently, if you are interested in more comfortable places like Punta del Este consider more than $2,500 to $3,000

    We enjoyed Uruguay. I think it is very sad and disturbing in centro historico Montevideo the amount of destructive graffiti of colonial buildings. When speaking to a younger woman expat from the usa, she claimed it is a " clash of cultures". What " culture " defines itself by adding nothing and defaceing other cultures. Very disrespectful and a detriment to tourism.

    you must speak Spanish well in order to obtain citizenship

    • @alidarotondaro
      @alidarotondaro 21 день тому

      @@Sorongotrema No, you don't need to speak Spanish well to obtain Uruguayan citizenship:
      Expat-friendly: Uruguay is known for being welcoming to foreigners, and there's no linguistic profiling. Locals are generally supportive and willing to help those who don't speak Spanish.

    Sounds great, but progressive is not always a positive.

    • @alwong8477
      @alwong8477 6 місяців тому

      Yup. Progressive in USA means riots, sidewalk drug dens, homeless living on streets, crime everwhere. I don't think they mean this place is like California! Very idealistic folks speaking!! Let's just say it's a functioning liberal democracy that acts as a buffer state between two large rival countries. And leave the narrow university educationed USA perspective out of it.

      @@johnsumma4847 because if you come from a high trust nation, you would slowly but surely question your sanity, if 1. what you are seeing is for real 2. and you will then wonder if it is you 3. then you will understand it is not - and then you can stockholm yourself into believing you can just live with it and ignore it (you will have to if you invested a lot) - stealing, lying, coersion, plain horrible indecent behaviour in every sense if you are used to high trust.
      read up on abuse. abusive behaviour. uruguay will be your abusive partner . the techniques are the same. the PTSD afterwards is real. good luck
