  • Core 'ngrato is a Neapolitan song written in 1911 by emigration Neapolitan Alessandro Sisca (called Cordiferro), grew up in New York. It was later set to music by Salvatore Cardillo.
Initially, neither had the intention of achieving a great success, even Cardillo her as a "scraps." Landed at Naples, Core 'ngrato was instead a great grip on public and became the first Neapolitan song of success coming from America.

All tenors wish they had this voice! He is not young here but still GREAT!

BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!

The statement as I believe Del Monaco had said, the Neopolitan songs, espescially O Sole Mio is sung 'A Gola Aperta"with an open throat, which makes the song more difficult than many arias because there is no time to rest.

Grandissimo Maestro Giacomini, a quasi 60 anni, qui registrato malissimo dai super tecnici giapponesi, eppure sei un fenomeno!

Nothing exposes a singer like a recital with just a piano. Here, Giacomini wows us with a truly artistic program, just piano and voice. Movie stars, like Lanza, cannot pull it off. Giacomini commands the stage. BRAVO!

totally different voice than the aforementioned Tenors no comparison, an amazing interpretation in a more Dramatic context by a voice which has aged well throughout the years.

He does a good job but this is not difficult for a pianist for this aria. Giacomini sings it in a way that is amazing even amongst good tenors!

Molto vero, grazie. A presto, saluti.

Quite musical & tender, in some ways moreso than either MDM or FC usually were. Still tho, the always problemamatic & bumpy vibrato plagued his entire career, early & late. For all his faults tho, 1 of the best italian heroic-type tenors of the late 20th century.

Mr Charles Henry was obviously not in the Royal Albert Hall in 1958 when Lanza sang with only piano.

Assolutamente vero.

Sorry guys, but after having heard Stracciari, Schipa, Di Stefano and others sing this, I don't like this at all. Wobble, occasional tremolo, vowels aren't clear, no chiaroscuro (just oscuro) and it sounds all forced and constricted. Stone me if you like, but that's it.
