Well, people considered the chosen members of the Savior as an angel (not a demon), that's why they never hesitate to show their true form (especially for Agnus, he's the worst bad egg 🗿)

In DMD when you taunt Credo he actually responds to it.

For example when Nero does his "bring it on " taunt Credo responds with "I WILL NOT BE THREATENED BY THE LIKES OF YOU!" And if you just aim him and just circle around he will do the same. Very interesting.
In DMC 5 if you taunt vergil as nero while on S rank he responds. If you taunt Dante as Vergil with his EX taunt and I think SSS rank he does his EX taunt back.

Fun fact: When battling Credo at Bloody Palace, if you finish him using Devil Bringer while in Devil Trigger, there's a special animation for Nero. After the buster animation ends and if you don't press any buttons, Credo will whisper "Nero...", and Nero will respond by avoiding looking at him as he dies, with a look of regret in his face
Pretty sure that animation is not unique to BP. I've seen Nero do it in the regular boss fight
You can really see how much this guy inspired Gabriel in ULTRAKILL. He even has some of the same taunts!

I remember you could counter Credo’s thrust attack with the demon grab. That was my fav thing to do in this boss fight

The fact Nero’s arm can block rebellion, credos blade, and maybe the Yamato given the chance, I have concluded…
The ability “royal guard” is in the gene pool, it skip a generation, but only for Vergil, so Nero’s arm allows a minor royal guard
Vergil has Royal Guard in a sense, in 3 and i’m pretty sure 5 during his bosses, he has a block he uses to interrupt your combos and take his turn back. In 3 it uses the same visual and sound effects as Royal Guard but that’s likely just to save on resources back then

@@grimmestcreaper2212 I used to think that way too! but now, Vergil holds Yamato's sheat with his left hand as he is right-handed, In DMC3 when he counters your combos he does it with his right hand gesture alone, without using yamato, so yeah I think he is very much capable of royal guard you like Dante does but he just prefers his great speed and agility with his Dark Slayer style

@@farisazka2568 Credo's transformation was an easter egg for Sephiroth, both are supposed to resemble angels with a single wing, and when you beat him you get an achievement called "One Winged Angel" which is the name of Sephiroth's theme

Pro tip: when he throws the first 2 spears lock on and devil grip away the first 2, release lock on and devil buster the 3rd, quickly relock and throw it back...does a fuck ton of damage and boosts stylish rank big time. Also stuns him

Parallele between dmc4 and bleach is cool. Nero and kyrie have the same voice actors as ichigo abd orihime, they basically have the similar personality. Plus neros maximum bet is like ichigos getsuga tenshou.
I knew about the Maximum Bet and VA for Nero, I had my suspicions, but I had no idea about Kyrie and Orihime.

I checked every battle from other gameplay users from playing as Nero to Credo. To my surprise, almost all players who have their own battles with Kyrie's brother haven't been grabbing Credo's spears with Nero's devil bringer arm and would throw it back. Who'd've thunk that the devil bringer has many secrets or the game letting you do as you want.
all I did in this game was spam the grab XDD

One of my favorite themes in dmc4 the overs being Sworn through Swords and Baroque and Beats

Coming back to this game through the SE and coming close to fighting this boss... I remember Credo nearly making me rage-quit years ago. I beat him eventually, but I never actually beat the game... hopefully my gaming skills have matured since then but still, I can't help but feel like I need to prep myself by watching others fight him with a profound anxiety for when it's going to be my turn to do it.

I like how the mid-fight dialogues are not some generic crap. Credo's personality comes out a little more fleshed out, too bad this fight is so tight you're too focused on fighting to even hear his quotes.
While performing grabs you can still charge shots or if you have trigger on keep smashing shooting button for additional demage
Man the Gabriel fight in Ultrakill made me have flashbacks to this lmao

EDIT: It seems that Credo's voice is actually Terence J.Rotolo.
At least he write that in his Instagram Bio. He worked in Dead Rising but I don't think was credited in DMC4 for some reason. But I don't see a reason to think he would lie.
Credos voice actor is actually Terence J rotolo. Vergils voice actor did do credo's mocap but he wasn't the voice for credo. That was unfortunately a mess up in the credits
Nero basically has a stand now.
How do you even pull off half of these moves? I had to shoot him majority of time with occasional sword slash while he is in the air because otherwise he kept damaging me easily without any way to counter it. The only thing that I can doge reliably is the spear throw. It took me like 30 minutes and two large health potion things to beat him.

So the concept of angels exist in dmc universe but not real angels. Always found it weird that theres no super natural force of good in dmc, just demons
