As far as the rear view mirror goes, I used a dremel tool and scuffed up the tab and the glass to give the glue something to grip. I marked the location on the windshield with a sharpie to ensure I got the right location to scuff up.
Two tips that my dad gave me for the mirror adhesive. 1) leave it sit way longer than the box recommends before messing with/adjusting the mirror. 2) try to get a newer container of it, a lot of the time those tubes have been sitting in the box for years and lose their efficacy.
Thanks for sharing all the great vids you do...Im not sure but i think that speedo cable is very much same as my fox body mustang cable..I just went through this speedo cable thing to and you need to pull the cable right out of the housing and lube it first or it will fail not to long down the road...And you cant not use just any grease or lube it needs to be a dry graphite lube....I did mine with just grease and did not last year....Also tried one just out of the package and that lasted not even year....Was not till after all that found out about dry graphite lube ...I believe ford also mentions it in manuals for older rigs....Anyway thanks for the vids again...
I think that is where I'll end up. I've been keeping my eye open for all the parts, found two locally but missed them both, so hopefully I won't too much getting everything. It's one of those projects that "while you're there" kind of thing that I can see snowballing into more money spent on more parts. :)
@@AndyKruseChannel it’s a thought, I had a 72 Maverick, at one point, when the rear view fell off the window I used a 67 Mustang rear view. Will wait to see what you come up with.

That's a good idea. :)
When I replaced the rearveiw mirror in my mustang, I used the 3m rear view mirror adhesive and it worked great. would def give that a try
I'll have to keep that in my back pocket. :)

Good advice. :)

Do you have space to install a 65-7 mustang rear view mirror? At least that way it wouldn’t interfere with your Sun visors.
That style of mirror is attached to the roof, so I don't know if it would work. :)
